Dobb's commentary-heavy/news-thin shtick is much more of the FOX than the CNN style anyway. I'd like to see him make the jump. I think the anti-Hispanic raves and the fundamental xenophobia would play well to the FOX audience, too. If Dobbs were to go to FOX, I would think CNN might be willing to subsidize his salary for a couple of years.

I saw the clips of the unfortunate Griff reporting on the 9/12 events by rallying the crowd like a benched quarterback in the 4th quarter. The "ad" likes worse and worse in light of the drip - drip of these sponsorship antecdotes.

That old Boston Market commercial really showcase's Olbermann's talent with being snarky....

It proves once again.....

Pitching ads for dish soap and value meals....that's what Cankles should be doing instead of posing as a TV newsman.

re: Joe

I know I know: Olbermann!!! It's "funny" how Olbermann bashes fox news for "presenting one side" when he does it daily (and lies half the time)

The Olbermann ad story says he is a journalist.

Where in the world would they get such an idea like that?

And he's doing a political commercial? Where are the Henious Hens on this one?

Opps! I forgot. Only Fox News is biased and hypocritical according to the dog washers.

Johnny,

There's a piece on Mediaite about an attendee of the Values Voter conference who explains that FNC's James Rosen and MSNBC's Brian Mooar did disrupt the conference during their reporting, in a way that had other reporters commenting anonymously.

Mediaite made sure to say that the attendee saying this is a critic of Value Voters, which of course, to them means that the guy is credible...

I was really surprised by Mooar and Rosen's really obnoxious responses to the people asking them to pipe down. I was shocked by Norah O'Donnel's response to them from the MSNBC studio.

Whether these attendees were being reasonable or not, by the way these arrogant media members responded (ESPECIALLY James Rosen!), you'd have thought they had shushed the Pope at a Christmas Mass.

Keith Olbermann:

'"I think the stuff that I’m talking about is so obvious and will be viewed in such terms of certainty by history.”'

This is not a statement that could be uttered by any intellectual, or even a stable adult.

THIS is the stuff of narcissistic personality disorder.

If anyone ever wanted to see that disorder encapsulated in a sentence, this is it.

I am pleased to see Sammons' e-mail, and I hope this signals a new committment to journalistic integrity at FOX. I doubt that we will see anything different from the ever-juvenile clown, Griff, but this is still a most welcome change in FOX's SOP.

Sammons email was in response to the incident described in Mediaite.

Please share with us other specific incidents which will back up your claim that this is FNC's standard operating procedure.

It's unfortunate the Sammon needed to write the email in the first place. FNC is a national level outlet and at that level people shouldnt need to be reminded what is ethical and unethical journalistic practices.

That kind of inexperienced mess-up should be found in much smaller markets and not the national stage.

That leaked e-mail will be fodder for either Bests or Worsts on tonight's "Countdown." If so, then Steve Krakauer will "have unsuspected depth, sir." In other words, Keith will go from attacking someone months ago, as he did Steve earlier this year and that guy from AP last August, to suddenly liking them, like he did that AP guy.

I understand that some folks might take offense to what Olbermann says, but he is not a journalist. He comments on the happenings in the news.
When I watch his clips online, I think some things are entertaining. Just like some of the things Jon Stewart does.
Do I consider it news? No.
Canadians prefer news stories to be about what happened. Not about who made them happen . Or why the reporter thinks it happened.
Msnbc and Fox should let folks know what is news and what is commentary.
But then I only get to see the occasional clip on line.
(I think I get a pretty good feel for them though).

Olbermann had a field day with fox news in the #3 story:

Sammon memo
producer caught cheering on crowd
Oreilly value summit
Jesse watters being ambushed
fox news ad flap

and Beck "won" in WPITW for Sept 28th "tweet" (falls on Yom Kippur). Here is the exact beck tweet:

Sept 28. Lets make it a day of Fast and Prayer for the Republic. Spread the word.Let us walk in the founders steps.

Mediate made worse and change congress made worse also because of their post johnny linked to today

14tr, the hosts DO identify their shows as commentary or news. Shep recently even introduced BOR as commentary in his sign off recently. BOR, Hannity, etc are proud to be analysts and commentators. I couldn't watch either of them sit and report hews stories like the nightly local programs. Their opinions and debate are what people tune in for.

What does any of this have to do with Canadians?

First, I have heard Hannity and O'Reilly describe themselves as journalists.

Second, I was just mentioning that Canadians like to keep News and Commentary seperate.
If you get the chance, watch CBC News. Or listen to it on XM radio.
XM radio is good. I get to listen to FOX that way.

David...I would rather praise BSammon for what he did then criticism him if he had chosen not to address the issue.

As the DC managing editor and a VP for Fox he was absolutely right for handling it way he did.

So yes, BRAVO Mr Sammon

He obviously cares about the journalistic integrity of FNC. And that is to be commended

If he had done nothing, I would have been both disappointed and troubled.

For once you and I are in complete agreement, Roadie. Unfortunately, no one has let MSNBC and KO himself in on that totally obvious, to us at least, little secret.

As you can see they hype him as doing a newscast, which implies rather strongly that he is a newsman.

"Keith Olbermann - Countdown with Keith Olbermann- msnbc.com
Keith Olbermann is host of “Countdown with Keith Olbermann.” “Countdown,” a unique newscast that counts down the day’s top stories with Keith’s particular wit and style, telecasts weeknights, 8-9 p.m. ET on msnbc. ... Countdown w/ Keith Olbermann Section Front... "

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3080446/

On my Vios guide Countdown is described "...to offer candid interviews with the top newsmakers...". I find that misleading b/c KO rarely has "newsmakers" on his show. He does, however, tend to have the same revolving group of far left leaning folks from NBC and other venues about ten to one over anyone who actually makes news as opposed to commenting/reporting on the news.

Compare that to FNC's description of his show, Hannity:

"Sean Hannity joined the FOX News Channel (FNC) in September 1996. He currently hosts his self titled program, "Hannity" (Monday-Friday, 9-10 p.m. ET). He is one of the most prominent and influential conservative voices in the country and his program offers a mix of news, commentary, interviews and branded segments such as the Great American Panel -- made up of three nightly in-studio guests from across the political spectrum to discuss the issues of the day....".

Also, compare how it is listed on my Fios guide "...noted author and commentator...".

I'm afraid that you are simply misinformed and obviously mistaken as to the facts surrounding FNC and MSNBC.
