Parroted from Media Matters of course, who themselves carefully chose certain hours on certain days to make MSNBC look good, skipping over the times when they ignored the quake entirely.
FNC has something no other cable news channel has: an entire hour of pure hard news with no pundits, no debates--the only evening newscast on cable. After they do that 7:00 pm hour they are already ahead of CNN and MSNBC in coverage, regardless of what happens afterward. So they have more freedom to explore other approaches or issues from 8:00 pm beyond.
You'll note how MM, the newsliars, and the rest always chose their comparison hours using some metric that insures 7:00 pm isn't counted. That's not by accident.

will this be something you take on with your next FHWIR? To be honest-I even thought about doing a post around MM item-but chose not to.

Joe Scarborough and the Morning Joe panel have spent the entire morning suggesting that Rush Limbaugh told his followers to refrain from donating to ANY...ANY...ANY...ANY... relief organization efforts towards Haiti.
That is a mischaracterization and they know it.

Limbaugh came out on his radio show and called it a flat out lie. It was in response to a caller who challenged him on it.

Speaking of movies... I watched a GREAT one on tv last night.
Anatomy of a Murder, with Jimmy Stewart. The plot, the acting, and the soundtrack are all fantastic!
I watched it on Turner Classic, but I'm sure it could be netflixed.

Olbermann lied last night. Olbermann said that Limbaugh's site did not have a link in order to donate to Haiti-of course I checked it out and there WAS A LINK on the top of the page- and its still there

I have no problem with CNNs Dr Sanjay reporting and providing medical care. I think its great. Sometimes you have to do what is MORALLY right

Re: "Beck defector": How long will it be before Gresham appears on "Countdown" to tell Mr. Olby what the big bad Lonesome Rhodes [Ding!] Beck did to him and how glad he is to be at MSNBC?

Speaking of Lonesome Rhodes, the film "A Face in the Crowd" will be shown on TCM on Monday Night/Tuesday Morning....12:00 AM Eastern Time on Tuesday. It is a great film, when you watch it, you'll see that the Lonesome Rhodes/Olby analogy is much much closer than the Lonesome Rhodes/Beck analogy.

Cankles had his rear end kicked in big time by Campbell Brown/CNN.
By the way, is it just me, or is Olby beginning to look like Henry Kissinger?

The Factor is great as usual tonight. Glad to see Dr. Hill during the Danny Glover segment, but also glad to see Ray Stevens. He's put out the anti-Obamacare song so I'm sure the haters will be going on the attack against him. While he's likely most known for his novelty songs (The Streak), he also made one of the best songs of the 19070s.

I loved Ray's "Factor" appearance. And at the same time, thanks to Bill, I learned more about Maria Muldaur's "Midnight at the Oasis." I was first exposed to that song through saxophonist Kim Waters' cover of it. I like his arrangement the best out of all the versions I've heard, with all due respect to Maria. "Ahab the Arab" might have come out in 1962, but the video looked like it was shot in the '80s.

I'd like to hear that version sometime. Muldaur's version is great, it brings back some fantastic memories from the Summer of 1974 on Long Island.

Kim's version is on his 1998 album "Love's Melody."
I don't want to drift too far from cable news. So, I'll stop here.
