Glenn Beck guided by Thomas Jefferson....Wow, what a different picture we see in the clip from that on the left who are determined to marginalize Beck's rather reasonable (yes, as he does it in an unorthadox style) skepticism.
Let's keep on seeing those ratings increase as other skeptical Americans seek alternative opinions and question the conventional wisdom.

when has your Lord and Saviour O'Reilly ever gone out on the streets?
Posted by: john t on Tue 4.7 10:24pm
I could take this moron to school on this comment alone. Does he really believe that O'Reilly, in his entire career, has never been a street reporter?
Like I said. They make it soooo easy.

Blackfon, if I remember the specific place correctly I believe he once covered a story with the Sandanistas in Nicaguaria's jungles.
Maybe Mike will come by and will know for sure.

"Making the case against the emotionally dessicated coverage of the supposedly objective networks, especially in an era of breakdownfinancial, emotional, ethicalmeans showing that, well, youre not afraid to break down"
I'm a bit confused here. I thought that the Post Feminist male wore his emotionality like a Red Badge of Courage.
Now Felix Gillette seems to be dismayed by so many men tearfully showing their soft, tender and weepy side with too much abandon and in, gasp, the most public way to millions on cable news.
I do wish they would make up their minds whether I am supposed to admire or scorn the modern man.

I'm taking the scorn modern man option.

Johnt t is the resident short bus rider at News Hounds so I'll cut him a break.

Hey Blackfon,
How about a more recent trip out by O'Reilly? Like say, the last election, when he tried to get a word with Obama, at one of his campaign stops up in the northeast (I think), and one of Obama's goons tried to block him. There may be more recent ones too, but that is the latest I remember.
Notice that the mutts don't bring up ANY field reporting by their hero Olbermann as a counter. Hmm. I wonder why?

Here is the little ones post where he responds to my comments about JohnT applying the Lord and Savior comment to Bill O'Reilly.

Ashley, what that's all about is another Patrick/Weston lie. Cee posted a link about the 'crying game' article from today's open thread. Patrick/Weston then took that and used it to claim that Cee was making fun of Olbermann and the death of his mother.
Patrick is a liar. The link cee posted has nothing to do with Olbermann's mother. It was a link to something that aired months ago on Olbermann's Hour of Spin. What's more, the version of the link Patrick stuck in his NH thread has been broken so that nobody there who clicks on it can see what link Cee was really posting to.
So Patrick lies about cee, then doctors the evidence to hide his lie.
I wonder what name Patrick will use the next time he tries to bring his lies over here?

J$ - thanks for the info.
He's a pathetic little boy. He posted here under different names claiming he was a moderator at NH. He did it as "Eric Cartman", he did it when he posted as "Caribou Barbie".
Obviously the Hounds wouldn't let a pathetic little boy control any part of their web site, but its amazing that they let him claim he is a mod.

Funny, yesterday I actually posted at OW that I was touched by Olbermann's tribute to his Mom. Oh well. I never credit for being nice.
However.....
When I look at the two segments side by side I really see two different Olbermanns. He (IMHO) genuinely breaks down regarding his mother, but there is an insincerity (IMHO) in the Prop 8 SPECIAL COMMENT.
That was the reason for my snark above and Patrick can go to town on that if he really wants to.
And, (if I may go off topic alittle, J$), Cecelia, how about crying at the end of OLD YELLER?....Come on now, let me be human, for goodness sake!

Well John - the l'il feller can't get enough of you. He called you a liar for saying What's more, the version of the link Patrick stuck in his NH thread has been broken so that nobody there who clicks on it can see what link Cee was really posting to.
I checked, and you are correct. It's obvious that Patrick is not competent enough to place a full link correctly into a post. What he did post was broken, just as you wrote.
Patrick lied again.
I also notice he's quite thin-skinned. He's crying over alleged smears against Keith Olbermann made shortly after Olby's mothers death, yet the l'il feller is so "brave" that he has no trouble praying for the rape and murder of people.

Good post Cee.
I didn't see Keith's comment, but I can certainly understand how difficult it must have been for him. Losing a parent is hard.
When it comes to parent/child and death, there are three ways it can happen:
Child dies before parent
Child dies at same time as parent
Child dies after parent
The good news is its all happened the way it should have happened. Parent passing before child. Parent living a long life and seeing child become a success in their chosen field. I would imagine if was very healing for Olby to be able to say what he did on his program. Olby will be just fine, it's his turn to go through what we all have, or all will go through.
But their false outrage over anyone sliming Olbermann on the day after his mother died, is sheer ridiculous. Would they tone down their rhetoric if it was an FNC person whose parent passed?
Was the left refraining from criticism against Rush Limbaugh when his mother died a few years ago? Not at all.
Patrick prays for people to be raped and murdered, then he complains because I criticed Olby's ratings. He has as just a tad bit more moral standing on the issue as would Ted Bundy, Richard Ramirez, or John Wayne Gacy.

How many times have we heard from the left that KO had better ratings than BOR because of the demo, because the majority of BORs viewers were the "55 to dead" demo.
Well, the ratings show the truth and do not skew to the above kind of thinking.
In both "the demo" and the overall, KOs first run STILL can't beat BORs rerun.
When you combine the first run and first rerun for both shows, to accomodate both East and West Coast viewers, BORs ratings in the demo are about twice KOs.
Mr. Czechoslovakia really ought to be a little more grateful to his "55 to dead" viewers.
Last point, congratulations to Beck, Baier, Shep, Hannity, and Greta for their stellar ratings.

Gee Big Ed is already down? Well, I always wait until one month when one's show does stabalize to give it a true look.
Have to say, it ain't got a good jump out of the batter's box, and then this!
http://newsbusters.org/blogs/p-j-gladnick/2009/04/07/randi-rhodes-ed-schultz-received-startup-money-senate-democrats#comments
Ed moved his show from North Dakota to Washington.
Ed got a front row seat at the Obama press conference.
Ed gets a show on MSNBC.
Isn't some high mucky muck in GE on Obama's team?
So could it be safe to say that even if MSNBC programing gets soo totally bad not even infomercial people will touch it, it won't go away because it will be bailed out?
Then I'm going to make up a t-shirt that says....
Honk, if you think you're taxpayer dollars are funding a crappy cable news channel! MSNBC.

Nice nonapology from Olbermann....What an unprofessional putz.
This piece with Rick Sanchez ripping FNC is pretty bad....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBIpfAl8cpI
But there is a moment of truth at the end at about 8:27.
The left is worried about there being any traction for any criticism of President Obama and seem to have a very coordinated and agressive strategy to address it.
FNC, being the only place with fair and balanced coverage of our leaders, is in for a very long seige.

I had to laugh at O'Reilly and Amanda Carpenter trying to talk about how hackers gain access to power grid computers. Amanda says "it's like a Windows bug where they mimic sort of Office kind of files and what they send looks like an Office file..."
O'Reilly didn't really understand what she was talking about, and she knew even less what she was talking about. I like Amanda Carpenter but she needs to stick to "internet cop" rather than technical analyst.
