That Glen Beck video is an eyepopper! I can't believe that the story is not being covered heavily in the MSM.

I can just imagine the coverage if GWB had done it considering that the blue blogs were full of speculation that troops were being called home to prevent the presidential election or to prevent the transfer of power. All the teeth gnashing about the fascist toltarian cabal that was the GWB admin.

Here we have an extraordinary action of actualyy sending a military unit to a small town and we barely have any details about who, why and what.

Who sent/requested them?

Why? Was it law enforcement or to quell a riot or just to try it and see what hapenned?

What did the military do while in the small town and how did they do it?

Surely this merits a strong spotlight on it!

J$ - If I can add to your response to Grammie, there are two problems I see with the military going into Alabama story.

1 - no one seems to care that it happened.

2 - no one seems to care that no one seems to know who sent the troops in.

Olbermann w/Leno:

Leno asked serious questions, KO responded with punch lines and calls for prosecutions.

The best example of selective outrage and Olbermann's role as an Obama Protecter was when Leno brought up the issue of money going to foreign banks. Leno's "Why did we have to bailout a German bank?" question brought the loudest round of applause from the studio audience.

KO attempted to make another joke, this time about "The spokesman for the Financial Ministy of Germany" having the same name as Keith, then totally ignores the question and reverts to the talking points, with the full finger jabbing for effect, "...but the AIG thing is particularly great because the group that screwed the company into the ground, these guys...are getting the bonuses, they're getting a million dollars each or more...."

Let's recap: Keith, the late-night talk show, unfunny lefty version of George Gobel blocks any Obama administration and congressional democrats responsibility for anything and steers all criticism back to the evil AIG executive bonuses, when the Obama administration and congressional democrats fully protected and insured those bonuses would be paid using language inserted very late into the stimulus bill, while adding a bonus to the attack on bonuses by (select 1, 2, or all from the following) exaggerating/misrepresenting/lying about the amounts of the individual bonuses.

Haggis' latest is nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to divert the thread away from Donahue/Hannity, the Beck video, and most importantly, the Olbermann performance on Leno, by starting an argument about quotes and semantics that would eventually lead to far off worlds.

BTW - I know exactly what Laura I said and the context in which she said it. I've heard the audio several times.
The reason you refuse to provide a quote in order to prove your point and back up your claim is because she didn't say it.

Plus sized means "larger", not fat.

BTW - and for you to even whine about this is ridiculous. You could care less that McCain was insulted. You've made specific insults against women on this site, in particular Ann Coulter insinuating that she is really a man. For you to whine now is sheer hypocrisy.

Here's a flavour of what's being said:

"I think the criticism is that “On the Record” has become fan club number 1 to the Palin family (because you are constantly reporting on them), and now with this news…it gives the perception that you have a vested interested (either politically, or monetarily) in seeing Palin succeed.
While the criticism may be untrue, it isn’t “out of line” or “far-fetched” either."

The issue is really about what has come from the left in the past. And that my dear Haggis is where the crickets come in. "This programme is brought to you by waste management"....What an appropriate sponsor for The Factor...Maybe waste management might think about tipping the factor into the back of that nice green dustbin lorry.  Only a thought.

I think all women are beautiful and I don't think that calling someone plus-sized is an insult. It's a shame that you apparently don't.

Ashley, you're a dear and a typical male in that your definition of what looks good is a bit curvier than what women think looks good.

However there is no woman in the world who would find it flattering or even innocuous to be termed "plus-sized". Even in cases where it's an extremely diplomatic description.

I think Laura argues that she was mocking McCain's own vapid blog chatter about her weight battles, etc.

I think Megan is a very pretty young girl and that sort of breathless personal chit-chat goes with the age group.

Ingraham's point is that no one would give a fig about the trite political musing, peppered with girlish chatter blog-talk, of a 22-year-old, if Megan McCain hadn't been dissing Republicans (and Anne Coulter) in a way that is music to the media's ears.

Laura engaged in Meganspeak about politics and weight battles (and Megan accent) in order to make that point.

Let me add again, Ashley, that you are a mensch.

Thank you Cecelia....you've completely validated my point made at 7:44 pm.

Right back to watching Arnold's glowing endorsement of President Obama.

Haggis,

You disingenuous, pointy-head hacker!

Your 7:44 pm point has absolutely NOTHING to do with your original 3:29 pm dishonest slur of Ingraham for blatantly lying to her viewers.

Ingraham claimed she didn't call Meghan "fat." True statement

She never claimed she didn't "insult" MM.

If you have the slightest modicum of integrity, correct your original slur.

Haggis - if your view of The Factor had an advertisement saying "programme", then it is not US based but regional based, your region. Apparently Waste Management is a major industry in your area and can afford these expensive commercials.

Haggy Haggy Haggy - Once again, your "analysis" (if it can even still be called that) is "spot off".

You made the apple comment AFTER I met Ann Coulter. When I saw her, I saw a beautiful woman. IF she would have had such an obtrusive "apple" as you say, it would have been obvious when I met her. As I didn't recall one, then seeing your comments afterward, I did go back and check a photo I have. (You see, I actually do my homework to be sure). And what did I find??? I found that you were wrong.

Your occasional degradation of some women is quite sad.

I've done extensive homework in this department...You're obviously been looking at the PhotoShopped image that's very prevalent in Right wing circles

Haggis - I have to give you credit for your chutzpah, you actually think you know more, because you look at photoshopped images of Ann, then me, who did see her up close and in person.

Perhaps you lack experience in standing close to beautiful women.

Do News Clowns have some sort of hypocrisy gene that causes them to invariably belie the principle they have just used to beat someone else over the head?

Peggy goes into spasms suggesting that O'Reilly was so sexist as to suggest that a rape victim "wanted it" and then uses imagery to imply that the cordiality and admiration Grammie and I feel for Johnny, is because we want to have sex with him ( we "want it")!

Other vile idiots at News Hounds tsk-tsked O'Reilly's guest philologist Marina, over her manner of dress and sexy appearance (does she "want it", guys?...) and even argue that Marina's focus on looking sexy demotes a woman's intellectual abilities, and then post nothing but sexual insults and imagery at Grammie and me-- WHEN ALL they see of us is what comes from the intellect-- when we are SOLELY words on a screen- SOLELY written ideas.

Now in keeping with the tradition of News Clowns jettisoning the 'dearly held' principles they have used as club the moment the target changes, Haggis tsk-tsks Ingraham insulting Megan McCain as being fat (despite her explanation) and then acts like it's cute and funny to say that Anne Coulter looks like a man (which is what the adam's apple remark is about).

Hypocrisy is a common human trait, and we've all embraced it at one time or another, but I don't think I've seen a more blitheful willingness to completely abandon all sense of what they'd argue as being liberal sensitivity and moral consciousness when it comes to just regular joes who don't agree with them about a cable channel or politics.

You can't expect principled consistency from Haggis, Ashley, it's overwhelming evident that he doesn't think you're/we are worth that common decency and to afford it is just not a part of him.

Cecelia, you know I have always admired your succint analysis. Well, you can add this one to the list.

BTW, would you like to be my ghostwriter? You write so much better then I do.

Does the term "liberal hypocrisy" ring any bells? Point it out and you get banned!
