'One of the Worst People in Broadcasting'

J$P Audio! Keith Olbermann attacks John Gibson, and Gibby fires back:

From The John Gibson Show, January 23 2009

cee
[MSNBC] went "smart" according to Olbermann?

Sure. The poor journalism on display during COUNTDOWN regarding the NSA wiretapping issue is yet another example of what Olbermann considers "smart."

Just like Habeas was suspended, just like Bush/Cheney are fascists and will be impeached, just like Bush/Cheney violated The Constitution and should "RESIGN!" just like our country has committed war crimes, just like Cheney coordinated the outing of Valerie Plame, just like the 2000 and 2004 elections were stolen, just like Iraq would never turn around, just like Bush was responsible for 9/11, just like only Bush was responsible for the failures during Hurricaine Katrina, just like our fellow citizens used torture with impunity, just like Hillary Clinton meant to use the murder of RFK for political advantage, just like the FBI over-reacted to the "Fort Dix Plot" just like proponents of Prop 8 are hate-filled bigots, just like Olbermann's scary NEXUS OF POLITICS AND TERROR........

Tin foil hats all around for the puny COUNTDOWN audience tuning in every night! REAL SMART!........BOO!

VERO POSSUMUS!

Thanks for posting that segment. That was an amazing demonstration of bad radio. I'm glad someone is listening to that tool, John Gibson, so that I don't have to.

Great Gibby bit as usual, Johnny.

The big news story about the media has been MSNBC's turn to the left and it seems as though the entire staff at MSNBC has talked about going there-- or "going smart", or going "positive" (to the administration), etc... (whatever euphemism they use.) so Olbermann's story on what Phil Griffin really said to John Gibson is quite amusing!

The Crimson Executioner
1-2 (approx) minutes: childish ad hominem attack

2-2:30 minutes: Whoa, whoa, HOOO! (LOL - sounds like a mental patient) OK points out that O'Reilly borrowed the idiotic analogy that O'Reilly is (LOL) "Paul Revere" from Gibson. More childish name-calling from Gibson. KO really didn't say anything bad about Gibson here, just said in essence "that's an old one", Gibson came up with it first. Why the indignation, Gibby? You're riding KO's coattails - and O'Reilly's, seems to me. - Now that you're an obscure 3rd string AM radio hate-jock since Fox "News" cable kicked you off the air.

3:00-3:15 minutes: hilarious! Really bad AM hate-jock technique stolen from Rush Limbaugh that they all use. Here they'll cherry pick something, less than a minute, and spend 3X as long making snide silly comments about it. Of course, no opposing opinions allowed. Rush usually does this with some newspaper article he finds, curious the writer of the article is never allowed on air to defend- same thing here.

Furthermore, HILARIOUS, that anyone - past, present, future - affiliated with Fox "News" would accuse ANYONE of being "in the tank" for anybody. They had people who accused others of "treason" for opposing Bush, and have earned their reputation as a virtual propaganda network for Bush and the Republicans. What happened to all that "treason during wartime" talk now that Obama is president? Guess that goes out the window - eh? Silly "conservative" idiots..

3:22 - "Drooling over Obama" - they drooled for the last 8 years over Bush. HILARIOUS!

4:00... Hey, Gibby, hear you have a lot of skeletons in your background too - eh? How'd you like someone to get on the air, and you're not there to defend yourself, and tell their version of Gibby behind the scenes stories for several minutes? I'm sure they'd be a lot more interesting if the hearsay is true... Stay classy Gibby. That's called being a "back biter"... and it's pretty cheap, childish, and classless. Feel better, now Gibby?

4:55 - when I was at MSNBC and it got zeros... Ummm - maybe you had something to do with that, Gibby?

And so, the rest is a he said/she said about the recollection of some event that nobody really cares about. Of course, we're supposed to believe Gibson's version of the story. Why? Because he says so...

J$ what is so good about this piece? It ain't good radio, it ain't funny or entertaining or enlightening, it's not original... it's not even an especially good bashing. Very predictable... it's, frankly, pretty banal. What do you see in this guy? He seems to be a fave but he's really very vanilla as far as AM radio hate-jocks go.

This is only tangentially related to cable news, but I stumbled across it while link hunting and you may find it interesting. It's the story behind the story of Vince, the ShamWow guy:

Hey - I went through Gibson's ridiculous, weak, childish radio rant step by step to expose it for what it is. Not my fault if your attention span ain't up to it...
|
Hey, Robert Reich - brilliant guy, wrote an open letter to several of these lunatic AM hate-jock blowhard imbeciles in reponse to their flagrant hate-mongering about including minorities in the stimulus package:

"The hate mail I have received since your broadcast suggests that the mischievous consequences of your demagoguery are potentially dangerous, in addition to being destructive of rational and constructive political discourse. I urge you to take responsibility for your words. Words and ideas have real world consequences, and you have demonstrated a cavalier disregard for both."

Beautifully stated Mr. Reich... (Walk away from these liars, these RW liars - Bill O'Reilly) We don't need these hate-mongering irresponsible blow-hards inspiring another "conservative" idiot to perpetrate another Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church incident or poisoning the rational discourse with their idiotic and divisive nonsense and distortions designed to agitate the base of brainless idiots into giving them higher ratings and sell more of their partisan screeds at the expense of the credibility of the republican party and the expense of the well-being of our nation in a time of crisis when we need to be united as Americans to confront our numerous challenges.

Which is why the "minority package" is a joke. "No work for the white man" say the "uniters."

Here's what Reich said...

"I am concerned, as I'm sure many of you are, that these jobs [hopefully being created by government spending] not simply go to high skilled people who are already professionals or to white male construction workers."

... oooOOOooo scary and "controversial". Do y'all ever get tired of changing the meaning of what is said? Or finding reasons to be needlessly afraid? Or being the victims or being persecuted?

"or to white male construction workers."

Here they'll cherry pick something, less than a minute, and spend 3X as long making snide silly comments about it. Of course, no opposing opinions allowed. Olbermann usually does this with some blue blog he finds, curious the target of the attack is never allowed on air to defend- sos.

Well, I think the Reich left it open for white female construction workers...

In my neck of the woods nearly all the construction workers are undocumented Hispanics. I suppose Reich wishes the white male construction bosses to get plenty of money to underpay them...

How "out of it" is the former Sec. or Labor?!
