Chris Matthews has gotten just as polemical as Keith Olbermann.
Matthews is worse than Olbermann in that Chris thinks of himself as being a star quarterback in some sort of testosterone-laden political contact sport. He fairly oozes smirking "gotcha" self-congratulation with his every fatuous ad hominem set-up or rebuttal.
Watching Hardball last night, I was just appalled at Matthew's tactic of implying that Bible-belt Republicans are the equivalent of nineteenth century slave owners. As though no other reason but abject racism could make southerners reject liberalism.
In fact, Matthews called everything south of the Mason-Dixon line "the Confederacy".
You might wonder if the idiot has even been in the South since his Peace Corp, days, but of course he has. He KNOWS his formulation is bullshit, but it taints and that's what he's after.
Later in the show, Matthews implied that Sen. Whitehouse was correct in linking critics of the current health care bill with white supremacists.
I used to respect Chris Matthews for his experience engendered understanding of politics and the underpinnings of all sides of the spectrum. However, he's turned into a proud political operative willing to smear and besmirch anything while patting himself on the back for his "efforts" on behalf of the uninsured and the country.
He'd fit right in with AAP, OntheMark, and some of the News Hounders.
History is replete with such narcissists using public largess as an excuse for their domineering control freak natures.

I think a good post-Imus show for FBN would be with Dagen McDowell and Jenna Lee.
My husband swears Dagen is really a man and he's a guy who is prone to happily enjoying the female of the species, not to criticizing them (lucky me), so Dagen might be off-putting to male types (like it or not that is something that must be considered on tv), but she is an absolute hoot, astute, and very quick on her feet.
Jenna Lee is all that too and easy on the eye. She'd have to be brought up to snuff as far as business expertise though. (Just my opinion.)
Anyway I mention these women because I see them on Imus and I think they could implement a relaxed but savvy sort of show that would keep the Imus audience.
FBN does attempt such an offering with their Happy Hour show. Avoid those people at all cost. THAT program is just PAINFULLY awful!

I'll soon be away from the internet for a while, so I want to take this opportunity to wish Johnny and all of you at J$P, even those who don't seem to like us very much, a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Best wishes to all..... Ashley

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Ashley.
Re: "Alexis Glick leaves FBN": She'll end up at either CNBC, MSNBC, Bloomberg, CNN, or ABC News.

I don't think CNBC, since she quit there and they weren't happy about it. Of course Olbermann claimed that she was fired, but that was just Another Olbermann Lie.

Now that she left, I'm sure Keith would believe she has unsuspected depth and was one of the good people at Fox.
With the NBC channels out of the question, that leaves Bloomberg, CNN, ABC News, and someplace none of us have thought of, like a website or other business venture.

ICN and other sites have had rather unflattering things to say about Alexis. It looked to be related to her on-air delivery, or lack thereof in their opinion. I didn't get to watch her regularly, but she seemed fine to me.
When I first saw she was leaving, I was in shock and anger. As I said re: that story about Geraldo threatening to quit if Lou Dobbs is hired, I never like to see anyone leave, get fired from, or not renewed by Fox because they usually end up with the competition.

WOW! TVNEWSER is really up to speed. I e-mailed J$ last week that Dr. Fraud must have been given the boot. So nice to know that "insider's" still can't beat those of us that ACTUALLY pay attention to the world around us.
