'A Very Big Shoe Dropping on Michelle Obama Tomorrow'

J$P Video! Is Bob Beckel's bombshell for real?

From Fox & Friends, June 3 2008

puck30
I saw this. I haven't seen Mrs. Obama for weeks ever since Barack came out with the lay off my wife comment.

HMmmmmmmmmm!

We will have to stay tuned no doubt!!

Just my thought, and mine alone. But the DNC always figured that Barack was going to fade. But he never did.

It can't be the Republicans because if this is that bad. Why not save it till October? Wouldn't make sense to drop it now.

The Clinton's?

Things that make you go.....

HMmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!

Ms. Obama has been actively campaigning in several states and in Puerto Rico. There have been a couple of family appearances as well, since the "lay off my wife" comment.

Definitely strange. FReepers have an article posted from Larry Johnson's site (he's a Hillary supporter), and it does sound like it's the "whitey" tape. But as you state, why would the Republicans drop it now? It would have benefitted Hillary earlier this week, that's for sure.

And re: Bob Beckel - I can't believe him saying how he promised Fox he wouldn't mention who he was supporting. He's CLEARLY for Obama, and has been so for months, it seems. He seriously thinks no one has noticed?

Has she been on any cable programs?
Or done any interviews?

Except for clips I get off the Internet. I only watch maybe a half hour of News a day. (Local, CNN, FOX)

I just haven't seen Ms. Obama on t.v. or read about her in any of the Local newspapers.

Maybe what I should have asked was.

'Are her appearances very controlled?"
Does Ms. Obama do any interviews after.

It's one thing to go on CBS, NBC, ABC, Cable

It's another thing to go out hang out at some 'center for whatever.'

Puck:

I can't really answer your question. I have seen clips of her and saw her offer a few comments at a campaign event in Puerto Rico, but I haven't personally seen an interview.

When Missy mentioned Larry Johnson things began to click, and I think I know what this is. If I am right, it will add fodder to the viruently anti-Obama people who would never have voted for him anyway, but otherwise, it will have little or no impact.

This is way off topic, and I do apologize for that.

Just goes to show how much t.v. news I DON'T WATCH anymore.

From today's show how Beckel said he woudn't say and he would stay out of it, just made me think. I woudn't want to get into a poker game with this guy.

Dang, if she's on tape saying 'Whitey'. ( wonder what else is there? and just where was it taped?)

Again why now if it's the Republicans, except.

Is it to throw the whole nomination off the tracks and down the side of the mountain?

Dumb move! Makes no sense! (at this point in time.)

If it's The Clinton's? Remember, the most loyal are still in the camp.

If she said 'Whitey' on a tape somewhere. What was said before or after that word will be the detemination as to weather this is a big or not such a big story.

Larry Johnson is sticking to his guns, now claiming knowledge that the shoe will drop tomorrow. He sites John Fund on Laura Ingraham's radio show.

He also has a nice picture of Ms. Obama with a group including Mother Khadijah Farrakhan, the dear Mrs. Loius Farrakhan.

I would not be surprised if Ms. Obama has said something really intemperate in the past. Suppose there is a bomb forthcoming tomorrow. The question then is which campaign (if any) is responsible. If the Republicans, then the timing is too early. If the Clintons , the timing is too late.

Larry Johnson is a kind of nutty ex-CIA guy with some very bizarre opinions. (He told us Osama was no threat shortly before the 9/11 attack.) Because of those kinds of viewpoints he's been invited on Countdown several times to expound. But as a rabid Hillary supporter he is unlikely to appear any time soon. He's more than a little "out there" and nothing he says should be taken without several grains of salt.

I'm curious too as to where the Mrs. Obama using the term "whitey" rumor came from.

Many times on the eve of some devastating blow, political operatives will put out erroneous information far worse than the impending bombshell in order to make the "real" thing seem less a big deal by comparison.

How's this for triangulation.

The Clintons were geniuses at taking damaging information about to be revealed by one news outlet, and pre-emptively giving it to the Washington Times or even The American Spectator in order to give it the taint of partisanship.

The Clintons know that if HRC released this "bombshell" she'd be damaged goods in her party. They give it to a Republican outlet, knowing that the Republicans will hang onto until the Dems have a nominee.

In the meantime the Clintons make deals with Obama as to campaign debts and such, rush to put out the word that HRC would consent to being on the ticket with Obama, all the while knowing that he soon be wounded.

If Obama is hurt bad enough not to be elected, she's in a better position (than currently) to be a shoe-in for 2012? :D

Vince, I haven't seen or heard the term "fruit" in more years then I care to remember.

I remember one time my older brother called one of the neighborhood boys "you big fruit" without knowing I was lurking in the bushes. I milked that singsong "I'm going to tell Mama what you said" for at least a couple of weeks. Fond memories of childhood does give one a little lift. I am sure that Megyn Kelly got the same lift when she talked about her cat fight on Fox (didn't think I could link it to cable news did you, J$?).

But think how far this country has come.I've met people who sincerely believe that blacks just aren't smart enough to be full participants in society. And now an articulate, educated, black Constitutional scholar and intellectual is thought by some to be an "elitist snob".

I guess that's progress.

"And now an articulate, educated, black Constitutional scholar and intellectual is thought by some to be an 'elitist snob.'"

Whether one is content to live in a trailer park or needs a lobbyist generated million dollar home, such flaws of character like elitism knows no particular race, creed or national origin.

What is what is ironic in this election....

The white commentators on MSNBC seem to be caught up in what David Ehrenstein discussed in OBAMA THE 'MAGIC NEGRO."....he says,

"[Obama is] there to assuage white 'guilt' (i.e., the minimal discomfort they feel) over the role of slavery and racial segregation in American history, while replacing stereotypes of a dangerous, highly sexualized black man with a benign figure for whom interracial sexual congress holds no interest."

http://tinyurl.com/2qu2sw

That is exactly what many (like Tim Russert and Keith Olbermann) are framing the achievement as and that is fine....no foul....but the position demands more that just a symbolic event that softens the poor history of racism for those who feel ashamed....it is about who is best to serve as President and that remains to be seen.

The staged events, teleprompter derived speeches and symbols should fall away to be replaced by a Lincoln/Douglas debate season that really tests both this "green" Senator from Illinois and the old guy from with the long resume. That is what the press should now focus on if they are truly objective and finders of the truth.

Senator McCain has made such a challenge and only David Axelrod has, of late, resonded vaguely in the affirmative. We will see if SNOBamessiah is up for the challenge.

A Lincoln/Douglas style debate would be wonderful.I think we will see it.But someone's response to a debate challange before the primaries were over is not very telling.

BTW,did you see the Fox report on this where they put up a photo of Frederick Douglas. Don't know if it was a mistake (a big one),a joke aimed at the audience,or a joke aimed at the anchors, but it was pretty funny.

As a conservative, SNOBamessiah is an easy call, notveryhow....he is proabortion and heavy government regulation of major free industries. Moreover, he is a neophyte national security-wise and this is what worries me the most about him becoming President. His stand on Iraq has been totally derived from political calculation and not principled at all. This is not a good character trait for the CIC.

SNOBamessiah is simply my play on his candidacy. It has been all symbol, emotion and style. Along with this has been an attitude of elitism as he tries to provide an element gravitas from his leftist leanings....he is a snob.

Radicalism is never a good choice, whether it be on the right or the left, this is the definition of being a conservative. Measured, respectful, RATIONAL change (reform) is a necessary component of any healthy society, but "change" for change sake is a disaster waiting to happen.

I know a number of moderate Republicans who have been HORRIFIED about the past 7 years. So one persons Radical is another's left-of-center moderate.

Obama is a snob?Have you met him?Who is he a snob towards? And how important would that be in a rational world?

His stand on Iraq? He was opposed to the invasion before it was popular to oppose the invasion.Where is the political calculation in that?

As for symbol, emotion and style, that is how elections are won.I seem to remember a simple cowboy fella who was just plain spoken folk.Wasn't that image?

But you know,I liked the 2000 John Sidney, before he started cozying up to those he had once called 'agents of intolerance".He also opposed the Bush tax cuts, before he was in favor of expanding them.

Well, if that's the point, then John McCain or Hillary Clinton took no less a risk and showed no less courage. Both HRC and McCain ran the risk of being damaged if the war with south, as has been borne out.

McCain has continued to support it despite its national unpopularity and WHILE running for NATIONAL office.

Goodness! Joe Liebermann (who FNC's Alan Colmes waggishly suggested for McCain running mate) had to run as a third party candidate over his continued sticking to how own principles.

In just this thread alone, nvh, you've met a number of people who think African-Americans are "too dumb" to hold high office, while having met no one who is "for" abortion.

I'll be so bold as to say that the reverse is likely true for you. Most of us have met people we suspect might be capable of believing such things about nonwhites, but who have never uttered those words.

On the other hand, semantical arguments about what "for" means aside, the writers, political figures, down to college classmates... who have defended the right to abortion have often outrightly defended it as being not only a vital means of population control in the third world, but as an almost sacred tool for ensuring the emotional and mental health of a woman.

As for your statements about Obama's courage, if you make no differences between the act of defending something when there is a real, rather than potential cost, then you've stated nothing about courage at all. You certainly haven't defended anyone. Again, you've essentially said nothing.

I DID? Who are they?

If a person believes that a woman has a right to an abortion,if she should so choose, then you call them "pro-abortion".Do you believe that a person should have the right,as an American,to smoke tobacco. If you say yes, then by your logic, you are "pro-smoking".

"if you make no differences between the act of defending something when there is a real, rather than potential cost, then you've stated nothing about courage at all."

So McCain is courageous for supporting continued involement in iraq because there is now a real cost? Then certainly there was a real cost for opposing the invasion in 02,when it was really unpopular, and "if you're not with us,you're against us".Heck, some ugly cusses screamed at us about supporting Al-Qeaida at a demonstration one day.People have been shot at anti-war demonstrations.

"I'll be so bold as to say that the reverse is likely true for you. Most of us have met people we suspect might be capable of believing such things about nonwhites, but who have never uttered those words."

What does that mean? If that's an insult, could you spell it out a little more clearly. If not, could you explain what it means.

This isn't a bad discussion, certainly not when compared to some I've had to slog through today. But it's out of place. There are people who come here to discuss cable news, to react to the links in the main post and discuss them. They don't come here to engage in political debates, and I am protecting their proper expectations that a cable news site will discuss cable news, not Iraq, McCain, abortion, or Al Qaeda.

With a click of the mouse I can go to a moderated discussion format where no post is visible until it is approved. I don't want to do that, but if that's what it takes to get people to respect the rules...

nvh,

There's only so much spelling out that I can do for you.

Yes, in this thread you mentioned that you have met people, in the course of your life, who believe that african-americans are too dumb to hold office. (I wasn't suggesting that you were accusing commenters on this thread of that.)

Their is a vast difference in a defense that says that people should have the right to do something that it is inherently harmful to themselves as compared with a defense that argues that the subject (a medical procedure) is one that has objective life enhancing properties (for an individual, a family, a society, the world).

There is a difference between potential risk (the war might go well/or it might go wrong... I might run for office in a wider venue...), and actual risk... I stick to my guns NOW when it DOES hurt me...

Now how am I supposed to know from "In this thread alone",that you were talking about people I've "met in the course of my life"?

"There is a difference".Yes,I suppose there is,and if I didn't disagree with Sen Mccain,I might give him some credit for that. But again, that does not negate the risk, political and social, that early opponents of the war took with a public stand.
