'I'm Not Jeremy Glick, Billy'

J$P Video! Mr Bill O'Reilly in a calm, gentlemanly discussion with Phil Donahue.

From The O'Reilly Factor, September 21 2005:

A few highlights from an exchange between Phil Donahue and Bill O'Reilly about Cindy Sheehan and the Iraq War. This segment was not seen during the primetime broadcast because it was preempted by breaking news. [QuickTime video clip; allow file time to load]:

Foxnews.com has posted video of the entire interview.

Seeing this event live made me cringe. I study the Middle East and am training to be a diplomat. I can see that I still may have a way to go because I felt like leaping into my television set and strangling Phil in a different timezone.
People who do not understand political Islam scare me more than those who practice it.
Bill's only fault is that he never asked what Phil's plan would be. In the end, Bill handled such stupidity better than I would have. I've much to learn.

Phil's plan is to appease Islamic radicalism by getting to the root cause.
Oh wait a minute, the existence of western civilization is the root cause.
Oh well, in Phil's world we can still all join hands and sing "it's a small world".

bill o'reilly is a loud mouthed bully who never lets the facts get in the way. This administration has no feelings for its own citizens, and wouldn't care if the whole country wound up like Mexico, with a few men holding all the money and power, and the rest of us without running water. They don't give a damn about us, and we saw it for ourselves two weeks ago. That's who they really are, selfish, greedy; they'll smear anyone, and they have gotten away with it for years by screaming that anyone who disagrees with them is unpatriotic. I beg to differ. Those who disagree with them are intelligent, and haven't been taken in by their utter and callous disregard for human life. I think they are no better than murderers, and Bill o'Reilly is their enabler.

How do the Donahues and Moores get away with asking "would you send your child to fight this war?" I'm not the first to say this, but the armed forces are made up of adults who enlisted on their own.
As to MK's allusion to an uncaring administration: which administration always found other local projects more important than the levee projects funded by the Feds, and diverted those funds? Which administration is under investigation for $60,000,000 missing from public works coffers? Which administration delayed evacuation for days after the Feds recommended it? Which administration insisted on re-populating New Orleans against the Feds advice?
It seems New Orleans is closer to Mexico than Washington is, and not just geographically.

oreillys long lasting stretch on tv could only be on fox, a propaganda station devoted to the neocon mentality in our country.his outrageous behavior toward the guests he disagrees with is disgraceful. i hope even the right wing nuts get tired of his neurotic behavior & fox throws him off the air.

I actually did stop watching Oreilly a while back, mostly because he just seemed to be getting more and more arrogant to me.
That being said, I still trust his assessment of a lot of the issues before I'll trust, oh, say Al Franken.

Scott you are on the mark (in my opinion). I also believe the "left-wing thinkers," including Phil D., are the true "Machiavellians" and have no tolerance for opinions that disagree with their ridiculous positions. When it comes down to a debate of "ideas"... they resort to demagogy (see... sending "kids" to war).
I can't stomach Rush or O'Reilly for very long, simply due to their personalities (e.g. obnoxious, arrogant etc.), not their ability to analyze and comment on issues.
We (the general public and major media) should stop giving so much airtime to political "hacks" and brainless partisans, which I don't believe Bill O'Reilly is one... (but Rush is mostly a hack - but at least he attempts to be accurate).

People like Donahue are so out of touch with reality it is frightening.
They do not understand we are in a war for the survival of western civilization and must win it.
Never do they ever volunteer an approach to handling this war.
They are dangerous idiots.
