Fox Haters Week in Review

Chris Wallace: attacked! Marc Lamont Hill: attacked! Glenn Beck: attacked! What's behind it all? Details in today's fun-filled edition of Fox Haters Week in Review!

The Missing Generals
The eagle-eyed snoops at Media Matters never sleep. No instance of unacceptable verbiage escapes their notice, particularly when they can use it to attack Fox News. The latest such incident happened just today, during the panel discussion on Fox News Sunday. One bit of wordplay was so outrageous that Brock's scriveners elevated it to headine status. During a discussion on Afghanistan, after a lengthy bit of commentary from Juan Williams, Chris Wallace jokingly referred to him as "General Williams". Well, no wonder that deserved a headline! It certainly got the desired reaction from the credulous:

  • Chris Wallace, How much longer will the World have to wait for you to Exibit some Credibility? I have never met your Father but i wish i Had. I would hold his face in my hands and say to him "please don't be so Sad"
  • When Chris Wallace mockingly calls Juan Williams "General Williams", he shows his true colors! It wasn't a funny joke - it was mocking Williams. Williams was insulted by Wallace, I believe, because Wallace noticed that Williams pointed out Krauthammer's insult of Joe Biden! And Williams had to be punished for pointing out Krauthammer's insult - that couldn't be left alone.
  • Right wing crackpot-nutjobs do that all the time. It's stock and trade always to include one of thier cutesy little insults with a point they are going to try and make (normally the point is pretty lame).
And yet this is nothing new. Here's a discussion from May of 2006:
WALLACE: And I guess the question is how big a deal is that, and what do you think of General Kristol's idea of, in fact, increasing the number of troops?
WILLIAMS: I don't understand General Kristol. I mean...
Here Chris Wallace calls Bill Kristol "General Kristol"--as does Juan Williams himself--and yet Media Matters made no headline out of that. In fact they never even deemed it worthy to report. Much the same can be said of this exchange:
KRISTOL: And this operation will fail, I'm afraid...
WILLIAMS: But, General Kristol, General Kristol...
KRISTOL: ... if they don't succeed in wiping out...
Why was Media Matters silent over this insulting mockery? No headline, no article, no string of outraged commenters. And then there's this:
WALLACE: Bill, I want to ask you about one aspect of this that Brit kind of referred to. You are clearly on record supporting the surge option. We know where General Kristol stands.
Again Chris Wallace unleashes another "right-wing crackpot-nutjob insult" against...a right-winger? Interestingly, Media Matters did happen to reprint this particular exchange, but Wallace's reference to "General Kristol" was not the headline. It wasn't mentioned at all in Media Matters' analysis or by any of the commenters. In fact, it wasn't even bold-faced in the transcript. Truth be told, Wallace has used the "General Kristol"-type reference often enough that it's almost a running gag. And yet Media Matters has looked the other way for years, only jumping on it now when it involved Juan Williams. Make of that what you will.

Six Degrees of Desperation:
When substantive arguments are not readily available, the desperate know they can always turn to personal attacks. The newshounds are particularly fond of this tactic, going after individuals rather than the substance of what they offer:This sort of argumentation is invariably fraudulent and empty, because it isn't honest or consistent. Scroll through all the praise for Walter Cronkite by the newspoodles and you will never once find the bowsers calling him a "college drop-out". Like we said, this is the most fallacious, hypocritical line of argument imaginable.

And it's no better when others use it. Case in point: David Horowitz, irate at Bill O'Reilly, launches an attack on Dr Marc Lamont Hill:
Tonight he interviewed Hill for an entire segment on the subject of Iran, as though Hill had anything intelligent to say on the subject. Mr. Hill do you think we should give Iran three months or six months to let the UN inspectors in? How would Marc Lamont Hill know? How would he even be in a position to make an intelligent speculation?  By his own account, Hill is an expert on “hip-hop culture,” i.e., rap music. His academic degree is in education. What are his views on foreign policy worth... I wonder if O’Reilly understands that putting on such a lightweight feeds the racism of low expectations.... Having a Columbia professor of rap music comment on the foreign policy views of Karl Rove (who was featured in the preceding segment) is demeaning to Rove... Then we have an aficionado of rap music who happens to be black? What does that say to the television viewer? If O’Reilly wants to bring Hill on to defend Ludacris or some other morally-challenged rapper then fine. If he is the best defender that ACORN can get, then fine too.
Notice how Horowitz uses the Fox hater technique of attacking the education (and the dignity) of someone they disagree with, while carefully avoiding engaging any of the substantive issues raised. Why, he's unqualified to talk about anything except hip-hop and ACORN! Contrary to insults like "a professor of rap music", Dr Hill in fact holds a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania and holds an associate professorship in Education at Columbia University. Besides, when did President Horowitz pass a law that says you need a particular type of sheepskin to comment intelligently on matters of public concern? The bowsers only care about formal education when they can use it to attack Fox. How is Horowitz, who uses the issue as a club against Dr Hill but never raises it when it comes to his ideological allies, any better? (Update: Mr Horowitz has posted a follow-up to his first piece, where he calls Dr Hill Fox's "affirmative action baby". Stay classy!)

Barking Up the Wrong Tree:
Speaking of the biased bassets, they've been busy this week as well. Obama came up with a plan to overhaul college loans, and Fox committed the unpardonable sin: airing a discussion with multiple points of view. (The mastiffs don't want debate, they want conformity.) All it took was for one of six participants to use the term "entitlement" for the brainy guest-blogger to turn that into a headline:
College Subsidies Become "Entitlements" On Fox
Well, so much for the other five viewpoints!
  • Hmmm, loans are now entitlements. It is painfully obvious that the haves want to keep the have nots having naught.
  • The very stupid don't care for them college eja-kated commies anyway. They don't want no more of their tax dollars going to "them hippy kids". So, of course the Repukes think college loans are entitlements and want them stopped!!
  • But now they're calling it socialism and an entitlement. Because a black man is President. The issue isn't really education or healthcare or anything else. The issue is there's a Negro in the White House. And they can't STAND it.
  • Anything that means that those pesky brown and poor people get to go to college is an entitlement in the Cracker Nation.
In fact, Obama's plan would turn grants into entitlements. And it's not "on Fox" where you learn that but in the Washington Post:
The president proposed earlier this year to take Pell Grants out of lawmakers' hands entirely, making the program an entitlement like Social Security and Medicare...

Meanwhile, Priscilla discovered something shocking on foxnews.com:
I suspected that the video, which was titled "how to handle an inappropriate teacher," would be about young Christian students reporting their evil librul teachers to the local school board. Did I have the wrong number!!!! The video looked like a "hot for the teacher" porno flick that had been edited. The "instructions" were clearly tongue in cheek, so to speak.... One wonders why this was selected for Fox's video vault. Was this a "punk" on the part of the "techie" staff who thought that this was amusing or did somebody actually think that this had "redeeming social value." Anyway, it was really weird and although I don't know if this was shown on any Fox shows, it did merit a mention as in WTF?
Why do people who are so ignorant about Fox News pretend to be authorities on the subject? Anyone who merely looks at the video page, or watches five seconds of the clip, will see that this was not produced by Fox. It's a video from howcast.com, a source for clips about every how-to question imaginable, from writing a resume to jump-starting an automobile to blowing a shofar. There are hundreds of these on foxnews.com, in a clearly marked category all their own. They are distributed to dozens of websites, perhaps because Howcast was glowingly written up by the New York Times, not to mention being named one of the top websites by both Time and PC Magazine. You know Prissy, if you don't want to look like a fool, do your own research, then write your article.

Speaking of research, we wonder how much Ellen Brodsky actually watches Fox "so you don't have to". She just tumbled to the fact that News Watch has an email address for viewer tips. And that wasn't because she saw it herself, but because someone told her about it! News Watch has been on the air for more than ten years, and only now Ellen learns of their email address? Does she watch anything on Fox News?

Well she does claim to watch Hannity (and Hannity & Colmes before that), and uses her vast viewing experience to come up with this whopper:
Hannity Develops A Sudden Interest In Afghanistan War – Just In Time To Attack Obama Over It. Can anyone remember Sean Hannity showing any interest in the war in Afghanistan? I’ve been following him pretty closely for more than four years and the only time I can recall him showing any interest in it is when he attacked then-candidate Barack Obama for saying the US has air raided villages and killed civilians.
Here's one of those nonexistent Afghanistan discussions, here's another, another, and another, another, and another. Need we go on? When will Brodsky and her bowsers start telling the truth?

Truth Like Football...:
The last time we had the misfortune to write about the little green footballers they were using URL tricks to claim Fox was "pimping" a video when they weren't. This week they were back on the bash Beck bandwagon, first posting an article with the headline:
Glenn Beck: Frog Killer
and then, when Mr Beck called them out for that, following up with this gem:
Glenn Beck Lies About LGF
First things first: the "Frog Killer" piece. You know you are going to get some really insightful, informed analysis when the writer says:
I don’t watch Glenn Beck, but...
Yep, that's certainly where we would turn for the truth about Glenn Beck--to someone who never watches him! The footballers present a youtube video, and then add:
...but readers inform me that after this segment Beck revealed he was using a rubber frog.
Actually that's not exactly true. Beck revealed it as part of that segment. Indeed, here is the tail end of the youtube video that LGF chose to post. The first two lines are included on the video. Then it cuts off and the third line (bolded here) is edited out:
Forget about the Republicans, because most of them are fake. Forget about the Democrats, because most of them are fake. And forget about the frog, because it was fake.
The video was deliberately edited and LGF went with it anyhow. Then the next day, they took umbrage claiming that Beck was "lying about LGF":
Beck portrayed this as if I accused him — literally — of killing a frog. As you can see, that’s nothing short of a lie.
In fact, Beck read the LGF headline ("Glenn Beck: Frog Killer") and played LGF's doctored video that cuts out the line where he says the frog's a fake. Glenn Beck didn't write that headline. The footballers did. Glenn Beck didn't embed the doctored video. LGF did. It wasn't that long ago when the Huffington Post used a doctored video to spread a false accusation about John Gibson complete with a bold-type headline. Nobody there bothered to verify the video before posting it. Is what LGF did that much different?

Oh, one more thing. While howling that Glenn Beck is "lying" about them, the footballers saw fit to toss this stinkbomb:
Since Glenn Beck just launched an attack on me on his comedy show (right after a Ron Paul-like isolationist rant about bringing all US troops home now)...
Anyone who knows Ron Paul's position on Afghanistan is aware that he cites such things as oil, Israel, the "neocons", the Israeli "neocons", and...did we forget to mention the "neocons"? Glenn Beck's comments on Afghanistan, expressed in depth on that broadcast, could hardly be more different:
BECK: Mr President, you can't decide whether to follow the advice of the General you yourself appointed to run the war?... It's been nearly a month. We can't commit to doing what our own General--Mr President, your General--deems necessary in Afghanistan?
There's much more, so watch for yourself:

Is this a Ron Paul-like isolationist rant against oil interests, neocons, and the state of Israel? Or did Little Green Footballs just lie about Glenn Beck? In the words of Charlie Chan: "Truth like football--receive many kicks before reaching goal."

Fox Fan
Let me add to this FHWiR some recent gems from an actual Fox Hater, Patrick:
"This is about as low as someone can go"
"(It) just shows the moral fiber or lack of (sic) there of that you both have..."
"You have done something that is low beyond an internet war..."
And my personal favorite:
"Fox Fan it just shows how far a person will go, so I guess in that way you have beaten me, while (sic) I said some pretty bad things I would never stoop to this level."
Then further in the thread he comes up with these ironic gems:
"try as you might I am the original Patrick and you Fox Fan are just a cheap immitation (sic)."
Oh no, it's the Fetid Patrick!
"Im a little poopy drawer baby and need my daddy becuase (sic) I am a retarded bitch."
I wonder if he calls his autistic son that...

Would a person with an autistic child go around calling people 'retard'? That just doesn't seem likely.

Another telling thing about Patrick is this statement from his blog:
"But one important thing ####cecelia is that Obama is president, and the country see all of you conservatives are just bitter plain white trailer trash.."
Forgetting the fact that his statement is actually two things, according to Mr. Google, Mr. Patrick happens to live in a trailer. Oh, and his beautiful little kids give us an idea of his skin tone.
BTW - nothing wrong with mobile home living Patrick.

Ashley, Patrick has already deleted his blog on Salon.
I too find it hard to understand that anyone with an autistic child would link that condition to mental retardation.
I find it hard to understand that anyone with an autistic child would have called someone retarded because they have Asperger Syndrome and then stalk them all over the web, as Patrick has with Mike C.
Patrick has EXPRESSLY stated that he will continue to stalk the "freak boy" and to insult and embarrass him on any board where he posts, no matter how apolitical the content of the particular blog.
He said this to Mike C.... not to Blackflon. Not FoxFan. Not Cecelia. Not Grammie. Not Ramjet.
Why would Patrick focus upon and bother Mike C, an ardent fan of O'Reilly's, but really the least political and the least conservative poster here?
He does it because Mike has increased stress with such intrusions into his daily structure.
Patrick does it BECAUSE Mike has mild autism.
Hard to understand, indeed.
But mostly I find it hard to understand that anyone else would be associated with Patrick and anything he writes.
Intelligent and credible people can hate FNC, Johnny, Johnny's blog, me, Ashley, etc... and they can disapprove of anything I might believe and hold dear, etc... as a plethora of people at NHs do.
However, if you sit on a blog belonging to Patrick, you have NO credibility. You haven't associated yourself with someone passionate but occasionally silly... or untutored/immature but well-intentioned... or angry for a good cause (or even a good provocation)...or someone who gets carried away over partisanship...etc...etc.
Politics isn't the reason for Patrick's pathology. It's merely his pretext. It's his excuse.
No, you've decided to pal around and to follow a deeply disturbed, hateful, and potentially dangerous human being, because your own animus has grown so huge that it virtually dwarfs any sense of perspective that you may have once possessed (if you ever did possess it).
You have NO discernment. You have have NO credibility. You have NOTHING to say that should be entertained for one moment.
You are birds of a feather and you're done.

I'm not sure how Fox Fan using Patrick's gravitar of his alleged kids is an "attack" on the kids.
(BTW-- I DEVOUTLY hope those kids are merely an attempt by Patrick to build some sort of personal history via the internet)
Patrick posted with that gravitar on Huff-Po, so it's not like Fox Fan has made public some aspect of Patrick's life that he wished to remain unexposed.
Fox Fan is merely gigging Patrick on this board and Patrick is having a grand time pretending to be outraged and affronted and pretending to be anything other than delighted by the attention and the fracas.

What a cesspool over at the Al Frankenstein sub blog. Apparently to the nutjobs Anisha, John the idiot T, and the l'il feller, I'm attacking the li'l fellers children when I say "his beautiful little kids". They're claiming I'm attacking the kids, along with many of my fellow posters here at J$P.
The li'l feller has been going after Mike C anywhere he can find him. Patrick used the photos of his own children in his latest attack on Mike C over at Mediaite. Why would Patrick use his childrens photo (remember he says that one of his own children has a mental handicap), and bring that photo into an attack against someone he regularly slurs with the derogatory term "retard"? Why - a sickness of course. And his little friends Anisha and John T go right along with the vulgarities and obscene slurs.

"The idiot can't be serious can he? Comparing Hannity with Walter Cronkite. Even using Walter Cronkite in the same comment with Hannity the idiot shows his ignorance. Then to talk about personal attacks. Hey Dollar, maybe you should look at your own little chat room and your 6 little sheep."
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, he really is that stupid.
Of course he never went to college. I am surprised the News Mutts allow him to post on their site.
It sure looks like busterjont has become the latest dog washer for Ellen. He spends an inordinate amount of time talking to himself on Reddit.

Although others have already said most of what I think about the gravitar FF is using, and better than I can do it, I just wanted to get on the record b/c I think it is somewhat important.
First, based on my own experience with Patrick and his plethora of nom de loons those lovely boys may or may not be related to him at all. For all I KNOW he got the pic out of his new Xmas wallet. If Patrick told me the sun rose this morning and was shining brightly I would open my door to make sure it was sunlight and not klieg lights brightening my windows.
Second, Patrick has, and still brags about it to this day, followed Mike around and viciously attacked him personally over and over. As Cecelia said, he does it BECAUSE it is upsetting to Mike due to his Arnsperger and Patrick gets off on that. How perverted is that?
Third, Patrick has gotten himself banned at several blogs just because of the above. At ICN he proudly told Spud he would say what he wanted about Mike and he couldn't be stopped. Spud commented that he would play wack-a-mole with him forever if that was what it took. BTW, Spud won.
Fourth, he behaves as if he is on a crusade ordained by God to get back on blogs that have banned him for, among other things, sexual insults and foul language. Who could forget the name he used for weeks to refer to Cecelia. Patrick is like a rat, he can squeeze through a pin hole to disrupt sites where he is not welcome.
Fifth, he personally contacts Mike over and over to play his sick little games. Par for the course for the creepy little twerp that is Patrick.
Sixth, if you are sincere that you want to protect those children in that pic what the hell was he doing putting it out there in the public domain and then identifying them for one and all. If he won't protect them any better than that exactly why would he expect strangers to treat his alledged "very own" boys better than he does?
As little respect as I have for that little creep I don't have much more for anyone who willingly allies themselves with him, including our Bovine Patsy!

What's interesting J$ is that John the Idiot T keeps proving Blackflon right.
After my 1:31 post today where I wrote "If he actually read FHWiR, he would know that no one compared Cronkite to O'Reilly."
Well, John T in all of his wisdom responded at the Cesspool Blog saying about me "Talk about actually reading something. If she would have read my comment I didn't say Dollar compared Cronkite to O'Reilly. He put HANNITY in the same category as Cronkite. For this stupis a## to call someone else an idiot and talk about someone actually reading something is a big friggin joke."
He didn't say it, let's look at exactly what he said:
"The idiot can't be serious can he? Comparing Hannity with Walter Cronkite. Even using Walter Cronkite in the same comment with Hannity the idiot shows his ignorance."
And to think, John T calls ME "Stupis"!
Looks like John T is scoring points in the "Who's dumber: Patrick or John T 2010 Contest". My money is still on the li'l feller though. However, John "Stupis" T is a strong contender.

"Comparing Hannity with Walter Cronkite."
He really does have reading comprehension issues. Where exactly did I "compare" Hannity to Cronkite? In fact, I contrasted the way the curs make formal education their premier talking point...except for when they don't. It sheer, utter hound hypocrisy, and it doesn't surprise me one whit that it's all way too complexicated for our favorite rocket scientist to grasp it. Maybe we should put age recommendations on the FHWiR, you know like those old Milton Bradley games. We could label them for ages 14-adult, then he wouldn't waste time trying to read them.

Where you a Canadian? Huh?
We you an objector tell us dollar? Huh?
The li'l feller tells us he served in Iraq. If that's true, then he must mean serving french fries at the Baghdad Burger King. Ain't no way the li'l feller is a vet. No member of our great armed forces would treat someone like Mike C the vile way that Patrick does.

Patrick wrote "Anisha, I used it and Mediate thru my facebook and did not realize that they would use my profile picture on facebook as my profile pic on meidate. "
Cecelia's link showed that Patrick made several posts at that Blog, PRIOR to the Mediaite article, which also linked to Facebook and the Li'l fellers photo of the two children is there for all to see in each of his posts.
Of course at the Mediaite article, he posted twice. He would have seen the photo of his children in his first message, yet continued to post again. He did nothing about it for several days, until FF used the photo.

Patrick somehow feels morally superior because this thread contains items about him and his blog. Patrick, you do understand that this thread is devoted to Fox Haters, right? And since you spread lies about Fox (BOR caused Dr. Tiller to commit suicide), you are more than worthy to be a subject of this thread.
Also Patrick - I am not "ItsMeYouMoron" over at your cessblog. First, I don't post there because I don't want you to have my IP address. Second, I would hope that you would understand by now that there is more than one person who thinks you are an idiot. Third, you obviously have not read J$ rules for personal attacks. It concerns other posters and you don't post here, remember?
We had a fella that posted here sometime back. I asked that poster, Al Frankenstein, if he had ever posted here before. He said "no". Well, taking "Al" at his word meaning that he was not the li'l feller, I was then able to explain to "Al" exactly how stupid, vulgar, stupid, vile, stupid, incomprehensible, stupid, vulgar, stupid, incoherent, and stupid the li'l feller is. Wouldn't you know, you then show up at the Cessblog, post under a ton of names, and you prove me right. Again, and again, and again.
Thank you Li'l Feller!

I have been puzzled by what could possibly be the motivation behind The Twerp's obscession with Mike to the point that he tracks him all over just to hurl the same vicious insults over and over. I think I figured it out.
Mike is an obviously good guy who is welcomed wherever he goes and is well liked and well respected. We've seen it here, at OW, at ICN.
The Twerp wears out any welcome he gets PDQ. To be booted off NH for foul language and behavior is a pretty amazing feat but the doofus managed it anyway.
By virtue of Mike's very existence and warm welcome wherever he goes Mike is an affront and painful to The Twerp who can only dream of earning such treatment from others.

How in the hell would this little coward know what members of the military think? Hey Ashley, where were you during the Vietnam War?
I guess John T disagrees with my statement that members of the military have integrity.
What was I doing during the vietnam war John T(he idiot)? Lots of things, playing baseball, riding my bike, doing homework, watching Wacky Races on Saturday morning TV, and then watching the war end and discussing it in my 9th grade Social Studies class.
Why do you have a sudden interest in 14 year old boys?

Wow, I'm embarrassed that I didn't list that as #1.
Gosh, the li'l feller has already lied a couple of times today. The liar just recently posted a quote supposedly from me which he heavily doctored. The fool has to make things up.

Would this qualify as a "fox hater?" Is it coincidental that most of the tp posters are newshounds posters, too?

Hannity is so outragous and ridiculous with his BS. He will stop at nothing to try and hurt our president and his policies. Hannity does nothing but hurt the country that he says he loves. He is a traitor and he should stand before a firing squad and get what he deserves.
Just minutes later on the same thread. Wow!
