Re: "Sunday talkers": I wasn't even aware Harry Reid had an autobiography out. I won't waste my time reading it.
If the Carpe Diem guy (what's his name?) doesn't like "Fox and Friends Weekend," why bother watching it?
Re: "The cable primary": John Fund echoed what Jim Pinkerton said last week on "Fox News Watch"; Obama won the MSNBC primary. Hmm. I see a link at the WSJ site that says "Cablevision Loss Widens Despite Gains." Great, now I have to subscribe (pay money) to see the rest of it. Forget it. I just hope I see FBN (SD/HD) and FNC HD added after June 3.

I have a G-rated response:
Re: "Today's deep thought": It's about what I'd expect from Daily Kos. I don't know how those guys and gals live with themselves.

Is it just temporary, just for today or this weekend?

He was on Saturdays for a while then there were others for a month or so. So I'm figuring he was off and is back and I hope will be seen regularly on Saturdays now.

I thought he gave up the Weekend Live anchor job last January ('07) to be Vice President of the FNC Washington bureau.

He did, but they never really found a host as good as he is, and as the primaries started to heat up, he began doing the Saturday show again. I assume he's back from some time off which is why he's back on Saturdays.

Okay. I guess it didn't really make sense putting Washington correspondents in the anchor chair. Welcome back, Brian.
And no, I'm not diminishing Shannon Bream's, Catherine Herridge's, Steve Centanni's, or Bret Baier's anchoring skills.

I normally do not like Hot Air, but I echo one of the commenters there: I despise Dan Abrams. What a jerk.

I was hopeing Wilson would take
Smith's spot but he maybe being groomed for Hume's spot as the big cheese.
If you saw Smith online during last Tuesdays election you can see why I thing he is getting to big for his britches, to bad they signed him to a new contract

This isn't cable news-related, but I'm still very frustrated that the Travel Channel pulled "John Ratzenberger's Made in America" from their lineup and upcoming schedule. There was no warning, no announcement. It just disappeared. And through irony, John was on "The Factor" last night to talk about "Cheers" and also promote "Made in America." The segment was recorded in mid-April when he was in New York to promote the show. If indeed Travel Channel and Cox Communications pulled one of their best shows off the air, this was a callous move. They should be ashamed. That was the only damn show I watched on that channel. (I never made an effort to watch "Taste of America" with Mark DeCarlo, which remains on at 11PM of all times.) Now, I have no reason to watch! And no moderator or Travel Channel person has posted to a thread on the show's discussion board (where people are still suggesting new factories to visit) to refute my fear that it was canceled!

I'm sorry to waste this thread's time with non-cable news stuff, but I'm just so damn frustrated right now.

Every weekend, I watch the past week's "Factor"s all over again. So, I saw the McCain interview again. On second look, it was fairly good. Even Nancy Skinner's and Laura Ingraham's respective reactions were good. The only segment I didn't watch--because I opted to stop recording as it aired and mute the TV--was Marc Lamont Hill's last night. Sometimes, I can tolerate him, but not on this night.

"Made in America" update: A poster to that thread over at the Travel Channel says that the show will resume Saturday, May 31, at 12PM ET, which will be its new timeslot. I'm looking forward to the resumption of the 5th season. That is such a relief.

I saw "FNS" in Widescreen Digital for the first time today. (Well, I skipped the Axelrod and Wolfson interviews.) If there's a difference between that and HD, I can't tell. The picture quality is spectacular either way.

I hope all the regulars and trolls had a good weekend out doing stuff...or whatever the reason I was the only guy commenting since yesterday evening. See you in the Monday thread.
