As everyone knows the USS Cole was attacked on GWB's watch. I am so glad that Tweety set the record straight for all we history challenged RWers.
This is an excellent article that I came across in the comments at the NB link.
http://www.hollycrud.com/
From Jack Bauer's comment @ NB and his blog:
"It's quite amusing to listen to the likes of the spittle drooling Matthews, Shuster and the rest of MSNBC's Obama worshipping hacks, who don't know much about history.
Memo to MSNBC: the actual policy of appeasing Hitler DID NOT begin and end with the Munich Agreement which shamefully recognized Hitler's right to the Sudetenland.
Appeasement of Hitler began in 1933 and ran thru to 1939, with Chamberlain being an integral part of all the meaningless "talks" and "diplomacy," to which Hitler had NO intent of ever being persuaded by.
He simply used that time to plot and build up his armed forces whilst breaking every treaty. It was what he planned all along, NO MATTER what France and England said, did, threatened, blustered or capitulated on."
The article is well worth reading.

Are you quite sure about that. I never knew till now that "THE RIGHT" had such a young man as he to be the embodiment and personification of the right. Gee, I thought I was right too.
So, who is "THE LEFT"? Is it KO who thinks the House of Representatives uses the filibuster or Chrissy who can't place an even less then 10 years ago in the right Admin?

No, I'm sorry, but you are incorrect. This blog is about cable news. So it IS about Chris Matthews. This is not a blog to argue politics. It's a place to discuss cable news.
If this were a blog to argue politics someone might point out that McCain's "flip-flop" is based on a heavily-cropped snippet of something he said that reads quite cifferently when it's not being clipped and snipped:
http://hotair.com/archives/2008/05/16/mccains-hamas-comments-context-restored/
However, I do NOT want to get into a fight over McCain or "the right spouting talking points". Discussions tend to wander and some of that is expected, but I will not permit the thread to be turned into a stream-of-consciousness political smorgasboard. As we say every day, this is an open thread for your CABLE NEWS comments. So I am sorry to correct you: it IS about Chris Matthews.

In my Topica discussion list with a handful of BillOReilly.com premium members that didn't fit in with the message board groupthink, I predicted Tony would not be filling in. Here's what I wrote 11 1/2 hours ago, as I announced BOR would be on vacation through Memorial Day:
"I have no idea who will fill in on 'The Radio Factor,' but I doubt it'll be Tony Snow any of the days, as he disappears into the land of CNN, never to be heard from again...unless he leaves or is fired/let go. Expect any of the old three-man platoon of fill-ins: Dom Giordano, Michael Smerconish, or Doug McIntyre. Next Friday and Memorial Day will likely be 'Best of' shows."

Summary of Countdown with Keith Olbermann for Thursday, May 16, 2008.
173 days until the 2008 presidential election.
Number 5: Mr. Bush "slanders" indirectly Senator Barack Obama. The video clip was played, about Mr. Bush indirectly "slandering" Senator Barack Obama. Senator Barack Obama, Senator Hillary Clinton, and Senator Joe Biden (who called the comments bull----) responded. Ms. Perino "answered" a question from the press about what Mr. Bush said. Democratic Party chair, Governor Dean wanted Mr. McCain to reject Mr. Bush's comments, but no. Dana Milbank is then called up, and after that Rachael Maddow was called up as well. Both did a good job attacking Mr. Bush's comments.
Number 4: Keith Olbermann talks about Mr. McCain's "President Bushs third term." Im sorry, of his first term. Keith Olbermann did a good job attacking Mr. McCain's "one-liners".
Bushed: Number three: Ahmed Chalabi-gate. Number two: Send them back-gate. Number one: War profiteering-gate.
Oddball: Don't Care.
Best Persons: Number three, best ironic baseball promotion, the New York Mets. Number two, best dumb criminal, Samuel Wood of Twin Falls, Idaho. Number one, best bizarre White House gift, Mr. Cheney gave Mr. Bush special Infrared style binoculars valued at 579 bucks.
Number Three: Response to the wonderful Special Comment, Paul Rieckhoff of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, is brought in. Both Keith Olbermann and Paul Rieckhoff did a good job attacking Mr. Bush, about Mr. Bush's "supporting the troops."
Number Two: WPITW: Bronze: Minority Leader John Boehner of Ohio. Silver: Mark Salter. Gold: retired General Thomas McNerney. Tone when Keith Olbermann said WPITW, before Number One, angry when he said: "General Thomas Yes, Im Prostituting Myself McNerney, todays worst person in the world!"
Number One, Bill losing it on "Inside Edition". Body Language Expert Stacy Grenrock Woods was brought in to explain Bill's Body Language, and she and Keith Olbermann did a good job at it.
Thats COUNTDOWN for this the 1,841st day since the declaration of mission accomplished in Iraq. Im Keith Olbermann, good night and good luck.

Yup, sounds like another Countdown like every other Countdown: another fair, balanced report, presenting all points of view running the gamut from A to B. You can't get that kind of journalistic fairness and balance anywhere else...except maybe Radio North Korea. Thanks for reminding us all what a partisan hack Oralmann is.
Oh, and by the way, that "body language expert" turned out to be an alleged comedian. So please get your facts straight before you post.

Um General, you were asked for examples of people from here mentioning J$P over there. The only one to mention J$P that you offer is john t, who is one of the newshound's posters!
But your msg is informative. Apparently the rules for banning seem to be that you post at J$P. It used to be you couldn't post a link to J$P. Then that was escalated to the hounds not wanting even a mention of J$P. Now apparently, if you don't break any of those rules but still come from J$P, that's enough to get you in trouble!
I'm flattered that this site gets so much attention from the hounds and their pals. Just wait until next week!

Thank you, Johnny. You took my words right out of my mouth. I asked for proof that commenters here talked about J$ at the Kennel.
I assure you, Goat, that I am never profane, never incoherent and have never gone off topic unless I mention it up front and only on sites that I know will cut me some slack. Yet I have had several comments deleted at the Kennel and some erased without a trace for no logical reason that I can discern.
I do believe, although I might be wrong, that a comment I posted questioning why my answer to a comment was deleted while the comment I answered was left standing. I have asked several times, to no avail, what are the nuances that obviously thrive behind the only three reasons listed to be deleted Alas, I have come to the conclusion that the criteria is either totally arbritary or is based upon anyone falling out of lockstep with the hounds. I do believe the latter, absent any response from the mod to my questions, is the reason.

Yeah he mentioned it because, drum roll please...They were sent there by Tony. Yes, he mentioned it because there were actually 4 regular posters here that were on NHs for the only reason to, " feel like having some fun go over there and light some fuses."
The only point I'm trying to make is that Tony got caught sending people from here over there with the only intention of starting trouble and then got caught lying about it.
I would assume that the reason you were having posts deleted that day was because at least 5 (I forgot about Dan Tana) showed up at once and just started posting craziness, I will admit that Grammie was reasonable, however when you are seen as one of the same group as Tony, Dan Tana, steve and olbysucks, you're going to be pigeon holed as one of them. Either get used to it or find a better group to associate with.
One more thing, The words,"I keep reading" , "gets so much attention"
implies, several. Many. Quite a few.
From my brief perusal of this site, 4 or 5 seems to mean a whole bunch.
I believe this is maybe my 5 post here. I've only seen posts from maybe 3 regular newshounds here. There might be a few more, but I have not seen them. On Newshounds, I only see you mentioned once in a while and that is only because some of your regulars are over there posting nonsense to cause trouble.
It's never, "I wonder what J$ is up to?" It's, "Looks like J$ people are over trying to cause trouble."
But I digress, quickly back to my main point. The reason why Tony was banned has a documented trail. Tony also is known as posting craziness over there to the point of a running joke of a dare to anyone that can have a focused and on topic exchange with her. So the 'ol woe is me defense ain't working and nobody is buying it.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence that all of a sudden a flock of NH regulars are over here. Sheer coincidence. I suppose it's just coincidence that at NH a poster challenged me to reply to something at NH, and when I did, my reply was deleted (because it exposed another of Deborah's doctored quotes). And--more coincidence--in just a few days time, there were several posts in different threads by "different" NH posters about how over here I rush to delete any post I don't agree with so that's why it's OK to delete my posts at NH. For all I know some of those liars who made that last claim may be the same people who suddenly showed up over here.
Yeah, that's all coincidence. But thank you for your comment.

Goat: The running "joke" is from the same people who changed and or deleted my posts over there. And save the time of trying to convince anyone over here that that is not true since I have seen the same claim by several members of this board.
And there was never a "woe is me". There was a pissed off "Those bunch of hypocritical bastards" me. They banned me yet continued to talk about me. Goat, no one sends me anywhere unless I want to go based on the info, which I will accept or reject based upon my own experience when I am there. What piqued my attention to comment at NH was borne out in spades once I got there.
Whether you realize it or not this statement from you bears witness to the charges leveled against NH here:
"I will admit that Grammie was reasonable, however when you are seen as one of the same group as Tony, Dan Tana, steve and olbysucks, you're going to be pigeon holed as one of them. "
To illustrate what I mean do you judge all black men by Willy Horton or do you judge them as individuals? Do you judge all southerners by James Earl Ray or do you judge them by individuals? Do you judge Greta of FNC as Ilsa the She Wolf of the SS or do you judge her as an individual?

Please, I am going to ask this just one more time. Do not post links in the comments that I have already spent the time and effort to find and post in my daily links posts. It's repetitive, clogs up the comment threads unnecessarily, and therefore makes them less user-friendly. I hope this is not asking too much.

> how about a link to the source material that KO based his McInerney hit piece on?
The source was Media Matters of course. Do you really think Olby EVER researches anything. of course not, that work is all outsourced to Blue Blogs. Also be advised that the clip has been edited and is not the full interview; though it does present the General's plan fairly, it does not represent the tenor of the discussion since much that was stated earlier, particularly by Greg Kelly, was snipped out.
All the hubbub about this ancient story seems oddly contrived, given that McInerney has been advocating his three-point plan for at least two years. He's written about it, spoken about it, interviewed about it. But only now did Media Matters take this appearance, from I think several months ago (at least several weeks ago) and decide it was worth writing about. And, by an amazing coincidence, Keith Olbermann ALSO suddenly decided to make this appearance newsworthy. But then, we know where Keithy gets his material from.

Fine that's your opinion. I've seen Media Matters quote-crop and distort on occasion. They are a Partisan source, not a news source, and so are a dubious resource for an alleged "journalist" to outsource his research to. That's a matter of opinion.
But that doesn't answer my question: what did I say that was incorrect?

Perhaps b/c of the age I grew up in I don't find it particularly upsetting that we, the USA, finance and/or take part in covert actions against regimes such as Fidel's Cuba and the current government in Iran.
In fact I think we would be a lot better off now if Jimmah Carter had not rolled over and begged to have his tummy rubbed by the Ayatollah Khomeinie (sp) and Breshnev (sp).

FF, I think SHUK already got in trouble at NH.
Not too long back I saw someones' ISP published after being deleted/banned and the mod identified it as being from the UK.
I am sure that SHUK used a phrase here and noted that that was the terminology in the UK, where he was.

So let's see. To quietly pitch the idea they go on the most-watched cable news channel in the country, but only after McInerney has been proposing this notion for over a year in print and in speeches. Yeah, that's the way to pitch it quietly.
I'm not sure what purpose any of this ancillary discusson serves but I assume it is serving some purpose for you.

Tess, I have heard that FNC did carry a madrassa story about Obama that they picked up from another outlet and it turned out to be grossly exaggerated. I understand your comment to mean something different, ie they stuck with the story and never retracted it. That is the what I am requesting citations on.
Whatever bothers you about FNC "alerts" to announce that the POTUS has arrived somewhere is not clear to me. I seem to remember seeing this type of unscheduled announcements about the POTUS, and sometimes the FLOTUS and FBOTUS, many times.
As for an Obama Superdelegate being involved in whatever about a cult yada, yada, yada I don't have a clue what you are talking about.
That is why I am asking for some citations and a bit more concise statement of what you mean.

Grammie, it sounds like "tess" is picking up half-truths and lies from a certain dishonest website again. The story about the "Obama superdelegate" and the cult is that when a phone tipster led to the raid of a Texas cult compound where many children were taken into custody, there was a claim of abuse. That claim was apparently made up by the tipster, who concocted the story of a nonexistent "Sarah".
Now on to the Obama connection: it was reported, not just by Fox but by others as well, that this fraudulent tipster was a delegate pledged to Obama. This is in fact correct. She was elected as a pledged Obama delegate to the state convention. Of course Fox never said she was a national convention delegate, let alone a super delegate. That fiction is part of the ruse the Fox haters use to try to create a journalistic "scandal" where none exists.
