Glenn Beck does a very good job in bringing to light the political nature (and priority) of the Democrat AG of Connecticut.

An AG more concerned about politics than the law....Thank you Glenn Beck for making Mr. Blumenthal divulge the ideological motivation of this entire bailout mess.....

The Zurawik commentary on Van Susteren is fair and balanced. Accurate as well.

This is repeat-posted from comments at ICN:

Zurawik for some reason completely omitted the issue that caused Greta to write her piece: Politico reported that BOTH SHE and her husband were giving advice to Palin. Greta pushed back on that very strongly because she insists that she never did any such thing. Zurawik bizarrely claims that Greta confirmed everything in the Politico story–but of course to make that claim he had to leave out the key charge against Greta that led to her writing a response. Something is very strange there.

And on a side note: now odd that Greta’s husband has suddenly become such a big issue. When he advised and supported and raised money for Democrats (he was a big backer of Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi, and many others) I didn’t see all this outrage and concern. Greta interviewed Hillary again last week, and there was a surprising paucity of outraged columns over her husband’s Hillary support. Apparently it’s only newsworthy, and only a conflict of interest, when Mr Coale helps a Republican.

This whole Van Susteren thing is nothing more than a stawman for the leftist bloggers.

The fact that her husband helped Palin set up a PAC after the election has nothing to do with who he is married to.

Does Campbell Brown mention her husband and his job.

How about Andrea Mitchell?

Didn't think so.

More junk from the left to distract from Obama's missteps.

I can't address the Ms. Brown question, but I do know Ms. Mitchell has frequently disclosed her marriage to Mr. Greenspan. I don't think Mr. Coale's activities make any difference, provided that they are disclosed. Then, the viewer can weigh credibility. This is one piece of the credibility argument. The Coale/Clinton relationship should have been disclosed as well.

I do think there is some element seizing on this lapse a bit unfairly. Too bad for them, and too bad that Ms. Van Susteren invited this.

By the way, at this point, she needs to let it go. There is a widely-held believe that she acted improperly. Ms. Van Susteren has called the question, now. Continued discussion seems to give Ms. Van Susteren some sense of desperation.

I think the matter of Greta-Palin thing flies in the face of what standard practice in journalism.

As with "ambush journalism", they must suddenly pretend these things aren't a part of routine practice.

Journalists do court the people they wish to interview. They do call and write and tell them that they're offering them a chance to get their side out, etc.

Barbara Walters has spent years essentially wooing world leaders and celebrities in order to interview them.

Greta has done that with Palin, and the result of her interview was a look into their family life complete with statements by Piper Palin that were not at all flattering to Sarah and were honey in the mouths of blue blogs and Democrat in general.

I don't know what else these guys could ask for.

I'm under the impression that there was no professional relationship between Mr Coale and Gov. Palin.

Why would friendly advice need to be "disclosed"? If that were the case, journalists would spend the first five minutes or five paragraphs of any story, disclosing informal discussions with Washington insiders and such.

Widely held belief? From whom? The leftists?

This is s bogus story. There are people all over Washington who work under such conditions and not one peep from your ilk. Get over it. Find something important to discuss.

"Their presence around Palin has become Topic A among many of her allies as well as other Republican insiders who are mystified as to why an anti-abortion rights conservative who ran against Washington elites is now turning to a pair of capital insiders for counsel."

Let's see, why would Greta's husband hand Palin advice...

Because he's a nice guy and she asked

Because he has a soft spot for women as leaders, as Greta has said.

Because he was in the room with her and he wanted to keep things on a pleasant note for his wife's access to Palin.

Because Palin is attractive and Mr. Coales enjoys thinking, "Damn! You look good, girl" while she's talking to him (a consideration with a few males here and there. Oh, yeah. True story...)

Because Mr. Coales enjoys the game of politics.

If statement quoted above, with its intentional obtuseness, doesn't tell you that these people are fully aware of the informal nature of Palin's relationship with Coales, nothing will.

A perfect example of the double standard/bait and switch!

"Ms. Mitchell has frequently disclosed her marriage to Mr. Greenspan."

If you say so, but isn't that a matter of record?

I had no idea Van Susteren was trying to hide her marriage to Mr. Coales. Shame on you, Greta!

And I don't recall Andrea ever disclosing or being asked to "disclose" the "activities" of her husband. Does anyone?

One of the character traits in Greta I admire is she doesn't back down from dishonest, personal attacks against her or other women in the spotlight. And she certainly doesn't doesn't play the demure, meek journalist who defers to her colleages to come to her rescue in response to her critics.

One thing that the anchor for GMA (sorry, the video didn't give her name) said struck me as very naive. She dismissed as "itis just language".the BHO admin banning The War On Terror as a description for our struggle with Islamic terrorism.

I wonder if she ever read Orwell's masteriece 1984. Controlling language so as to shape and restrict the understanding of the general population was a central theme of the methods used to crush opposition or even the thought of it. After all it is very difficult organize against something that no one has the vocabulary to articulate.

Semantics can be benign but also can be a tool of tyrants.

Congratulations. You have found yet another way to enable a breach of journalistic ethincs.

Van Susteren's change from a crime sensationalist into a political commentator has not been smooth. No surprise. I don't think you can turn a Ms. Grace into a Ms. Mitchell easly. We should not consider Van Susteren's political perspective. On a positive note, it is eclectic, on a negative, spasmodic. My guess is it somewhere in between. The question remains her ethical lapse. Finesse around that if you wish, but in the end it does her no good. Let's hope Mr. Ailes is a bit more concerned and responsive. If he is, Van Susteren might become a respected political commentator and journalist. She has the raw talent and ambition.

More BS from the cackling leader of the Hen House.

She has decided that FoxNation.com is accusing those who disagree with them as being anti-american. This is the big lie that Momma Hen loves to use at every oppotunity.

She posts several headlines from the site and determines that they have a right-wing slant. Well, DUH!!!!

She then states that there should be other stories that have been in the news lately.

Well, if you wish to have editorial control go get yourself real job.

Now you can get back to dusting off your bookshelves.

What a waste of good oxygen. Let's hope they don't breed over there.

Tonight, out of sheer desperation, Keith Olbermann let it be known that it was he, not Jeff Zucker, who gave a 25K donation to the IHTA fund. He then dared BO to mention it.
Olby is awfully easy to manipulate. Not too long ago, Ann Coulter got him to whip out his Kornell Diploma. Now O'Reilly (with the help of a couple of notable websites) has reached into Olbermann's pocket. Memo to Mr. Bill: Do not mention Olby's alleged contribution. Hold out for much, much more!

Is there a possibility that we now know why Ms Augello refused to discuss her statement here any further.

Could no further criticism on her part have been a stipulation in the donation. One that if not overtly demanded, at least implied?

That's not a slam on Ms. Augello. Who wouldn't have done such a simple thing as to have shelved their own comment, for a cause that they love.

25K, Keith? Is that guilt money for trying to sabotage a charity event that supports rape victims because you didn't like their guest speaker? Or more despicable yet, leverage money to try to gain the high ground in your chosen battle with the eeevil Bill O'Reilly? Or maaaaybe it's just shield money to deflect O'Reilly's repeated charge that you hurt the charity? I'll go with the latter two. God knows your interest in the It Happened to Alexa Foundation was never centered around abused women.

###
And we all know who the politically correct targets are for ambushes, staged moral/ethical quandries and temptation.

The dishonesty regarding this is astounding. I recall that a few years back, NBC NEWS was considering going to NASCAR races to reveal the spectators' well-known racism with actors, hidden cameras and mics.

I also remember the left being all indignant when they spotted their ideological opponents taking advantage of "lowest common denominators." How about ABC NEWS, NBC NEWS and other news organizations ambushing people based on what they perceive as human frailty in regards to bigotry, ignorance and/or selfishness (greed).

I REALLY wish those concerned about my moral and ethical failings would think about that "plank/speck" in the eye analogy.

What's all this talk about "plank specs in the eye" I'm always hearing about?

Is this some sort of nonsense about wood flooring or maybe pirate punishment being in the eye of the beholder?

I don't see what this has to do with "moral or ethical felons."
