I would recommend that you take what you read in that piece with a grain of salt.

I was unable to watch my "shows" this weekend, so I am curious if any of the cable news or broadcast news political programs provided any analysis of the Cazayoux/Jenkins race? The dynamic of the district and the race are so interesting, and the outcome (Cazayoux very narrowly winning a seat held by the Republicans since Desegregation) is subject to so many interpretations. Jenkins tried very, very hard to make the race national, and he seems to have failed. Any portend? I am particularly curious as to comments by Barone, if any. Since I haven't been able to link to any, I assume there were none?

I realize Stephanopolus is not cable news, but I saw a replay of his "discussions" with Clinton. He seemed to flummox here on the gasoline tax pandering, but went strangley silent when the subject of her mythical opposition to NAFTA during the (Bill) Clinton years arose. This strikes me as an interview that should never have taken place. Stephanopolous was far too compromised.

Stephanopolus is very loyal to Hillary and not her husband, it was her that saved him when Bill wanted to get rid of him

Everything I have read suggests you are correct, Peggy. As such, do you think Stephanopolous should have been conducting this session under the auspices of a news program?

The incorrect names... the misstated facts... the paranoia...

It was about as fair and informative as the moyer/wright and the olbermahn/obama 'interviews.'

You may be overlooking the essential point, however: Stephanopolous was once employed by the Clintons. Wright never employed Moyers, and Obama never employed Olbermann.

I have read that Gregory's ? hour was going to be linked with Maddow and her Err America show.

Has it started yet and what are the mechanics of it, ie will Maddow be split screen, audio only or do her show from MSNBC?

My wish came true on Friday evening. The Factor with guest host Laura Ingraham more than doubled the audience for Countdown with it's regular host. KOing KO!

This is purely a technical question to help me know what people are seeing. I tend to avoid using special characters because they can get all bollixed up by browsers etc. But in this post I did use them at the bottom in "espanol" and "expose". If these look like they're supposed to (a curly over the "n" in "espagnol" and a slash over the final "e" in "expose") that's fine. You don't have to post that you see them OK. But if these words look goofed up or have garbage characters in them on your screen, I would appreciate it greatly if you post what you see. That way I'll know not to try getting fancy next time!

I can see them, too.
Will we still see Jeanine Pirro on FNC despite this new CW show?
"The Ingraham Factor" and "Countdown" cut it pretty close in the demo Friday night: 376K-313K. Total viewers weren't even close, but the young'uns seem to love Oralmann. OTR and AC360 tied. Wow.

Thanks for the reports. I don't know if Pirro will be seen on FNC, but if she is, it will be far more occasionally than now. I recall that Judge Napolitano disappeared from Fox to do a tv judge show for a year ("Power of Attorney"); even though he was doing the show he still made occasional appearance on FNC. The show did well but he didn't like doing the show trials as much as legal and political commentary so he was back full-time at FNC within a year.

nuance mike, or something else at work? You don't think "host" vs "guest host" is a factor. Stop with the love for KO spin.

I'm not a Page Hopkins fan. I think F & F needs a female host with more gravitas than has been the case, but Page seems too heavy-handed.

Someone mentioned (it may have been Johnny) that E.D. Hill would be a good candidate for that slot. I agree! If we can't have her back on the daily show (though I've come to like Gretchen) it would be nice to see her weekends.

It usually comes from partisans in attack mode. Now, watch me get jumped on for saying that.

Good for Roberts and CNN cooling the Wright repetition. Virtually every quantitative measure we have indicates that the story was not gaining the ratiings the networks envisioned and that most viewers and potential voters found it largely irrelevant. Yet, a number of personalities, notably Hannity and Gregory, have been reduced to mere parrots: "Rev. Wright. Rev. Wright. Rev. Wright." Frankly, I think Roberts is justifiably proud. BTW: Unless I am mistaken, Gregory was a full 25 minutes into his show today before Roberts became a substantive topic, and then only briefly.

Some kudos to the unfortunate and insufferable Tweey: the opening segment with Fineman, Todd and (Linda) Douglas was an exceptionally learned and articulate discussion. Also, calm and respectful. A high water mark of sorts for cable news.

I hardly find the Rev. Wright story irrelevant and neither do most people I know (I'm talking real life, not partisan internet life here). It's one of the few insights to the pre-primary unknown Obama's personal life. And it's not pretty.

BTW OTM, those comments from weekend open thread were rather inflammatory and struck against the quality of your character, and you didn't respond for explained reasons. I'm interested in the private addressing you mentioned...

Okay. I wasn't even dissenting in that earlier comment. I was just saying "well, I guess the young far-left people are the reason Keith got such a high demo rating." David took it as "I'm a young person and I love Keith Olbermann."

Speaking of Keith, tonight was probably the highest height of Olbypocrisy ever achieved. He made Olbermann a "worst person" for doing something Olby himself did, and more than once. The recap is up at OlbyWatch.
