Here's an added bonus: it's not true. The speech was not carried on HLN or CNBC or FBN.

I'm sure that News Hounds will say that FBN and CNBC are not news networks.

I am already so tired of the whining re so called death threats.  Do you not think that Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, Bill O'Reilly, Laura Ingraham & many others in the public eye including KO don't get loon threats?  Comes with the territory of being in the public eye, so toughen up buttercups and go out & do your job and stop being crybabies.

There is a little difference, though -- Beck, Limbaugh, etc., are "shock jocks" who set out to deliberately make incendiary comments -- they throw themselves in the marketplace of public opinion and judge the risk.  The Democrats who passed healthcare reform, on the other hand, while in the public eye, did not throw themselves on that same market; like it or not, they passed a piece of legislation, which is their job to do.  Doing their job should not invite death threats, or any other form of violence.

The same could be said of Jim Bunning, who got death threats for trying to enforce pay-go. It's wrong no matter who is the recipient, but it's important not to pretend that any political wing has an exclusive on nuts.

What I get tired of is when the nuts are used as means of attempting to stifle the speech of others.

The same people who were suggesting that Bush and Rumsfeld were insinuating that they were traitors in order to squelch their antiwar speech are now linking the nuts to everyone who has strongly criticized this administration.

For the 2nd straight night, Lawrence O'donnell is filling in for Olbermann. So was olby just back one night to deliver his "special comment"? it looks like that

Sorry Julie, that won't fly here, how many daily death threats do George Bush & Karl Rove still get on a daily basis.  BTW, your shock jock might be a patriot to me so stop trying to defend death treats against any of them & I see you conveniently ignored my reference to KO a well.

You misunderstood or else I wasn't clear -- no defense, no matter who is on the receiving end, both sides of the aisle, radio and tv personalities, etc.  It's just that I don't believe it necessarily "comes with the territory" when you're a Congressman or Congresswoman.  And I think bricks through windows is pretty much over the top.  Oh, goes without saying, KO is a shock jock as well.

Thanks for the tip . . . the question is, does the same "free country" thing apply here, or is only a "free country" if I'm agreeing with you?

You asked permission, why I don't know.  Having fun?

I answered, having a little fun, in the affirmitive.

Agreeing or disagreeing has nothing to do with this being a free country, and more to the point, not involved in the freedoms granted by the proprietor of J$P.

Well Anthony Weiner with O'Reilly was IMO deliberately provocative. O'Reilly asked him five different ways who comes after someone who is fined for not buying health care, and Weiner was all over the map with every possible response except for the true one: the IRS. I hope that those whose job it is to watch O'Reilly so you don't have to won't try to complain about Mr Bill trying to get an answer when it's clear that Weiner was deliberately not giving one.

It was pretty obvious to me that Weiner has a set plan of attack... he was going to huff at this point, and look to the side at this point... and had no intention of answering the question.

Who is responsible for levying the fine if someone chooses not to get healthcare?  The answer is not, "Well the same people who..."  The answer is a person or organization... not a sentence... just a noun.  Weiner wanted to dance, and pretend to get annoyed.

Of course, those who hated FOX and O'Reilly before the interview, will be "outraged" that he "interrupted."  How predictable.

It was terrible acting.

Mr. Weiner was soft on facts and small on maturity.

They'll say Weiner owned, pwned, and schooled Billo [Ding!], just like the echo chamber said of his "F&F" appearance a few weeks ago.  Hours after that "F&F" appearance, he went on "Countdown" and admitted his plan of attack.
That was a nightmare of a segment.  I know all sides need to be represented, but I hope he never shows up on "The Factor" again.  Stick with elements at NBC News (Olby/O'D).

A trip to Daily Kos confirms what I said.  Not only was the "p" word the winner of their poll, but they praised Weiner.

The heat is on, the blood's in the water. Fox hunting season is open and they're bringing in the big guns. Release the Hounds of Ellenore.

Weiner v. O'Reilly; Roberts, et al v. Beck; parts of Canada v. Coulter; Matthews v. the tea party; the entire universe of the elite, liberal media v. Palin.

Weiner was trying to pick a fight. O'Reilly didn't take the bait.

I saw that interview. Weiner in typical liberal fashion kept calling O'reilly a liar and denying that the IRS will come after you if you don't pay a fine. O'reilly put Weiner in a corner asking him the same question about 4 or 5 times about who would enforce the fine? Weiner kept saying "it's not criminal" hysterically. Weiner figured O'Reilly would give him a pass and let him deviate but he didn't.
