Those linked weekly numbers for MSNBC are pretty bad, I wonder what Universal is thinking....
The same can be said of all of NBC....the only bright spot....SNF.
And FOX NEWS?....Well those numbers are looking pretty good. It looks like "fair and balanced" will continue to have a role to play in keeping people informed.

Real hate is the story covered by Greta in her interview of Governor Palin yesterday.
While I do not condone what happened to Palin's church, I still believe that some of the things she said during the campaign was hate also, and that did make her a target of extremist. Maybe she should have listened to people like Nicolle Walker and statyed quiet about certain things ( hanging out with terrorist etc...) Things might have been different then, but Palins ego was too much for anyone in McCain's camp at the end. If you need proof read the November 10th issue of Newsweek.
But by all means I do not condone, I just think her hate talk made her and sadly her church a target for extremist.

And not even on a show from today, at that. By the way, my DVR cut off at the end of yesterday's F&F, so I didn't get the last few seconds. But up to where it cut off, I didn't hear any mention of a 'holiday party' from Gretchen or anyone else.
Of course, we could assume she did say it in those missing few seconds...if she did, that would mean that sometimes she says 'holiday' and sometimes she says 'christmas'. Which proves the square root of zero. Only a hater would cite that as proving anything whatsoever.

Newsweek and Time are the gold standard when it comes to political coverage in the magazine form, and another thing is these were actual quotes coming from McCain staffers about Palin, the same quotes that were printed in time magazine and also reported on Cnn, MSNBC and BBC America.

I think the difference between the sort of obsessive hatred that Ashley alludes to is with the sort of person who will troll opposition blogs simply to gig the participants there. As you do, Patrick.
You offer nothing really.
It's like the people at OW who denied giving a fig about Olbermann. They were there at an opposition blog merely to gig and to insult and to play sock puppet and strawman sock puppet. That they also spent a great amount of time trying to thwart the blog owner was an indication of things too.
You can't have engaged in practices like that and also expect to be viewed as an honest broker of ideas when you do, at some point make a rebuttal more cogent than the specious "Gretchen used the term holiday party".
Of course this is all self-evident in real life, it's just on the internet that you somehow think you should be afforded the respect and trust your behavior has undermined.
I've often wished that the friends and families of the Patricks, the Patsys, the Cluckers, the Whydoyoucares, the HFs, etc...could see how they have acted online.
Doubtlessly, to some extent, these people absolutely must be in the process of being some sort of prey for these characters too.

He announced--several times--that he was done here and would be starting his own site. And then he was back again!
Ultimately, we disposed of Patrick because he unapologetically refused to address his personal attacks. That led to a series of manic, sometimes vulgar emails (at which time I managed to figure out how to bounce his raving messages back without having to even see them).
And here he is again. Why? What is it that impels him to repeatedly hide his identity and cross-dress as someone else? Does insulting other people make him feel superior? Is he adopting these multiple personalities because he knows he can't live down his previous behavior here?
Alas, we shall never know the answers to those questions.

I'll answer one question: Yes, insulting other people does make him feel superior. Sadly, there are people like that. Besides tracking me down at TVNewser to respond to my comments in a manic, vulgar manner (not today, but previously), Patrick has left a series of manic, vulgar comments at my blog; and left a manic, vulgar message for me at Facebook. In that case, I had to report the message to Facebook and have him blocked.
Knowing him, he will be back in some form. You watch.
