One day after George Tiller was murdered, some anti-military nut killed some people outside a recruiting center in Little Rock. So go ahaead, Olbermann. Use this same kind of "logic" and place the blame on Code Pink, World Can't Wait, Medea Benjamin, etc.

Wow... the "Obscene hatelist" really WAS obscene.
What a disgusting and pathetic "article."

I agree, INB. I merely skimmed the hatelist, but I got the gist of it. Guy hates conservatives and supposed conservatives at FNC. I hear Keith calling for this guy.

POLITICO stupidly linked to it yesterday under the title, "Playboy's 'Top 10 Conservative Women We Hate to Love'." The true title was "The Top Ten Conservative Wmen They'd Like to 'Hate-f**k'." They are now apologizing.....

Boy, I wonder what the outcry would have been if a list of "progressive" women was compiled under the true listing, "women we'd like to 'hatef*ck.'"

Kurtz was reasonable, although I do not think he went far enough in exposing the true agenda for people like Olbermann...it's all about demonizing the opposing point of view to such an extent that there is effective intimidation present to mute that side of the debate.
I am proud to say O'Reilly showed he was not intimidated.

Where's the outrage from NOW? If this have been a list of Liberal Women they would be out in full force all over the media...

Cee, Kurtz didn't inform the readers what Bill O'Reilly's investigation on Dr. Tiller was about. It was about not reporting child rape to the proper authorities after performing late term abortion...

I can't find the cable program ranker anywhere. Has anyone seen it?
It used to be on TVByThe Numbers.
Thanks.

The haters at News Hounds just can't get enough of smearing Bill O'Reilly over the Tiller murder. They have written 5 screeching posts about the issue and have left so much out of each one that they pretty much showed their bias and agenda of going after Fox on some really stupid stuff.
Once again, especially the Hater in Chief, Priscilla, they have thrown only the partial story out there and their little sheep follow along like the ignorant people that they are.
It really is very sad. Hating just to advance an agenda.

The fact that COUNTDOWN is down in the ratings would not have been known to me reading MSNBC's release on all of their ratings successes in May. I suppose giving the fair, the whole picture is even difficult for NBC NEWS' PR department.
Maybe we will see more unhinged behavior from Olbermann as he tries to change the trends. Howard Beale moments do make for the "rubber-neckers" audience.
In regards to respect from collegues and a display of integrity....
Olbermann's train left the station years ago.

The interesting thing about the Playboy piece is that it COULD have been funny. For a moment, in the first paragraph, it WAS that.
Not even addressing the obscenity factor, had it not been so over the top in the Nazi comparisons and the usual oh-so-enlightened "dumb slut" mentality we see from liberal men towards conservative women, it actually could have been part arch, part ironic, part silly and self-effacing-- all the things that make for comedy.
Instead what we got was a glimpse of the writer exposing a dogmatic and disdainful mind, nastier and smaller than anything he said about these women.
What we also got was an equal response from the Salon writer. Though she chided the Playboy blogger, in my mind she exhibited the same amount of puzzling intransigent hatred.
This sort of reeking gall towards political opponents is generally seen in the "rank and file" citizenry. The everyday Joe or Jill who comments on a blog board, rather than among professional commentators, writers, etc.
What's happened with the hatred for the past administration is that the best, the brightest, the most professional within liberal circles, now sound on par with Daily Kos and Free Republic Joe Blows, the way their conservative peers and counterparts do not.
That these sort of people hate us so completely, truly makes me afraid for our future within our country's national life.

I found the Playboy writer's usage of "nattering naybobs" to be very funny.
Otherwise it was high school quality writing, complete with pointless juvenile insults and ad hominem attacks against women who are obviously much more successful and intelligent than he (Guy Cimbalo) is.

"Nattering nabobs of negativism" is one of the most popular turns of phrase associated with U.S. Vice President Spiro T. Agnew. Agnew, who had a particularly acrimonious relationship with the press, used this term to refer to the members of the media, whom he also deemed "an effete corps of impudent snobs."

As that description was coined long before MSNBC and the hatemongers of Matthews, Olbermann, and Schuster; one can only imagine what Mr. Agnew, if he were still alive, would have to say today.

That's why I found the usage to be so funny. The writer said he wanted to "natter" someone's "naybobs". Some might have called them "funbags" much to the hounds' false outrage!!

Absolutely Ashley, back then the press was polite and tried to be nonconfrontational. If you ever saw the movie Idiocracy, their depiction of the future Fox news relative to today's Fox news was a good comparison to the news 40 years ago and now.
