By the way, Johnny, Fox News violated the cardinal rule of "press bias" according to conservatives like Bernie Goldberg and Brent Bozell. Bringing on people and refusing to identify them as either "liberal" or "conservative". Fox brought on Liz Trotta last night to bash Michelle Obama's speech, calling it "laughable", and refused to identify her as a conservative.
She's a conservative Republican pundit and a former editor of the conservative-Republican Washington Times.
Watching Fox's coverage of the convention has been pretty interesting. more Republican solo interviews so far, in my opinion, than Democrats.
Karl Rove, Liz Trotta, Dennis Miller, Rudy Guiliani, Mitt Romney, on and on and on. And of course add in your pro-McCain Hillary supporters.
I think it's safe to say Democrats will not be given anywhere near as much interview slots during the Republican convention. Can't wait for Media Matters to count up the numbers. Their numbers on the conventions back in 2004 were telling of Fox's bias.

So, in Olbermann's mind, Tokyo Rose is bad but Hanoi Jane is good? Fascinating.

Scarborough tossed a brushback pitch at Keith Olbermann this morning. Apparently, Joe's decided if he's going down at MSNBC, he's not going to do it quietly.

Any chance of getting the Scarborough v. Olbermann from this morning's Morning Joe where Joe uses baseball analogies mocking Keith's reaction to Hillary's speech last night?

Interesting video of Matthews directly addressing Olbermann's little digs.
It's gotten to the point that there's not a Democrat in America who doesn't somehow insist that everyone else in the country be a sock puppet for his thoughts.
You must be one or else...
They're even cannibalizing each other.

So now Keithy wants to get rid of Tom Brokaw. Anyone who has seen the film "A Face in the Crowd" with Andy Griffith and Patricia Neal (1957) will know what I mean when I say that Olbermann really is Lonesome Rhodes.

BREAKING NEWS:
MSNBC's Olbermann Rushed to Hospital
MSNBC 8/27/2008
For immediate release
Denver, CO
MSNBC President Phil Griffin released a statement early this morning announcing the hospitalization of the highly regarded co-anchor of NBC News and MSNBC Democratic National Convention coverage.
Griffin's statement reads, "We are saddened to report that Keith Olbermann was rushed to the University of Colorado Hospital early this morning after being examined by a doctor in the President's Suite at the Warwick Denver Hotel.
Keith's recent behavioral swings ranging from obnoxiousness to euphoria were causing concern among several of his co-workers and friends. A doctor was called in at aproximately 5:00 am MST to examine him.
Keith was diagnosed with acute hypoxia (oxygen deprivation) that was a result of the combination of Denver's
mile-high altitude with Keith's lofty opinion of himself.
He is resting comfortably and is expected to make a full recovery.
Tom Brokaw will fill in as co-anchor untill Keith is able to return.
Keith asked me to relay a message to his loyal fans that he will be back before his seat gets cold.

It's possible that all this msnbc in-fighting is really just a way to make people watch it, waiting to see who blows up at who next?

#3 keiths ego is so huge its not funny-and the so called management there is not doing anything about it-msnbc is a joke!! how long before the "today" show and nbc nightly news becomes more left than it already is and resembles "countdown"?

Unfortunately, John, I think you're right. The MSNBC brass thinks that moderate-to-far-left train wreck television is what sells and what can take down the evil (in their and their viewers' eyes) Fox News Channel.
And it doesn't matter how many blogs and tabloids write of how the station is meeting its demise or whatever. This is the way MSNBC will be for a very long time and there isn't a damn thing any of us can do about it. :o(

I wasted my time reading KeithO the Klown's Kos manifesto. It was far-left choir/Kossack preaching, and condescension toward people he and they disagree with, and it was torture for me to read. And again, there isn't a damn thing any of us can do about it.
And let me just say thank God that MikeH doesn't comment here. I'd say the exact same things at OlbyWatch that I've said in my last two comments if it weren't for fear of him showing up, copying and pasting a snippet of what I said, and saying something along the lines of "I still want to know why you keep obsessing over a guy you can just change the channel for" or something.

On FNC right now, Wolfson getting in his digs on Olby and Chrissy. Done very tactfully, supported by facts, and quite calm I must say.
I don't agree politically with this guy, but I must compliment him in his form. Also on his loyalty to the Clintons.
Olby will be exceptionally spiteful tonight. Start popping the popcorn!

Can anyone tell me why FNC didn't air the Democratic keynote speech last night?
What's the point in being there if they don't show the main speeches?
I normally watch CNN. Thankfully they showed it. But I just clicked over to FNC to see what they were up to. Seems they were more interested in promoting the Republicans, as usual.

Probably because the Democrats moved it out of prime convention time (the 10:00 o'clock hour). Maybe also because it was a snoozer. They started to air it but dumped out when nothing was happening. Instead they aired a big chunk of the Montana governor's stemwinder later on.

The Strategy Room ran the speech with Mystery Science Theather-esque commentary from Shepard Smith, James Kotecki, and a third person that I forgot. Mary Ann Marsh took over for that third person. "Mystery Science DNC" was more enjoyable than the telecast. In fact, all Strategy Room webcasts outdid the telecasts. But I still watched "The Factor" at 8:00.

I got my first Fox hater/pro-Olby comment at my blog. I spammed it and deleted it. Another reason why I love moderation.
The comment was for a blog post that was primarily about noticing contemporary jazz music playing on the Pepsi Center public address system. I'm probably going to get similar comments--which will be promptly deleted--to my latest post where I note that pre-ordered BOR's "A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity" and quote the synopsis listed at BillOReilly.com.
As I'm writing, I just notice I got another comment from the same person. I deleted that one, too. You people aren't going to get the time of day at my blog. Thank you very much.

Well, that's fine MikeC, you can certainly suit yourself at your own blog. However, I think there's a more pertinent question here concerning moderation.
I'm wondering if the moderating here continues because someone like me may say something non-cable news, or if behind the scenes, the site is being inundated (as OW was) by a bunch of folks trying to spam the boards.
That would be something beyond what's reflected in the few edited or censored posts we see.
Which is it, Johnny?

Cecelia, it's both. We've got people who have broken the rules repeatedly, trying to come back under different names, different IPs, etc. We've got one guy who just posts silly little juvenile blasts (Fox sucks! Or Newshounds is Great!, that sort of thing) who also has violated a fistful of rules, but comes back and posts dozens of these a day.
Lately I've had to do very little editing on people who actually post on topic. Every now and then somebody goes a bit overboard, but lately it's been more of the posts sent over by you-know-who at you-know-where to try to sabotage this site.

Johnny,
I've never seen anything like these Leftists nowadays. They just will not let people merely dissent from their views. They truly believe that anything short of mucking up rivals and rival blog boards is tantamount to facilitating robber barons as they starve widows and orphans.
When you think like that you can justify anything, including playing 'internet operative' when you're over 14 years of age...
BTW, you all, Bob has a terrific blog up at OW where he likens MSNBC to Lord of the Flies via Olbermann's baleful influence. An on the money analogy.
Olbermann's particular pathology goes beyond even the remarkable intolerance we see in today's Left.
You could parrot Keith's ideas from daylight to dark and still find yourself with his knife in your back simply because he's a paranoid egomaniac.

Just saw the O'Reilly/Kucinich interview. It was a spirited debate regardless of who you agree with. I didn't see O'Reilly shout him down or constantly interrupt him (actually Kucinich made a couple of interuptions). Those who think O'Reilly is a bully and tells people to shut up are either misinformed or the world's biggest wusses.
Try seeing the right-wing counterpart of Kucinich on Olbermann. Olbermann doesn't have the balls to do that.

Johnny,
There's an article on Variety about the snarking between MSNBC colleagues that's going on right now.
Evidently, everyone's taking notice.
It really illustrates the validity on the decision of that ESPN honcho would said he wouldn't allow Olbermann back on the ESPN campus because they'd spend the next two years repairing the damage he did to employees.

Mike I have to say watching Shep in the room was great. His back and forth with everybody there and giving shout outs to folks checking in on the net.
Loved when Howard asked Shep how the Meatloaf was. And then if you wanted you could click right into the DNC feed. Iwas doing that and flipping to C-Span.
BTW, any 'Diva' eruptions at MSDNC tonight?
