The Friends were hysterical this morning...they were 100% behind Palin using cheat notes.....Carlson said she did it deliberately to show she didn't need a teleprompter LMAO....Obviously Carlson didn't notice that Palin was reading her speech from a written copy on the lectern....hence the reason her head was constantly looking down at said speech.....So she may as well have used a teleprompter. Doocy then chimed in saying he wrote notes on his palms all the time...so that made everything OK. Brian was just Brian and made some attempt at a joke.
Can't wait to hear what Keith has to say about this on Countdown tonight. But I'm really looking forward to seeing the Jon Stewart take down...that will be priceless.

What does whether or not Palin uses notes in her hand or a teleprompter or notes on her podium when she gives a political speech have to do with cable news? I could mention something about Obama's mispronouncing corpsman, but that would out of order as well. FF....Please answer this honestly....No ducking and spinning like Ashley does.
If Joe Biden was found to have little helper notes written on his palm during a Q&A session....wouldn't you be shouting it from the roof tops? The Right continuously go on about Obama using a teleprompter....isn't that a non story also? Maybe if palin used one folks might understand what the heck she was talking about....I give her resignation speech as an example.
“It would be apathetic to just hunker down and ‘go with the flow.’ Nah, only dead fish ‘go with the flow." what does that mean?...She's quitting because she's not a quitter...I don't know. You see how she maybe better of with a 'prompter herself. But she has now boxed herself her in so she can never use on....It's great for the hilarity value...but not so good for her.

1. If Biden had something written on his hand it would cause ironic comments about his staff because it's assumed that he would have prepared typed notecards.
It would also cause ironic comments about him because of Biden's past history of plagiarising.
2."The right" didn't know about the president's dependence on teleprompters until the media started remarking upon it.
There's a difference between notecard outlines and a teleprompter that virtually gives your speech to you word-per-word.
President's have relied on teleprompters in SOTU or Oval Office addresses, they have not relied on them in routine everyday introductions and brief remarks. The president has. THAT is remarkable in the way that's not the case for notecards or smaller reminders such as word jotted down on a card (or a hand).
3. Your sentiments about her speech have nothing to do with the other issue of cribnotes or F&F.

If ads are anything like the UK in the US...they are regional...they may not advertise in your region. When I used to watch the BlinkoTV stream...I got ads related to the Florida region.
February 8, 2010, 7:07:36 PM EST – Like – Reply

Sorry but the question of putting ads in a particular program is not a regional one. It's whether they buy that time on that channel nation-wide. Regional ads almost always run in a cycle, inserted automatically by local cable systems when a slot comes up, with no control over when they'll hit the air other than a general time-frame (daytime, early prime, prime, overnite, etc).
So I take it from your non-answer that no, you've never seen a Star-Kist ad on Glenn Beck. Join the club.

Please be accurate. They never claimed they were pulling ads from anything. They issued a standard PR statement that really says nothing more than they don't have plans to advertise there. Well, duh. If they never did before, why would they now? And if they did, then howcum I never saw an ad from them? Could it be that the ad was sold to local cable companies, and not to FNC? I dunno, and it sure seems like you dunno either.
Still some people like to dishonestly portray it as "pulling there (sic) ads from a show". Or "dumping" the show. Tell me Haggie, before you dump a girl friend don't you have to at least have met her first?

That suggests to me that they have aired ads on the Beck programme in the past....just because you haven't seen them doesn't mean a thing....I know you'll muddy the waters with all your legal speak...but why would they not just simply issue a statement saying...we've never show ads on the Beck programme?

Probably for the same reason that other companies have used very similar wording. PR to get annoying, vulgar callers to stop typing up their phones and harassing their receptionists. You are of course correct that my not seeing a Star-Kist ad doesn't mean they didn't run them. But it does suggest they did so infrequently, or via local cable systems which would mean nothing whatsoever to FNC. I have it on fairly good authority that there is a waiting list for Beck advertisers, so if one should cancel, there is another waiting to come in. And given the increasing viewership they can charge more for the replacement advertisers than the ones who left. Gee, that almost makes it seem like FNC will make MORE money if Star-Kist actually WAS a Beck advertiser and has decided to go elsewhere. Excellent, excellent.

I didn't say there were vulgar callers to Star-kist. But there have been vulgar callers to some other companies, at least according to the people who have been quoted about them. So I extrapolate from that prior pattern of behavior and assume that chances are it is no different in this case than in others. But I thought I made it clear with the use of the word 'probably' that I was giving an opinion. A very educated opinion of course, honed by years of sharpened mental acuity and an enviable command of reason, logic, and facts.
