I certainly agree with Red Hog's analysis of Scarborough, although I see no reason to circle the wagons to fire him. I think he is well on the way to implosion as it is. Up until Tuesday night, I could argue that Scarborough does present a number of serious, ego-driven problems for MSNBC, but that he has much to offer. After that ridiculous role playing exercise with the obviously uncomfortable Harold Ford, however, I tend to see Scarborough as an empty sweater with an enormous mouth. This was an imporvement on Imus?

Hmm... where are the blurbs about Hannity and his close friend Hal Turner ?

You mean the guy who was backing Ron Paul? The guy Hannity banned from his radio show? That close friend? I'm not aware of any news breaking on that front today, although I suppose I could put up a headline reading: Hal Turner is still banned from Hannity's radio show. Though that wouldn't have much connection to cable news.

The influence of Olbermann Watch.
This doesn't quite rise to the level of putting it in a post, but it's too good not to document. Note how even at the Daily Kos the Oralmann sycophants have taken to addressing him as "Olby":

Glad to see Obama going on FNC. Both Obama and FNC will benefit. I am sure that Obama will be dignified, articulate and conversant. And, I expect Wallace will be probing and respectful. Hopefully, Wallace will not be in his "talk over" pattern. I expect he won't. I'd really like to see Obama and Kristol. I expect Kristol would go into the corner and chew his nails.

I'll be watching.

And "Olby" is just as articulate and thoughtful as Olbermann Watch accuses him of being too!

Thoughts from The Oracle:

Is there a Matthews leg-tingling epic in this current political epic?....yes...

Is the epic the source of our increased ratings? "Not as much as you think"....

Are we keeping it going for ratings?.... we're tired...

Would the tingles and ratings continue anywhoo if we went straight to the national election.... you betcha...

Sheesh! I guess these gems provide necessary CYA and even satisfactory answers for those mental giant Kos Krazies and their accusations that Hillary continuing to have a pulse and to draw air into her lungs is a media plot...

Unless, of course you're Tom Hayden talking about Fox... :D

Fox news channel is the Sally Field of cable news. The remarks from Ed Rendell, Terry McAuliffe and now Obama appearing on their sunday show have made them so happy. They have reported on them and have used them in an ad. It seems like they are saying " They like us they really really like us. They are so needy. They need to be validated.

Those promos have got to the sweetest revenge FNC could have. Two titans of the DNC praising them as being the most fair and balanced cable channel AFTER the Party refused to hold debates on the channel...

Kristol is not a reporter, Wallace is.

Yes, I know Kristol is not a reporter. Neither is Wallace, at least not anymore. He is an anchor. He was a much better reporter, in a "gotcha" sort of way. Peter Principle at work.

I would just like to see Kristol challenged. He's invariably wrong, but he goes largely unchallenged. I suspect he would run as quickly from a challenge as he would anything which required some degree of personal sacrafice. The ultimate do as I say, not as I do guy ....

So how is it wrong that the NC GOP is airing Rev. Wright and his comments? Wright's the one who came up with these things; Obama's the one who listened to him for 20 years.

The pastor I've listened to for 20 years has definitely helped shape my current thoughts and character, and I'm not ashamed to have anyone hear anything from any of his sermons. So what's Obama's problem? You'd think he'd be happy to share this man's "wisdom", after listening to him attentively for 20 years.

Perhaps because the selectively edited snippets represent out-of-context seconds in a 40 year ministry? Perhaps, because it would be like replaying Robertson's comment about 9/11 as God's retribution on a sinful America as a representation of his entire ministry? Perhaps, because it would be like writing a theme on "Casabianca" the entirety of which is "Felicia Hemans wrote a poem about a boy who got a hot foot." It's empty. It's meaningless until you examine what the intent is. What is the intent in replaying the footage? To create fear and anger in White Americans about an African-American? To find another African-American guilty merely by association? Sounds a bit like a lynching to me, at least by intent. Why is it so many people were repulsed by Gibson and Stephanopolous for this? Why is it the enlihtened people in the North Carolina Republican Party are replaying this out-of-context snippet? A mission to inform people? Why is it even McCain wants this removed?

The Olbsession rolled on tonight as BOR was Worst Person. The third part of last night's "Policing the 'Net" segment was distorted (Blue Blog Sources: HipHop-Elements, National Ledger, and a host of others) to make BOR look like an old pervert that wants to hold a conference. As a result, I've had to go to FOXNews.com and watch the actual video of the segment, at least the part distorted. I watched it three times and the WPITW segment video once. Here's the video of the "Policing the 'Net" segment, free of distortion:
http://www.foxnews.com/video/index.html?playerId=videolandingpage&streamingFormat=FLASH&referralObject=a2369c87-02b5-4341-af27-3248aa9b2769&referralPlaylistId=0259b3a1fc9e2d64b892f2ac53b8dda39a1865a3
The Miley Cyrus discussion that led to the distortion begins with 1:29 left, but the topic preceding that may be why HipHop-Elements posted the story. Their line of thinking may be, "This white right-wing racist attacked our site and our video. Let's take him down by making him look like a fool." And the result went right to Oralmann's teleprompter and Olbsessed brain. Of course he made delighted in making BOR a pervert that wants to engage in certain activities at a conference with a female teen phenom. What else would you expect from the infamous, deplorable one?
I'd gladly recap at OlbyWatch if I had the stomach. I'm doing a pretty good job here.
