When Will Newshounds' Julie Driscoll Tell the Truth?

The newshounds have no qualms about lying to smear Fox News. And suspected plagiarist Julie Driscoll is no exception. Her post tonight is ample evidence:

Fox News - "Fair and Balanced" Over ACORN Ambush . . . Riiiiiiiiiiight
Julie is all a-twitter over the Acorn threat of a lawsuit, but as her headline suggests, she wants the dupes who believe her twaddle to think that Fox News is deliberately not reporting it:
What I have not seen reported on Fox News – despite the fact that the supersleuthing partnership of Giles and O’Keefe is getting uber-coverage, as indicated above -- is ACORN’s position on the recent “expose” by Giles and O’Keefe – maybe because Fox itself is a target of the push-back.
Oh really, Ms Driscoll? ACORN's statement hit the news this morning. Julie's article was posted at 5:48 pm. So let's take a look and see just how accurate Julie's claim is. FNC broadcast two hours of news at 10:00 am, again at 12:00 pm, and then at 4:00 pm. That takes us right up to the time of the Driscoll diatribe. So did they report it or not? Here's what Julie doesn't want you to know:Now in six hours of coverage, the ACORN statement is reported eight times. And here's Julie Driscoll blaring that Fox News isn't 'fair and balanced' because they're not reporting it! She claims "I have not seen it", but given that during each of three broadcasts today it was reported multiple times, how is that possible? Unless of course, Julie wasn't watching Fox so you don't have to, and in fact didn't watch Fox's coverage at all and simply...made it up!

But wait, there's a problem with that too. Part of Driscoll's post is a screengrab from foxnews.com promoting a video. The screengrab itself references ACORN's threatened lawsuit. And when you play the video--guess what?--you see Eric Shawn reporting on the ACORN statement! The very video that Julie features in her post, the one she points to as "indicated above", proves her entire argument to be a fabrication!

It's stuff like this that makes us wonder why any sentient carbon-based lifeform would believe even one syllable from the mendacious mongrels. So the ball's in Julie's court now. Will she retract her false claims and apologize to Fox News for her latest slander? Comments are open for your predictions!

That's priceless! She's the gift that keeps on giving!

I'll bet FNC is saying "bring it on!" about a law suit!

Bring out the voice experts and get a discovery process going on about the backgrounds and the office conduct of those oh-so-helpful-to- pimps ACORN women and anyone else in the office related to the incident.

By all means, let a few attorneys subpoena ACORN records on their hiring processes and who else they've help via tax services and grant applications!

I guess I'm missing something. Why is this significant? I don't think Ms. Driscoll is viewed as a credible journalist. This would be like someone getting upset with a report by Glenn Beck, Lou Dobbs, Sean Hannity, Griff Jenkins, Keith Olbermann, Rick Sanchez, Ed Schultz or Greta Van Susteren. If you watch any of them for enjoyment, great. If you watch any of them for news, you're a fool. I fail to see the point in rehashing this endlessly.

Julie strikes again!!!!

I just read her deceiving piece this morning and this particu;ar sentence caught my eye.

"ACORN has long been a convenient boogey-man of the right-wingers – mainly, I’d wager, because it’s a powerful organization that works to empower people in impoverished areas, including: “Helping hundreds of thousands of African-American and Latino voters register to vote and get to the polls in recent years; Preparing, since 2004, approximately 150,000 free tax returns totaling $190 million in refunds and increased earned income tax credit participation; Providing effective foreclosure prevention advocacy saving thousands of American families from losing their homes to foreclosure.”

What the plagiarist Julie forgets to mention is that Acorn was responsible for getting many of those same people, who are now getting foreclosure notices, bad home loans they could not afford in the firts place by having them lie on their applications.

Hey Stewart, did you watch those videos? The first one was 28secs. The second was 22secs. long. Then the one the scumbag Dollar said was "In Depth" was a whopping whole 1min. long. Fox spent hours bashing them last week. Now is that fair and balanced? And Stewart, why don't you go back and ask your Lord Dollar when Fox ever apologized to anyone. Tell Dollar to put on his big boy pants instead of wearing girl panties.

I have it from a very very credible source.... Yeah, and I have a gut feeling that those now fired Acorn workers weren't exactly members of Mensa.

Which brings me to another point. If Acorn is so sure that these are doctored tapes why in the hell did they fire these workers? hmmmmm??

"The first one was 28secs."

Well, rocket scientist john t didn't seem to catch that those weren't videos I linked to. They were mp3 audio files that quoted from the reports to prove Julie's report false: Fox DID report on the ACORN/Fox lawsuit threat. EIGHT times. Because when we make a claim, we provide the evidence--something that john t might not understand given how often Julie and the newsliars make false claims or lie about Fox with no proof whatsoever. Like this latest instance trying to convince people Fox didn't report on the lawsuit threat.

In all this race baiting by using expressions like "mighty whitey" and such, there's some sort implicit racial and ideological casting going on, that's not just about ACORN critics, but ACORN, the organization.

I went to the site and there's an admonition not to listen to the "rightwing noise machine".

How is it that a non-profit can get away with such politically oriented rhetoric?
September 14, 2009, 10:43:51 AM EDT – Like – Reply

Well, someone has given ACORN the advice that they should fight back in this, rather than just leaving it at firing the clowns, and it's dubious advice, indeed.

ACORN has a lot more to lose than does FNC, and far from making the organization look harried or persecuted in the public eye, publicity from a law suit that gives news organizations a reason to play or link to those tapes, can't be good for them.

If ACORN thinks it can position itself as being more of a martyr in the public eye than the prosecution of the people who set up a sting operation, they are getting terrible advice.

That might please the sort of people like Julie and Ellen, who hate political opponents more than they disapprove of non-profits helping pimps with underaged hookers, but it will drive more average joes into the arms of tea party protest groups, etc.

Good for you.

I regret that I once believed that you were Patrick. I apologize to you Chris for expressing my belief to you, I realize I was wrong.

After following your posts for the past few months, it became obvious that you weren't Patrick. Patrick is simply a stupid little man-boy. He's vile, he's illiterate, he's homophobic. He claims to be a vet, but there is no way that any veteran of the US military would talk to some people the way he does. So, obviously he's lying about being a vet. And I'm not referring to anything he's said to me. He claims he has a mentally disabled child, yet he refers to others as "retard". Since he applies the term with such frequency, one wonders if Patrick refers to his child by that slur. As I said, he's vile. But since he's probably lying about being a vet, then he's probably lying about being a parent.

He can barely string a sentence together. He doesn't have an original thought, his spelling skills are horrendous and his ability to conjugate a verb is even worse.

Personality wise, he has hoped for people to be raped and murdered.

His worst attribute is that he believes that Julie Banderas is a "botoxed filled, makeup caked on skank". That statement only proves that he's gotten too much french fry grease in his eyes.

Fox is reporting that the Brooklyn District Attorney that is responsible for mafia investigations and prosecutions is starting an investigation into the Brooklyn Acorn office.

I commented a few days ago that I am surprised that Acorn has never been pursued under racketeering statues.

Based on Julie et al's constant screams of racism for the reports Fox is carrying on Acorn I wonder how they will react to this investigation.

Well whichever one they sue the results would be the same. Their records would be open to discovery. They would have to turn over everything from every one of the three (tomorrow four) offices the videos were made in, financial records, training materials, a whole ton o' stuff. That's why I suspect ACORN may file a lawsuit against FNC (or BG) but it will be quietly withdrawn before the discovery phase. Of course that's just speculation but I don't think they want to get into a discovery squabble with NewsCorp attorneys.

Actually if they sue FNC chances are that part of the lawsuit might get dismissed via motion before the discovery phase. You can't sue a news organization for reporting news. If they have any suit at all (and it's not clear that they do) it would be with the people who made the videos, not the news channels that reported it.

johnny,

You are so right.
Fox News has already won a case that says a news organisation does not have to tell the truth.
Therefore, a news organisation cannot be sued for liable.
So, Fox News could say that ACORN is a Communist oganisation that is trying to destroy the USA.

But, MSNBC could also say that Fox News is a communist organization that is trying to destroy the USA.

Once you decide that a news organisation isn't required to tell the truth, we lose the only organisation that can watch over the government.

Way to go FOX!! Rupert Murdoch (an Australian, not an American) has destroyed the American Democratic experiment.

And most people thought it would be a Russian.

Well, for one thing, they post a video and then give their opinion on what they thought was in the video. They like to things like "O'Reilly really means this or that"....when it is usually pretty clear what they actually said.

They also like to call Fox people racist without one scintilla of evidence. It's always their opinion that so and so is a "racist".

Well I'm betting you never read the arguments or the ruling in that case. If you had you wouldn't make such a preposterous statement which is little more than an endlessly recycled Fox haters lie. The court never ruled that and was never asked to rule on it. As we proved right here at this site.

Meanwhile, thanks to a series of messages that continued to try to instigate political arguments, persisted on the off-topic question of moderation after a specific warning, and flagrantly violated the language rules, you will be taking a little vacation from this site. Well Grammie, I have some bad news for you. I just saw COUNTDOWN and Olbermann used his first segment to breathlessly cover Brian William's exclusive interview with former President Carter.

It seems Carter also needs medication because he made the bold claim that the opposition to President Obama is indeed rooted primarily in an animosity over being under the authority of an Amrican-American.

Olbermann and O'Donnell discussed the piece as if God had come down to pronounce judgement on the hearts of men....which is what Carter actually did....amazing.
