I appreciate Greta's piece on Palin (I appreciate Greta in general...).

When campaigns fail you know that there's going to be some finger-pointing and in order to protect the beloved candidate, the blame is nearly always placed on someone else.

That happened to Teresa Heinz Kerry too, with staffers calling her a diva, an attention hog, and insinuated that John Kerry was under her thumb, etc.

In the case of Palin though, as easy as it is to fall into the woman as victim excuse, the problem was more that Palin was not "one of them". She truly wasn't an establishment "insider" in the sense that she hadn't gone to the right schools, didn't have the right political connections, didn't have and/or hadn't even aspired to a certain cultural status, had no personal financial success.

Palin was the quintessential nobody and was not considered worthy in that sense and even MORE importantly in the sense that (they felt) she hadn't paid her dues.

Well, now she's taken some knocks, done some due paying and I'm hoping she's going to be around for a long time.

Here's to you, girl! What doesn't kill you, makes you... well, you know the cliche...

The Cable Game blog on Matthews just has to be dead-on. Surely even baby boomer Camelot/utopia nostalgia for an era when the media protected Democratic rock star JFK (and the rest of the country...) from the dissemination of info of presidential philandering (even with a mob moll), cannot explain Chris' utter loss of perspective.

This simply MUST be a matter of personal ambition.

Regarding Palin, DRUDGE REPORT is saying Greta will be interviewing the governor for an airing on FOX Monday.

I hope Palin gives more interviews, because it is terrible the way she is being dumped on by whispers. Right or wrong, the way she is being treated is unfair.

By the way, my page loaded a lot quicker today. Maybe that map thing is fixed.
