You don't have to imagine it. The screaming and accusations that this sort of thing 'never happens by mistake' are on record.

The whole idea of bailouts reek. We will end up with a government of special rather than general interests. There's a reason the Constitution does not provide for a government managed economy: it's too complex for any one person or group to oversee. To appeal to special interests means favors done only for the politically strong. Government will be done by raw power in a might makes right scenario. I cannot imagine the Founders would want that.

F&FWeekend was bearable today. The two guys even stunk it up on Fox's online strategyroom broadcast. If breaking news breaks on the weekend aleast Allison is there to cover them.

I didn't notice the accidental "(R)" when I first watched last night, but did notice when I watched my tape this afternoon. This was in the Top Story II segment with Mike Huckabee. In the other two Not-So-Hot-Anymore Rod-related segments, the Governor was properly identified as a "(D)".
Anyway, yeah, that's a definite oops.

It's just pure sloppiness...Simple as that.
I had to laugh this morning...I saw a bit of F&F before the football started(soccer)...Only Fox would try and make something out of Joe Biden getting a puppy...He was simply getting it to be one up on Obama....Desperation by FNC.
Nice to see the new green FNC logo...Obviously the folk at FNC aren't paying any attention to the ramblings of Hannity and the likes.

I see Chippy, it's pure sloppiness when Fox does it, but when other networks do it (as happens all the time) it's a humorous accident that portrays their human side.

What ramblings from Hannity are anti-green? He drives a hybrid, what do you drive Chipster?

Perhaps you need to have some coffee before embarking on your morning (s)troll.

I have to disagree with you....Its pure sloppiness when any news channel does it.

"what do you drive Chipster?"

I have a Mini cooper S...Think Italian job 2....Yes the remake was crap but that's the car I have...

"What ramblings from Hannity are anti-green?"

Correct tyre pressures spring to mind...What a noddle head he was over that.

How am I a troll...This is a cable news channel site....I'm simply commenting on cable news with a centre left perspective....I didn't realise I needed to be a Right Winger to comment here...Even though most posters are of that Persuasion.

So Wallace will get his interview with Cheney next Sunday. I always thought reporters weren't supposed to show their colours...Something Fox always harps on about when talking about other news channels.
Wallace has came up trumps with his open support of this administration. Remember what Condoleezza Rice once said "My Fox guys, I love every single one of them." Apparently Cheney thinks the same way.

That's what I like about Condi: she's fair and balanced. She likes Colmes as much as Hannity, Beckel as much as Luntz, and Marc Lamont Hill as much as Geraldo.

How did Wallace openly support the administration? Don't tell me that his factual criticism of the Nixon/Frost movie is your evidence. Nothing he said in that exchange expressed any support whatsoever for the administration.

I don't think Miss Rice was referring to FNC Contributors...Like Beckel/Luntz/Hill.

“thank you so much for defending the president and yes I’m going to be giving you a special exit interview in a couple of weeks?”

GALLAGHER: Did he say all that to you?

WALLACE: Yes.

When was it the job of a reporter to defend the President?...As I said...showing his true colours.
switch it around....Imagine if Biden said the same thing to an NBC reporter...I can hear Doocy/Hannity/O'reilly now.

I'm sorry I asked you to tell me what WALLACE said that supported the administration. That was your claim. Can you quote what he said that "supports the administration" during that exchange, or not? If not, you are obviously exposed as wrong again.

Cheney obviously thought that Wallace defended the President...As he then felt the need to say personally to Wallace “thank you so much for defending the president" This defence of the President then prompted a "special exit interview"...As we all know, it's a big NO-NO for reporters to take sides....But Wallace plainly did this here.

On a side note...I can highly recommend "Frost/Nixon"

I didn't ask you waht CHeney said. I asked you what Wallace said. Either you have an answer, or you are again deliberately not telling the truth. I'm surprised that you weren't as outraged at Wallace's "open support" (as you define it) for Barack Obama, but I undersatnd how this works. So here's your last chance to quote Wallace's statement that constituted an "open" endorsement of the administration. Last chance.

"I think to compare what Nixon did, and the abuses of power for pure political self-preservation, to George W. Bush trying to protect this country -- even if you disagree with rendition or waterboarding -- it seems to me is both a gross misreading of history both then and now," Mr. Wallace said.

It's not a reporters job to defend the President....It's the 1st thing your taught at journalism school...Don't favour one side over the other...Wallace obviously crossed that line here....So much so he was granted "special exit interview"
I don't think we're going to agree over this...So I'll leave it at that. I'm not wanting to be banned.

There's nothing wrong with that. I'm only joking....If what you say here is true...It looks like Wallace doesn't know what side of the fence he's on...He's simply forgotten he's supposed to be ON the fence.

Are you claiming that his statement wasn't factual? That a reporter isn't supposed to check facts and expose false premises? Where does he say anywhere in that statement that he is openly supporting the administration?

Is he openly supporting Obama because he said on F&F that there was too much Obama bashing going on?

You are either so ignorant that you think a question that states a plain, historical fact equals openly supporting the Bush administration. Which suggests monumental stupidity and galloping naivete. Or you know perfectly well what you are doing, and fulfilling your appointed duties as the latest designated provocateur.

Either way, your participation is becoming increasingly worthless.

No reporters aren't supposed to be on the fence. They are supposed to report the facts, challenge the spin, and show no favoritism. A reporter who never challenges anything, for fear of some pinhead accusing him of 'supporting' this or that, isn't much of a reporter. There's more to journalism than serving as a human mic stand.

Steady there is no need to get personal...We've simply debating a difference in opinion here.

"They are supposed to report the facts, challenge the spin, and show no favoritism."

Your right there...But they're not supposed to inject their own opinion...What Wallace said after the Frost/Nixon screening was his own opinion.

"Is he openly supporting Obama because he said on F&F that there was too much Obama bashing going on?"

Wallace was quite right when he chastised the Friends...But he wasn't taking Obama's side on anything...He was simply telling the Friends enough is enough.

Let's see if I have this right:

CM makes the comment "Wallace has came up trumps with his open support of this administration."

J$ responds with a simple question to CM "How did Wallace openly support the administration? "

CM responds with the following, a quote from some unnamed reporter followed by Wallace saying"Yes."

J$, still not getting an answer to his question says "Can you quote what he said that "supports the administration" during that exchange, or not? If not, you are obviously exposed as wrong again."

CM, for the second time, is not able to provide a quote where Wallace defended the administration, but provides a wordy post at (5:31 pm | #) without providing that quote.

JS asks for a third time "I didn't ask you waht CHeney said. I asked you what Wallace said. Either you have an answer, or you are again deliberately not telling the truth."

Then, CM finally comes up with a lame answer, it's Wallaces comments complaining about what Ron Howard and the movie producers were saying.

If this is going to be your standard baghdAD bob, for what is DEFENDING the President, I can't wait to see the deafening hypocritical silence (or perhaps the sounds of crickets) coming from you about the reporters talking about Obama see Starting 1/20/09 at 12:01 ET.

Chris Matthews speaking of the Obama Administration:

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Yeah, well, you know what? I want to do everything I can to make this thing work, this new presidency work, and I think that --

JOE SCARBOROUGH: Is that your job? You just talked about being a journalist!

MATTHEWS: Yeah, it is my job. My job is to help this country.

...and of course their is Keith "Czechoslovakia" Obama doing a lightning fast 180 over FISA. He railed against FISA for years, then did an immediate turnaround when Obama did.

I understand. Reporting facts when they are advantageous to Bush's legacy is "injecting (the reporter's) opinion". Openly supporting Obama is "quite right" for reporters. Thanks for clearing things up for us CM!

BTW, I am a fan of the Mini Cooper.

So, the major improvement to 12H was Julie? Okay. Well, you're right.  Unfortunately, she said at the close of tonight's "Fox Report" that she's going on vacation and she'll see us when she gets back.
"Hannity's America" tonight features a piece where Ainsley Earhardt flies with the Air Force Thunderbirds. My TV is muted until then.

Wow, that new Manson Doc looks hot, new, fresh, crisp, groundbreaking and cutting edge! The folks over at FNC ought to be running scared right now.
