The comments at Calderone's page (hubbub heats up) mimic the ignorant Fox bashing of NHs. I left a comment as such there (10:09). Guaranteed to fire up the place a little bit! 8)

I'm hoping the hubbub blows over. But what are the odds that Hertzberg runs into the arms of Krazy Keith?

I've no doubt that some people who are for gay marriage (rather than civil unions) and for giving homosexuality the same status as race, gender, ethnicity, religion,,,etc,,,, DO wish to impose their will via the legislature and especially the judicial system.
It is their right to champion their beliefs.
I don't doubt either that a good many of them would engage in McCarthyite practices in order to punish opposition.
What I don't believe is that any of them have fomented violence. They've shouted, and vandalized, and practiced civil disobedience, but has any gay rights advocate been violent or encouraged it? Now we do know that there HAS been violence from people against gay rights issues.
I agree that Gingrich got carried away in his statements. Not to the point where he should be accused of fomenting hate crimes, but someone (more level headed than Hertzberg) needs to tell him that his rhetoric sounds as hyperbolic as the leftwing zealots he was speaking about.

So far, FF, there's one comment from a supposed ModDem claiming that he watches "The Factor."
Hertzberg is doing what nearly every person ambushed by "The Factor" has done: he's playing the victim card. Take pity on me. The evil O'Reilly and his stalker producer [Ding!] ruined "my pleasant morning" and made me look clueless. Oh, and he lied.

From the CMPA study:
"The study also found that Fox News Channels coverage was heavily negative toward Obama, but their coverage of McCain and Palin was also negative."
Johnny, I am so happy to see this expressly stated.
The Pew Study showed precisely the same findings with their graphs, but in the study's accompanying text they said that FNC's coverage of Obama was a "mirror image" of MSNBC's. Pew graphs showing that McCain was treated no differently than Obama was treated on FNC, utterly undermined the implication the Pew Study made with the 'mirror image' analogy.
Since then, that analogy has been continuously used in any media critique of media bias. Frankly, it's inaccurate and meant to blunt some unflattering truth. (Just as are comparisons between The Factor and Countdown.)

I think "Huckabee" was live tonight because a TV tuned to FNC in the Columbia, SC, Books-A-Million, where Mike was, could be heard in the background throughout the show. It was very annoying. Whatever occurred could be heard in the background a few seconds later. :-:

I'm watching on a DVR delay and just noticed speakers spread throughout the impromptu soundstage. So, maybe it wasn't the TV and maybe the show wasn't live tonight.

Okay, I'm sure now it wasn't live. The speakers, which I mistook for a TV tuned to FNC, supplied the IFB audio from New York.

I'm wrong. I'm up to the part where the Gov. said they were live.

As much as I ma of FOX it is about time something worked on F&FWeekend, the show is such a downer after the weekday version.

Hello all. 1st time poster.
I was reading that over in the UK Murdoch's Sky satellite system is now offering "PressTV" This is the English speaking Iranian news channel.
I personally don't have a problem with this. But I was wondering if Bill O'reilly would. After all he went after GE. I'll be interested in seeing if the Factor picks up on this story. I have email them the info.
I'll be interested to read your comments on this matter.

Is there any word on who (or who not) will be teaming up with Hannity?
Do I have to sign in to post and stop moderation? My last post didn't appear. Thank you for any advice.

Kirk,
i agree. My thought is that FNC should just scrap it. Why do they insist on trying to make that weekend show work? It never will.
Give it up, FNC.
The funny magic of the week day show cannot be replicated.

No you don't have to sign in. I've been busy on personal matters today so moderation has been a bit slow.

Welcome to the site Chippy! It's entirely possible that O'Reilly will take issue with Sky satellite TV. He's taken on other News Corp entities in the past. From what I've read Murdoch might not even like O'Reilly and doesn't want FNC to be the central focus on News Corp.
I don't have a problem with Sky broadcasting Iranian state news either. I'd be interested in the propaganda myself.

Johnny,
I suppose we now know that Chris saying that it's not his job to critique the Obama Administration and implying that it is his patriotic duty to make sure it always succeeds, wasn't nausea-inducing servile obsequiousness stemming from his overweening political ambitions.
Actually, it's nausea-inducing servile obsequiousness stemming from from his MSNBC career ambitions AND the worst of the 60's pent-up baby boomer New Left fantasies.

Now that's there's pre-emptive moderation, that's a good plan.

I read the findings. They pointed out that more than 60% of the commentary on Special Report's All-Star Panel was negative towards Obama.
In contrast, more than 60% was positive towards McCain.
That's the definition of bias. There are no liberals on the All-Star Panel.

That statement would come as a surprise to Mara Liasson, Juan Williams, and Mort Kondracke.
