'A Great Addition to Our Team'

J$P Video! Lanny Davis joins the Live Desk political panel to make his debut as a Fox News political analyst:

Lanny Davis doesn't like Obama, no big surprise Fox snatched him up. Another gutless kiss-ass that will play ball with Fox's anti-Democratic themes.

What in the wide world of sports are you talking about? Lanny Davis has come out for Obama, and is meeting with him tomorrow.

Apparently Lanny Davis, by himself, is a rebuttal to Dick Morris, Frank Luntz, Oliver North, Laura Ingraham and Karl Rove all by himself.

Been watching Laura Ingraham's new show. Haven't seen a solo interview with a Democrat yet, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I've only seen solo interviews with Republicans such as Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, etc...

Saying that Lanny Davis has "come out" for Barack Obama is pathetic. Of all the Democrats Fox chose, they specifically chose one whom they KNEW was the most vocally opposed to him in the first place. During the primary he repeatedly came on Fox and attacked Obama over the Wright issue and never once defended Obama.

They picked someone who they knew only half-heartedly supports OBama at best, and if Clinton doesn't get the VP ticket, I'd be surprised to see if he had anything positive to say about Obama during the campaign at all.

They did the same thing with Pat Caddell during the 04' campaign. Bring on a Republican to trash Kerry, and Caddell would sit there, nod his head and mumble "Yeah, basically, I agree".

Happily. She interviewed Obama's foreign policy advisor today. Of course you might have missed it. It was only the first interview on the program.

> Of all the Democrats Fox chose, they specifically chose one whom they KNEW was the most vocally opposed to him in the first place.

Well they already have a bunch of Democrats on the payroll who supported Obama: Beckel, Marc Lamont Hill, to name two.

Where do you get your facts from anyhow?

"Happily. She interviewed Obama's foreign policy advisor today. "

Ok, she's been on the air for three days now and I've seen about a half dozen solo interviews with conservatives and Republicans, including Rush Limbaugh, Thompson, Romney, blah blah.

Would you care to name a second Democrat she's done a solo interview with?

"Well they already have a bunch of Democrats on the payroll who supported Obama: Beckel, Marc Lamont Hill, to name two."

See, this right here is why it's hard to take you serious. When it comes to naming Republicans on Fox who support McCain, I could probably list 50, literally off the top of my head, from Rick Santorum to Karl Rove to Oliver North, etc.. etc...

Yet, off the top of your head, you can only name two Democrats who support Obama. Sorry, but that's not a serious argument, and we both know it. The number of McCain supporters on Fox simply outnumber the Obama supporters by a massive margin.

It's amusing you're even trying to argue against that now that Fox News has gone and hired another partisan Republican to host a show on Fox. See the difference? Fox hires a tepid Democrat who attacked Obama during the primary and supported Republican efforts to "save" Terri Schiavo simply as a contributor.

They give Laura Ingraham her own show, and she kicks its off by stacking her guest list full of Republicans.

Sorry Johnny, I'll get back on this topic later, I have to go and watch a "fair and balanced" debate between Charles Krauthammer and Fred Barnes, two partisan conservative Republicans, and Mara Liasson, a woman Fox claims is a liberal but has publicly admitted she was a registered Republican prior to joining Fox News.

Two Republicans versus One Democrat, modereated by a conservative host.

Now that's fair and balanced! I don't want to miss this!

She could stack it with nothing but Republicans for the next three years and she still wouldn't catch up with Olbermann's echo chamber.

> you can only name two Democrats who support Obama

I can name more, and so could you if you chose to. But I don't choose to play your game, no matter what name you decide to pup up with this time.

"She could stack it with nothing but Republicans for the next three years and she still wouldn't catch up with Olbermann's echo chamber."

You basically admitted right there that Ingraham is stacking her guest list. Same old tired meme.

"Fox may be biased, but as long as they're not AS biased as Keith is, it's ok!".

I don't watch Olbermann, so I don't really care what you have to say about him. Your website is supposedly dedicated to "debunking liberal lies" about Fox News. For the truth about the great Fox News channel!

Yet, when confronted with the transparent fact that Fox News' new hire has already begun STACKING her guest list with Republicans, you simply fold and start complaining about Olbermann.

Not very impressive.

I'm projecting at least 50 more comments, primarily from topic drift and ideological corner-taking, for this comment thread.

Whether or not Fox News is in the tank for conservatives and Republicans is to be determined on the conduct of the FOX NEWS CHANNEL.

Not Keith Olbermann. MSNBC could blacklist Republicans from their entire network and make Obama the president of their network, but it still wouldn't affect whether or not Fox News is in the tank for McCain.

Either Fox is lying through it's teeth or it's telling the truth about it's supposed neutrality. Keith Olbermann's behavior has no bearing on the Fox News Channel's bias or neutrality.

Well all this talk about guests and panel make-up and such is not on topic for this discussion.

Of course you could discuss the panel make-up in the posted video. That would be on topic. You know the one with two Democrats (three if you count the Newsweek scribe) and one Republican. Otherwise you are veering dangerously off topic.

As I said, myths about Fox bias are not on topic here. This is about Lanny Davis and his first appearance as an FNC analyst. So let's not get sucked in.

I love it when a poster claims they don't watch olbermahn then 2 minutes later they defend him or claim they know what he thinks, feels and does for what reason.

Not much to say about the video, other than the laughable fact that you would even suggest the newsweek pundit is a lib or a Dem.

Lanny Davis is still the same Lanny who Rush described as B J Clinton's spear catcher. He defended Barack to the best of his ability, which is exactly what I expected from him.
I do think that Lanny is a Clintonista but to be a Clintonista you also have to be a Dem so I find your outrage hyperbolic tripe. BTW, Eric, why do you sound so angry? This is just a conversation about cable news. One would would think that you had a personal grudge against Johnny.

Would you have been happier, Eric, if Fox had hired Bill Ayers or Rezko (assuming he stays out of jail) as a commentator? They are both devoted friends and big time supporters of Barack.

If Barack has no problems hiring a long time supporter and associate of Hillary as Chief of Staff for the VP nominee exactly what is wrong with Fox hiring a long time associate and supporter of Hillary. Barack's people are going to generally still be very active b/c their guy beat out Hillary. It is the former Hillary folks who are going to be available.

"BTW, Eric, why do you sound so angry?" LoL, I was unaware you could judge the sound of my voice from text on a thread.

It seems the real foaming-at-the-mouth anger on this website is from angry Republican posters who want to interject Keith Olbermann into debates about Fox.

Some might consider your answer as a symptom of "smart assery" to cover for the lack of any reasonable response.

However, I am willing to play. Exactly how can you see "the real foaming-at-the-mouth anger from angry Republican posters"?

Looking at vote totals in the primaries, you would be forced to say that til now the Democratic Party has been a house divided; half supporting Obama and the other half supporting Hillary.

Now that Obama has won the nomination, some followers of Hillary have threatened not to support him in the general election. Davis is not one of those people; he has made it clear that he will be supporting Obama in the general election.

Davis has always been an ardent Democrat and an effective apologist for the Democratic Party. To argue, as Eric has done, that he is not really a true Democrat because he did not belong to the half of the Democratic party who initially supported Obama . . . is patently ridiculous
