F&Fs this morning was better than most weekend shows. I like Ainslee (sp?) and Briggs together, I still could do without Morris though.

The UParty show last night was lame. Watching a bunch of nuts freezing in the streets. I will be so gland when the new years stuff is over and they go back to regular programs and quit running reruns over and over.

Wow - looks like many of us are lamenting the fact that both Gibson and E.D. are out of jobs at FNC. Very sad - both were very capable and very talented contributors.

Missy! My Head hurts enough today (body too! Many Omega 3's today!)
Gibby left radio?
E.D. had a nice run at FNC, here's to E.D. havin' a nice time at home with the Family, writing books, taking the kids to school, and doing general mommy stuff .

BTW: Johnny, No mention of 'The Dhue'? Didn't Laurie leave early in 08'?

I voted for Chris Jansing, that was the final nail for me when AMESS let her go.

I'm no fan of Hannity but, I think that's an 09' story which we will see unfold I guess, starting next week.

Happy New Years all! And as I think Bette Davis once said. "Strap you're selves in. It looks like were in for Bumpy ride!"

Her name is spelled Ainsley, Kirk. Ainsley Earhardt.
I mostly watched "UParty 2009" between 11:45 and 12:56. That part was primarily good. I muted the TV for the songs.

You're welcome, Kirk.
Missy, John Gibson is still at Fox News Radio. I've said this before, but I hope that E.D. doesn't end up at a competing cable news channel, especially not the one whose mother station is showing the NHL Winter Classic right now.

You know, HLN could do a lot worse than hiring E.D. Maybe they could put her on mornings, and we'd have E.D. vs Kiran vs Gretchen.

HLN already has a morning anchor in Robin Meade.

You might find something to help you with that hangover in Haggis's tin, Chippy.

Hope you had a nice night FF. Haggis's tin took a mighty pounding last night and is now sadly empty. I think the only remedy for my predicament is a wee dram then sleep.

Before you ask Chippy, yes I deleted one of your messages. Because you have a record of falsity, I don't believe what you post, and ergo your participation here is limited.

That's precisely what I thought you'd come up with. You want me to believe that you are sitting there watching Fox, at what would be something like 5:00 am your time (if we believe that), and saw something that you found incredibly offensive. And so did the black people who were watching it with you.

So incensed were you that you said nothing about it here. Not a word. Until many hours later, when something else happened: it showed up at Think Progress and the Newshounds. Only then did you all of a sudden find yourself so offended that you had to tell your tall tale here.

See, I don't believe that. I believe you troll for Fox smears on the internet, and cut and paste them with relish when they turn up. Then, to disguise what you are doing, you invent elaborate tales (not quite as elaborate as moving into someone else's house however) to give yourself some sort of false credibility. Which is the only kind you'll ever have.

That's why I don't believe you. And why I deleted your message.

Did Mr Reliable say that the "African-American" friends that he parties with in Edinburgh...were offended?

If so, should we take it that his African-Scot and Africian-Brit friends were grievance free in the wee wee wee hours of yon Edinburgh morning?

The claim is true....But you skirt around that by saying you don't like the way I put it...So you then delete it....You'll save face for FNC anyway you can...I understand.

No and I don't expect you'll post this either.

I never said your claim wasn't true. I said I believe you cut and pasted it from an internet site, and made up a lie about how you found it. That's a little bit more than not liking the way you put it, Haggie. You keep defending the claim but make no defense at all of your fairy tale description of how you came across it. That speaks volumes.

As for FNC there is no face to save. For someone to cite a Los Angeles Times headline in a text message is nothing to be ashamed of. Unless of course you have an ulterior agenda, which clearly you and your smear site sources do.

So that ends this issue, at least with Chippy/Haggis/HSUK/nom de jour.

What were black people offended at anyways? I checked NH and didn't find anything but a link to FNC's site with pics of all the hottest female bods of '08. Thanks, NHs!

In the new years eve scrolling text messages along the bottom of the screen, someone said they hoped the 'magic Negro' would do well in 2009. This citation of a headline from a black LA Times columnist was immediately declared 'racist'!

I guess that could be considered racist by some card players. This honkey-ass cracka could care less about P.C. feigned offenses, however. Magic negro who lives in D.C. C'mon, it's funny!

IF anyone at FNC intentionally let that message through, it was ill-advised in my opinion.

However, if someone wants an example of the phenomenon that the term "magic negro" represents they need look no further than what Chippy did in his post.

It wasn't enough for him to say that he found the screen shot on the web and that he was offended. Chippy had to allude to friends of color who were offended as well, in order to give the sense of offense greater moral coinage.

That's precisely the point that the very REAL (unlike the black friends in Edinburgh who saw the FNC thing in real time-- which Chippy made up) writer of the LA Times piece was making by using the magic negro term. The term represents the bestowing of an iconic status on some person or fictional character that goes beyond their individual qualities and merit. Chippy's mythical iconic black friends were insulted, therefore what FNC did was VERY bad indeed.

Thanks for the choice example of how archetypes (like the "magic negro") inform our thinking, Chippy!

Of course we all know that the phrase "Magic Negro" was coined by a left wing columnist of the Los Angeles Times. This person used the term to refer to Barack Obama.

I guess Haggis is incensed that anyone would hope that Barack Obama would do well in 2009. However, I don't believe that anyone on FNC said "I hope the magic negro does well in 2009". Afterall, Chippy/Haggis/Spider/et al is a liar, and I just can't believe a word he/she says.

Excellent post.

I hope we get to a point where no one is criticized or commended for their "color". No one is supported or thrown under the bus for their color. No one gets a job or loses a job or promotion for their "color". No one gains or loses out on admission to a school for their color.

I too would be very distressed if someone at FNC made that statement. I've heard garbage like that on other news channels, I would hate to see it on Fox.

I understand now, it wasn't an FNC host, it was from a viewer. It was approaching midnight in NY when FNC began scrolling text messages submitted by viewers. That didn't last long, so Haggis would have to have been in a pub with his friends between 5-7 AM.

Perhaps Haggis should worry more about the way his friends at MSNBC treated Niger Innes.

J$ - EXCELLENT Olbermann awards over at OW. Runners on first, second, and third. Batter steps up to the plate, the pitch is thrown, the ball is hit.....and it's over the center outfield wall. A Grand Slam!

I now understand Haggy's support for Olbermann, that even existed BEFORE he figured out how to watch eps of countdown on the net a few weeks ago. Remember, MSNBC is not telecast where Haggy claims to live.

I understand the support. It's that whole "birds of a feather" thing.

Well, the idiots over at newshounds are now criticizing FNC's Bill Hemmer for "stealing" their slogan. Not stealing part of their slogan, but stealing their slogan.

Hemmer said last night

"We're gonna freeze so you don't have to!"

Is that their slogan????

If the newshounds are going to comment on FNC using the "So you don't have to" bit, don't I recall a slogan from KFC, decades before the Newshounds existed "We do the cookin, so you don't have to"?

Another slogan stolen by NewsHounds.

The stupid bassets, accusing Bill Hemmer of "stealing" their slogan, when they have really stolen the slogan. Dopes.
