Gee, who would have ever predicted that the $700B would be squandered and misappropriated then left unaccounted for?
Take back the money, let these hood-rich (on borrowed money) investment companies fail, and jail the decision-making execs who used it in ways other than to benefit the taxpayer. Finally, give the money back to the people it was originally STOLEN from, the taxpayers! With interest.

Johnny,
That was so precious with the Christmas carol leading JD to safety.
AND Rick Stark was nailed!

I recorded "The Tonight Show" last night because Robin Williams was a guest. I just started watching 10 minutes ago. After the monologue, there was a year in review cartoon from JibJab. I gave up on it after this lyric: "Barack defeated Johnny, so long to the far right ..." In this sequence, Pres-Elect Obama and Sen. McCain are in portrait frames. Mr. Obama punches McCain and he rolls like a bowling ball toward pins that that have heads of supposed far-right [Ding!] personalities. Guess who one of those personalities was? Yep, traditional independent fair-minded Bill O'Reilly. It's too bad; I wanted to give the cartoon a chance. Skipping ahead to Robin now. I bet he'll say some right-hating thing that gets wild cheers and applause. But I'll see.

I agree Mike. I know it's all satire, but if anyone on the left believes
1 - McCain is far right
and
2 - the far right is over
They are very wrong. Let them make the same mistake the Republicans made in 94 and 2000. Bill Clinton did a great job resurrecting the GOP and Barack Obama can easily do the same.

To Marty [What was her last name again?] (aka Chickaboomer): How was BOR not hale or hearty toward Glenn Beck in his debut appearance? He friendly ribs all of his colleagues on "The Factor." And in the next two "Factor" appearances, Glenn was treated fine. There'll be many more appearances to come once "Glenn Beck" premieres in less than four weeks.
Outside of that, I was satisfied with the Fools and Tools selections.

No one from the left believes McCain is far right. We do believe he dropped his independent nature not to mention his pants to appease the far right.
Chimeri, BOR's registration status as an Independent reflects his rebellious nature but not his overwhelming conservative nature. Please stop pretending otherwise.

Absolutely loved the Chickaboomer article. She nails Keith "Czechoslovakia" Olbermann.
"He imagines himself as a latter-day Edward R. Murrow rooting out all the corrupt zealous Joe McCarthys. Put a mirror up to Olbermann's face and staring back is the ultimate avatar of what he so loftily and righteously professes to hate."
Amen.

I missed it, did you think BOR was fine towards GB?
The "hale and hearty" comment reminds me of the line from "Blazing Saddles", where the townsperson holding the wreath to give to the new Sheriff says something like "Allow me to give you this Laurel, and Hearty handshake". (Mel Brooks is the best!)

Marty Davis, loved the Mathews/Olbermann observations + a couple of shots at CNN, guess Bill is the one FoxNews personality to take a little heat in order to balance out the piece. He has seen much worse and laughs off his critic's remarks. I think he get's hurt if he is not mentioned in a cable news media blog.

Yesterday, I talked about that NYT piece on conservative radio that suggested Fred Thompson would be replacing "The Radio Factor." The piece lumped BOR in with conservatives.
Today, that piece was linked to on, of all places, BillOReilly.com, where it is among the O'Round the World news links.

BOR was fine toward Glenn in all three appearances.
And I admit it, he's a conservative far-right [Ding!] lunatic fringer [Ding!]. Also, paranoid [Ding!], delusional [Ding!], and has stepped in too many Sideshow Bob rakes [Ding!].
(The second paragraph was all sarcasm.)

Or Greta Van Susteren.
For the last three weeknights, "The Factor" has been taped in Studio E instead of A. At first, I thought this might have something to do with renovating the set for the show's new look, and maybe switch to HD, in '09. But that probably isn't why. Maybe "Red Eye" is being taped earlier?

Along the lines of the current embed video ("Facebook Crisis 2008"), John Kasich is a Facebook Friend of mine and his current status update says he'll be hosting "The Factor" again tonight.

Great piece by Chickaboomer!
She has Olbermann's number.
I think she's in a bit of denial though about the MSNBC brass.

Capus: "[Chris Matthews] is not running for office."
Guthrie: "He's not?"
Capus: "I don't think so. Well, look, if he were running for office, he wouldn't be on TV."
Thanks to the Cable Game for this bit of brilliance from Steve Capus.

The piece on Olbermannesque Rick Sanchez is accurate as far as it goes, but it misses the essential important thing about the man: he uses the banal cliched observations as cammo for not so banal blue blog accusations and conjectures-- which Sanchez repeats endlessly with only an attribution of "some people".

Considering that BOR is on the left side of a number of major issues, the comment "overwhelming conservative nature" makes me believe the poster only knows what Newshounds tells him.

Apparently Howard Wolfson is going to serve as senior communications adviser to NYC Mayor Bloomberg. I guess his analyst role with FNC was just through the election. Does anyone know for sure?

I thought he signed up for a year. That's usually how those contributor contracts work. It's possible he could do both I suppose but we'll have to see how serious the division of labor turns out to be. I'll poke around and see if I can get some info on Wolfson's status. UPDATE: My sources came thru; see main post.

I'll miss Howard Wolfson. I was wondering why he had disappeared from FNC after the election. This is the equivalent of a sports analyst leaving TV or radio to become a head coach, coordinator, or to take a front office position for a team.

Excellent! Just found this tidbit on TVNewser. Looks like a "must-see!"

Special guests stopping by include Alan Colmes, Sean Hannity, Greta Van Susteren and more "unannounced" guests, sharing their favorite traditions and recipes, singing carols and exchanging presents.
