One would think that after being smacked down on worldwide television, the newshounds (another fine product from the Outfoxed mafia) would at least make a token attempt to avoid further humiliation. But nefarious nancy instead concocts another factitious "report" that again smears David Asman and Brigitte Quinn with phony quotes and invented bias:

11:07am Quinn said, with her usual tone of awe & reverence, that Israeli PM ASharon is getting ready to meet with Bush in Crawford.

"Usual tone" reality check; Listen for all that "awe" and "reverence" that nancy made up.

Quinn showed video of protesters against Bolton, & [Rich] Galen sneered, said "I rest my case"....

Nancy drags out her favorite word ("sneer") and once again indulges in another exercise of remote viewing [QuickTime video file]:



Now it may be within the realm of metaphysical possibility that nancy actually could see Mr Galen sneer even though he wasn't on screen. But Occam's Razor suggests a far more likely explanation: nancy made it up.

11:16am Quinn noted that JBolton is testifying in Congress, injecting two personal opinions: that Dems are "taking some swipes at him" & that a "lotta analysts seem to agree he'll be confirmed."

Personal opinion? Would nancy have us believe Dems weren't taking swipes at Bolton? How exactly is that an opinion? For that matter, why does she falsify Quinn's words? Hear.

The quote is obviously doctored; rules that apply to journalists (like don't put quotation marks around phony quotes) obviously are beneath the tail-waggers. But changing "a lot of" to "a lotta"--why engage in such a petty, crude lie?

12:07pm Asman said there was a "massive terror sweep" in Baghdad to intro "exclusive video"...the usual night-raid videos (soldiers bashing down doors & ransacking houses, terrified children crying, sleepy Iraqi adults being hustled away from their distraught families).

Not surprisingly, nancy's description of the video proves to be a tissue of lies [QuickTime video clip]:



Um, nancy, where are the soldiers bashing down doors? Where is the ransacking of houses? How about the terrified children crying? Or the distraught families? In a (by now familiar) phrase, nancy made it all up.

Asman's ploy became clear: he asked Nelson if "you guys" are "gonna filibuster" Bolton. Nelson calmly replied that it may not get that far & started to explain Senate procedure. Asman turned to Cornyn...

"Started to explain" is a typical trick, implying a colloqus interruptus. But it's another fabrication. Cornyn was asked a question, and he didn't "start" to answer it, he answered it:

NELSON: There are going to be holds placed on his nomination. Now what the process is after that I don't know. We're dealing with it in the committee. He may not get out of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
ASMAN: Now forgive my ignorance, but when you say a hold, is that different from a filibuster?
NELSON: Well, it would lead to that, because you have to, after a hold is placed, by Senate custom you have to go to a motion to proceed, and in order to prevail there has to be 60 votes.
ASMAN: All right. Well, again I'm sorry, Sen Cornyn that we got these procedural things out of the way...

Asman turned to Cornyn & asked him about a filibuster. Cornyn didn't explain...

ASMAN: ...but you used to be a judge, you were a judge for 15 years. And all of these questions about a filibuster, whether it will be done away with by Republicans or not, boils down to how it's being used to deal with judges primarily, correct?
CORNYN: Well that's right.

That was all Asman asked Cornyn "about a filibuster", and Cornyn answered it. What made the deceitful dane think Cornyn was being asked to explain something? Nothing. Nancy made it up.

12:43pm Asman showed a clip of Santorum & called him "one of the possible cracks in the wall" of GOP support for DeLay, then interviewed Martin Frost (Dem) & Frank Donatelli (GOP)....Donatelli then trotted out a standard GOP ploy -- change the topic, attack someone else. In this case, he attacked the DA in TX who has indicted 3 DeLay associates...

If anyone is well-versed in standard ploys, it is nefarious nancy. This one requires her to lie about who changed the topic. Turns out it was not Donatelli at all, but Democrat Frost (a Fox News employee, though nancy doesn't tell you that) who first brought up the subject:

FROST: Three of his political associates of course were indicted in Texas...
DONATELLI: I would just note based on what the Congressman said that the fact that associates have been indicted, believe me, if this guy in Texas had anything on DeLay, I assume he would've done the same thing to him by now.

Oh, and if you're wondering where exactly Mr Donatelli "attacked the DA in TX"--all together now--nancy made it up!
