Danny
On a day when according to Realclearpoltics Obama's approval ratings sank to their lowest level ever, CNN never mentioned it.  They were too busy covering the nonstory about Palin's crib notes.  Fair and balanced?  covering the important news of the day?  not at all.

Is there something wrong with JS-Kit account login today? I can't seem to login with it.

Don't panic Danny...I'm sure FNC will keep you fully informed about the approval ratings....I must be missing something....it's averaging at 48%....I'm assuming your only looking at the Marist number 44% and disregarding the others...like ABC news/Wash Post witch have him at 51%.

Joseph Farah of WordNetDaily is coming after FNC....because their largest shareholder...outside the Murdoch family....is Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal with 7%...is this Farah guy a nut or do the regulars here agree with him?...I'm just curious

Well yeah Haggis you are missing a lot . . . as usual.  You have missed what his numbers have been for the last couple of days.  He has been as low as 44 in the Rasmussin poll and the average between the approval and disapproval rate has been as low as .3.  I foget whether it was Monday or Tuesday, but Realclearpolitics even had the headline that Obama has dropped to a new low. Today is the first day in a while than any poll has shown Obama above 50% and the ABC poll is the only one. That is the real story not how someone makes notes to deliver a really good and effective speech.  See this is why you evidence so much ignorance; you rely on media that give you nothing but pap.  I feel sorry for you.

Danny...I rely on media that gives me the news straight....You simple rely on media that gives you what you want to hear...There's nothing wrong with that...but you're only hearing one side.
Palin is a big news story..It's not the fault of the media that she made a swiss cheese of herself,..there simple reporting what they saw.

That's why I rely on RCP's average:

48.0 Approve / 46.4 Disapprove = +1.6

Danny's right... these are not good numbers.

As you say there not marvellous....But as Obama has said many times...He's there to get the hard things done for the American people and not worry about his poll numbers.

Danny....FNC/the Right complained when the media largely ignored the original rally....But now there reporting it...you don't like what they say and wish them to stop reporting on it....make your mind up please.

He's there to get the hard things done for the American people and not worry about his poll numbers."  That's purely a political statement and really should not be allowed.  Once again you break the rules.  If I commented about what Obama's thinking and doing, I too would be breaking the rules.

I don't mind their reporting the rally.  The story was Palin's speech.  How she did it barely deserves a passing mention.  And, of course, the big story was Obama's lowest poll numbers ever.  That they didn't even mention that is really telling.

They did report on the speech....But you didn't like that reporting because they weren't praising her enough + they pointed out her total hypocrisy + the little helper notes....so she could remember what her principals were for answering pre-screened questions. On the other hand FNC couldn't praise her enough....so you loved their reporting. just admit it.

That's your definition of total hypocrisy?  A person has notes when they deliver a speech?  Hee Hee You say the most ludicrous things.

MSNBC couldn't damn her enough.  Chris Matthews even called her a facist.  Not a peep from you about that.  IMO that is a much better example of total hypocrisy.

Re: Red Eye's anti-celebrities

I just love the good Father Morris!

I'm protestant, not Catholic, so perhaps Catholics have a differerent experience with their clergy, but Father Morris' jocular but sincere presence at Red Eye reminds me of the way our Presbyterian ministers were always invited to even the most raucous gatherings in the community where I grew up.

Those pastors had Father Morris' same ability to gaily skip along that fence between having as earthy a good time as everyone else, while maintaining a sense of devout spirituality.

Now pastors of all denominations seem more isolated from the world in general.  I think that came about because a reverence for them as a by-product of a reverence for faith has lessen even in the most conservative and/or ethnic of enclaves.

...and FNC couldn't praise her enough...what's your problem + Beck calls nearly everyone on the left Fascist....for some strange reason....No outcry from Danny-Boy about that.

Palin = attack and sound bites....absolutely no substance. Then we get the ridiculous...suggesting Obama should wage war with Iran for political gain and I though Bush was bad.

We were discussing Palin and not everyone on the left.  You characterize Palin's speech in a way that I don't agree with.  But more importantly, that is again a political statement and it should not be allowed.  I guess Johnny is asleep at the wheel today.

What is ridiculous is Matthews' assessment:  He called her a facist because she advocated war with Iran and because she wants Texas to suceed from the union.  She actually said neither of those things.  What she did say was that Obama would lose if an election was held today.  However, If he declared war on Iran, conditions might change.  Not that he would become more popular if he did . . . not that is something that he should do . . . but if we went to war with Iran, it could be a game changer.  The results of the decision are unpredictable.  She never said that Texas should suceede from the union.  She said that some suggested that Texas wanted to suceede but what Texans were really saying was:  they wanted to succeed.  Don't tell me that you are as dense as Chris Matthews and are unbable to get that.  It was a play on words.  It is still hypocrisy for you criticize Fox for what you perceive as going overboard in praising the speech and to say nothing about MSNBC's over the top criticism Palin.   Nice try but you fail Hagi-boy.

She'll fit right in at FNC if that's what she said...As we all know how the Foxers use this famous phrase with gusto..."some people say"
Now all she has to master is the famous "Cavuto mark" and how to use it properly.

You simply can't rebut his comments....so you start on the personal attacks....Absolute scoundrels!!

Danny have you been on the sauce?...The reason I ask....is because that last post was verging on something I'd expect from the lips of Palin.

Chris Matthews has often told the story of when he working on the late Speaker Tip O'Neil's staff, they were visited by Pres. Reagan.  "This is where we plot against you", Matthews told the president.

Well, since the Iraq War, Matthews has gone back into his partisan operative mode, issuing talking points, and floating strategy.

Matthews' zeal has been heightened to hack-point by the election of Pres. Obama, who Matthews sees as the advent of all his boyish dreams from his Peace Corp days.

This has led Matthews to issue some of the worst examples of sheer fawning groupie-speak ever to be made by a news analysis host.  The most recent being his proclamation that during the TSOU speech, Matthews forgot for a moment that the president is black.  (Glenn Beck put that into perspective by asking his audience to imagine telling a surgeon that he is so good that you forgot he is black...)

I don't think Palin is ready for prime time either (in the sense of her running in '12), however the visceral hatred and disdain that she evokes is shocking and utterly puzzling.  Matthews is a part of the anti-Palin chorus of hate.

Frankly, Matthews revealed by his treatment of Hillary Clinton, his appetite for busting the chops of women pols with a voraciousness that surpasses his treatment of men.

For you to imply that it's unreasonable to suggest that Matthews is hyper-partisan, brusque with women, and given to the worst sort of personal polemics (as opposed to Glenn Beck's generalizations about leftist ideology and its consequences) is bunk.
