Something seems to have gone wrong with the ratings...The Scoreboard: Monday, January 5
Are we now getting preemptive ratings?

He's talking about the TV Newser chart that mistakenly claimed it was today's ratings rather than last Thursday's. Our link said 'Thursday' however, so readers of this site weren't misled.

For someone who repeatedly claimes he cares nothing about the ratings, he sure seems to repeatedly bring up the ratings. Perhaps he eagerly awaits the opportunity for FNC to claim #1 status for the 8th consecutive year!

haggy moniters olbermanns ratings in hopes he will be #1 in the all important teenage demos.

When olbermann is dead last, ratings don't matter and the loons invoke the "sponge bob" or "american idle" argument.

When he happens to beat out an O'Reilly sub, the olbyloons are quick to throw it in our faces.

I seem to remember someone was chastising MSNBC for what they were airing...But looking at the ratings they have come up trumps in the very important 25-54 demo.

Very strategic for MSNBC. They figured out how to beat FNC in that "important" demo. Dump Keith Olbermann for the day then go up against FNC when all of its hosts have the day off.

What misspelling? H*a*g*g*y. Haggy. Maybe I missed something.

Also, what significance does the demo 35-64 have?

Twitter is somebody's Big Idea of a way to send messages that are so short you have to misspell everything and hope that the reader can decipher it. It's a real great advance in communication.

The 35-64 demo is called the 'news demo'. That's a demo used by advertisers who are targeting viewers of cable news.

The Demo is the most important number for advertisers....Hence you see all the cool trendy stuff being advertised over at MSNBC...On the other hand you tend to find things like stair lifts/electric scooters...etc...being advertised over at FNC.

Oh and BTW Ashley, yes, it was night -time for me when I posted late afternoon your time yesterday... because I live in Ireland. How you people draw the conclusion from that, that I am the same person as Patrick, is beyond me. Ohhhh, wait, I get it -"Patrick" is an Irish name, right? And NOBODY in the USA would call lthemselves Patrick, now would they?! ROFL!! Gotta love that RW "logic"!
Pegleg Peggy | 01.04.09 - 1:59 pm | #

A couple of things PeePee:

The reference I made to the time in the UK pertained to our resident troll Haggy who claims to be in the UK. He/She is an admitted liar and deciever who posts here under different names and, in several occasions, has had conversations here with him/herself.

When you start inventing this 'we called you Patrick because we knew you were from Ireland' stuff, that is not true. We didn't know you wee from the Ireland until long after you were referred to as Patrick.

And NOBODY in the USA would call lthemselves Patrick, now would they?! ROFL!! Nice how you invent a ficticious scenario then laugh at it. Our friend "Patrick" claims to be from Illinois. And from my point of view, I know dozens of Patricks.

Bottom Line. You don't know what you are talking about.

Subaru
Dyson Vacuum cleaners for the young & trendy.

Some cutting edge stuff on MSNBC.

Here's an interesting article about cable news advertising revenue.

http://www.broadcastingcable.com/article/CA6570436.html

Published in mid 2008, the writers offered the following predictions, based on Year to date results:

Researcher SNL Kagan estimated that the three big cable news networks will rake in around $1.4 billion in gross advertising revenue this year, adding that Fox News will capture 47% of gross ad spend in the category versus 40% for CNN and 13% for MSNBC.

Hey Haggy - seems like those electric scooters do pretty good for Fox. Jimmy Dean for MSNBC, not so much.

Haggy - for someone who claims to have a sense of humor, you sure don't have a sense of humor.

If you're going to claim the O'Reilly came out in me, then based on your lies, deceptions, lies, deceptions, lies, and more lies and deceptions, perhaps the Olbermann came out in you.

But seriously, I know I have posted many times to the effect that "Haggis claims to be from Scotland" or Haggis claims to be from the UK, has there been anything where I said you were not from there? You do claim to be from Scotland, you do claim to be from the UK, correct?

Besides, and seriously, based on all of your lies and deceptions, how can anyone believe a word you say here?

Regardless, why do you care where I think you are.
