Seems like yesterday when Haggis, the Li'l feller, and others were proclaiming FNC to be dead since there was going to be an Obama Administration.
From the Historic Numbers Link:
Fox News will finish 2009 as the top-rated cable news network, a perch it has enjoyed for eight years running. But 2009--the first year of the Obama administration--also marks FNC's highest rated year in the channel's 13-year-history.

Johnny - thanks for the Jack Benny link. Even as a kid, I was a Jack Benny fan and was very sad when he died. I always thought he died too young, he just seemed so youthful, but he was 80 when he passed. Good seeing Mel Blanc in a straight role, he's one of the greats. The look on Benny's face when Blanc says the wallet cost $40 was classic.
Great stuff!

Great profile on John Stossel. Sorry I missed this ep of 20/20. Anyone know if its on YouTube?
"While at 20/20, for example, he challenged Columbia University undergraduates over their refusal to let a right-wing advocate speak there. He let them spout off in front of the camera on why the man shouldnt be given a forum there while straight-facedly calling themselves First Amendment supporters."

Interesting - BOR gets invited to White House Christmas Party for the Press, but Cankles Olbermann was not invited. Neither was Ed (Sgt.) Schulz.

Wow O'Reilly laid into Laura Ingraham tonight over Bill's praising yesterday Michelle Obama at the White House Christmas Party. He used the terms 'blind ideologue' and 'Kool-Aid drinker'.

I saw O'Reilly put down Ingraham's remarks. She may refuse to every sub on the Factor again.
Well, I can hope....

For me, tonight was the worst "O'Reilly Factor" I've seen in a long time. All I liked was the Bill-only segments: T-Points, Reality Check, P&P, and mail.

As long as we're going after O'Reilly, let me toss in another observation. There's one weekly segment that just doesn't work for me, the one with John Stossel. It seems uncomfortable for both of them. They don't seem to get each other's line of thinking and it's like they're talking past each other. Too bad they can't replace this with The Dhue Point.

I like the Stossel Matters segment. Here are the segments/guests that are hit-and-miss with me: Ingraham Angle, Fridays with Geraldo, Is It Legal, Did You See That, Kelly File, Culture Warriors, Dick Morris, Juan Williams & Mary Katharine Ham, Karl Rove. To be honest, I find Laura Ingraham to be more miss than hit. But that's just me (if you're reading this, David Smawley).
These segments are winners: Weekdays with Bernie, Hume Zone, Great American News Quiz, Miller Time, At Your Beck & Call, Barack & a Hard Place, Dumbest Things of the Week.
If it were up to me, Laurie Dhue and E.D. Hill would still be with FNC, but they're not.

Yecch! CNN is bringing back super-skank Kathy Griffin; I feel like puking. She is gross, vicious, and not the slightest bit funny. In other words, a younger version of Joy Behar.
I caught one disgusting double-entendre from her once when she was on "Larry King Live" several weeks ago. She was babbling some weird musings about her future and then said, "You see, Larry, I'm thinking outside my box." Larry didn't catch the hidden meaning and just kept on with the show.
This is what passes for left-wing humor, folks.

For the fourth year in a row, my station of choice on New Year's Eve night will be FNC.

My choice for New Year's Eve midnight is to be in a lip-lock with my man.
Don't tell my husband.
(KIDDING!)
