Today's outrage.

Punjab Newsline Network has a right to be outraged. That was a very stupid thing for Beck to say.

Becks off-the-cuff remarks show a certain disregard for cultures other than his own. that being the culture of fear, gold, god, and guns.

The "Today's Outrage" sound right as long as you know nothing about the river...."With large amounts of pollution in this river system, the available water is unsanitary and can increase illness"

A picture of this river.

I also have no idea what Odan is trying to say....but since I dont watch Beck that could be why.

I actually know quite a bit about the river Ganges, firstly, I'd never step a toe into it (Too many corpse's, and, yes, corpse-eaters, among other biohazards). That said, I stand by my remarks- Odan.

I think Odan was saying that Beck showed disrespect for the Hindu religion. And I agree.

The quality of the Ganges has nothing to do with it. There's a few rivers and lakes here in southeast Texas that I wouldn't swim in, much less drink. But that's no reason I'd make fun of those folks who live near them.

Yeah, well...in the same spirit of diversity and sensitivity, long may Beck's culture kick butt...

I suppose congratulations are in order for what's left of CNN. Now perhaps they can rebuild and become a good news organization again.

Anyone that has actually seen the Gange in person would be revolted not only by the site of it but by the smell. I heard Beck say his remark as he said it and knew what was going to happen. He certainly could have made his point without naming name's but t take offense to it show's those taking offense know ths is one of the filthiest river's on earth.

I think ya'll are missing the point in Beck's comment.

“One big river they have there, that sounds like a disease. Come on it does. I mean if somebody said, I am sorry, you have a really bad case of Ganges.”

He wasn't talking about the religion... he wasn't talking about the people... he wasn't really talking about the river! He was talking about the word, "Ganges," which sounds like an internal organ or a disease of some kind in English.

IMO, unless I'm missing something, this was just a goofy joke. I have a friend who (tried) to do stand-up comedy. One of his jokes was, "There sure are foods with odd names. Fruit especially is strange. What's the deal with kumquats? It sounds like something you don’t want your doctor to tell you you’ve got. ‘I’m sorry, sir. But it looks like you’ve got a nasty case of kumquats. And it’s spreading.”

It was a joke about the word... nothing to get your underwear in a bunch about.

Exactly right, Blue. Too many people are way too sensitive.

Racist News Hounds attack black woman as a "token".

Reported by Julie - December 13, 2009 - 8 comments

I posted earlier tonight on Laura Ingraham’s segment Friday night (12/11/09) on the O’Reilly Factor, in which she hosted two African American guests . . . If you haven’t read my previous post, I’ll bet ya dollars to donuts that one is a “token,” speaking the Fox News talking points in lockstep with the right.
********************************

Ingraham and the 2 guests had a good debate about blacks unemployment and the unrepentant liar, Julie, turns it into a smear fest of a black woman, Laura Ingraham and George Bush.

The liar Julie also commented that Rivers suggested that blacks will abandon Obama in "ten months". Well she suggested no such thing. Her statement was that there would be a different tone among blacks and that Obama could lose his base(his base is not all black)

Julie also accuses republicans of obstructionism.

Has she not been paying attention? Democrats have all the votes they need in the house and the senate to pass anything they wish. It is their own democrats who are the obstructionists.

Newsbusters takes note of Fox News hosts grilling Republicans. I see the Newsliars have nothing up on it.

But since we all know that the newsliars don't actually watch Fox News, they just go to the video section to do their "reports" and parrots other left-wing websites, I'm not surprised

News Hounds really are this stupid.

Tax cuts for the rich and business deregulation. Where have we heard that before? Dumbya's policies took a strong economy with budget surpluses and turned it into a giant mess. Budget deficits, high unemployment, failed banks, etc. ad nauseam.

The right-wing Repugs and Fox Noise depend on their target audience having no long-term memory and even less common sense.

Now, let me see. Who was it that prevented Bush from making changes at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? Oh, yes that would be the democrats.

And who was it that pushed for "affordable" housing for the poor, poor, pitiful poor? That would be Barney Frank and Chris Dodd.

The correct name is Dowdell. Rivers was the black man.

At least we correct our errors. Unlike News Hounds.
