I'm afraid you can't muster much support for Megyn in a contest with Minka.
For the record, I prefer Megyn.

I was most disappointed that I couldn't put in "anyone else" for Heidi "half-my-body-is-plastic-and-the-other-half-is-also-plastic" Monta-whatever. Ewww... no thank you.

I'm kind of wondering if Bill O'Reilly is resentful that Baier got the interview. I always thought O'Reilly figured Obama would come back to his show first.

I know what you mean. I bet O'Reilly is also resentful that Baier and Beck are on earlier than him... and is probably resentful that Greta is on later. In fact, I once heard a rumor that O'Reilly resented Megyn Kelly's new show, because it's on at 1:00 easten, and he likes everything "number 1" to be associated with him.
Looks like more FNC in-fighting...
/sarcasm
Methinks your desire to find conflicts amongst the FNC staff is causing you to make up some pretty goofy theories. They talked about the interview tonight... and as Hume said, despite all the attacking they've done against FNC, when they're prepared to pull out all the stops and they need one final push... guess who they turn to... That's far more interesting than (non-)squabbling media personalities.

Now, you can't really be arguing against the fact that O'Reilly believes himself to be King of Fox, can you? It doesn't take a News Hounds writer to figure that out.

Really? Then why does O'Reilly have hosts on from other shows? Why does he promote their shows?
Why would he take the chance of promoting someone else on the Network so they might get an interview over him?
And why? Oh Why? Would Obama want to go on a channel that his administration has been telling people over and over again not to watch?
Gee? Why?

Talking about bias and unsubstantiated facts -- the Administration hasn't been telling people not to watch Fox, they've been telling people not to view it as a "real" news organization. I've got a question: Why do you not want to admit what most cable viewers, Fox lovers or not, will admit, and that's that O'Reilly has a huge ego and he lords it over any other hosts who come on his show (just watch the Culture Warriors for a dose of that, or his segments with Beck)? I'm not arguing whether his egotism is valid or not -- he has a huge following, after all -- but it's awfully hard to deny the fact of it.

Oh, yes... if I were to tell people not to think of CNBC as a place where they could find anything informative about the business world, it wouldn't mean I was telling them not to watch it...

WOW! Julie try decaf. I think your splitting hairs here "the administration has not but has been? OMG!
And I can see how you deflected my question with another question, okay Julie. You hate FNC, that's okay it's your choice to rant and rave. If you read my comments on here and other blogs. You would see I watch FNC & other channels. I chose what I want to watch. I'm not a mind numb robot that needs a website to tell me what to think. And I've checked yours and I've posted there in the past only to have my post deleted, so let's not fool anybody with what kind of site you run.
O'Reilly is from Long Island, I get it. He has an ego, got that. Wow! Is this what you call breaking news at whatever website you run? Does Maddow have an ego? Does Rick Sanchez have an ego? Does Chris Matthews have an ego?
I hope one day you can put your energy into a positive situation. I find your fascination with anything Anti-FNC head scratching. So, the channel doesn't follow in lockstep with your thought pattern. There are shows I don't like on FNC. Julie you know what I do? I change the channel. Very simple Julie, you should try it.
BTW: Feel free to rant all you want, I check this site out every few days. FNC pro & con is not an obsession with me.
And I know what you will come back with, so here's my answer "Everything about cable news and the truth about the Fox News Channel". Now does Johnny say anywhere. Watch FNC! Watch FNC! Nope!
But if we go to that website I think you write on you say. "We watch Fox, so you don't have to." Okay, why can't I watch for myself and debate in a civil tone? Not at your site that's for sure.

Puck30: I'm sorry I missed your comment before. This is not the first time I've heard the comment that people can't debate at our site in a civil tone. Can I ask you what your experiences have been at the News Hounds site in terms of civil debate?

Well with Newshounds track record of "honest" and "non baised" reporting...I think we know how much weight to give that "news Flash".
If thats how you really see O'Reily its no wonder you post what you do.

Another country heard from? Gatxer, I give O'Reilly credit in my posts where credit is due -- unlike your rabid defense of Fox, I don't have a rabid, pathological desire to find bias everywhere. Oh, it exists, undoubtedly, but I weigh it against the truth. I challenge you to find any post of mine on News Hounds that is dishonest. And yes, that's how I see O'Reilly . . . along with the rest of the free world.

JD,
One of thye issues I have with your posts is your reliance on judgements of what others believe, or feel and your penchent for making an unsubstantiated statement, then proclaiming it as obviously true, and then....and then preemptiveiy chiding anyone who could possibly believe otherwise.
Who knows what O'Reilly believes. Certainly not me, nor you either, I'd venture. More to the point, who cares and what does it matter?
O'Reilly isn't the King of Fox. He's the undisputed King of Cable News.
My perception is that President Obama wants to reach the largest number of persuadable Fox News viewers as possible. Also, he knows his presence will generate huge ratings and Special Report provides a more presidential setting, while The Factor gave candidate Obama an opportunity to to make his bones by taking on O'Reilly.
As an aside, and admittedly a biased opinion, I believe Obama deciding to go on FNC is an ego thing.

ramjet, Maybe I'll reassess my "charm" comment . . . seriously, though, I'm not sure what "reliance on others believe" you're referring to, or what "unsubstantiated" statement you're talking about, but, first, I don't "chide" anyone who doesn't think as I do -- I believe what I believe, and back it up with facts pulled from other O'Reilly segments, as well as a dose of my own opinion. It's not all one thing. What's amazing to me is that anyone -- lover of Fox or, like me, not so much -- would really argue against the fact that O'Reilly has a terrific ego that drives a lot of what he says and does. I believe you're right about President Obama -- he wants to reach maximum viewers, and he's also no punk. I'm sure he has no fear of Bret Baier.

Julie, I hope this helps clear up what I was referring to. It's not a big deal. In fact, it's a compliment of your debating skills. Perhaps there's a future for you on cable news or even in Washington, D.C.
then proclaiming it as obviously true,

I'd venture that the reason you raised some cynicism is because you seem to infer that in a field where agression and competitiveness (the O'Reilly attitude, if you will...) rule, that O'Reilly is a breed apart.

If I inferred that O'Reilly is a breed apart due to his arrogance, that wasn't my intention -- and of course it wouldn't be true. I was simply pointing out that he is ego-driven and I think it's important to him to be the top dog on Fox.

Julie, most high profile TV personalities are ego driven. They wouldn't be where they are if they didn't have a large ego. Same goes for CEO's.

It appears FNC is hosting the only private shindig (does anyone say Washington cocktail party anymore?) prior to the actual RTCA dinner.
http://www.mediabistro.com/fishbowlDC/events/fncs_predinner_soiree_to_entertain_obama_officials_valerie_jarrett_tops_guest_list_155266.asp
Soirees are often more engaging than a sit-down dinner hosted by some bald guy telling bad put down jokes aimed at the assembled diners. Anyone but Robert Gibbs or Al Gore would be better.
If Bret badly beats Barack, Rahn might take someone's place at the pre-dinner party.

Bret will not badly beat Barack -- I predict he'll try too hard not to be soft, and won't conduct an effective interview. O'Reilly's interview with Obama, on the other hand, I thought was very engaging.
