Yeah I disagree with him, and I always think he's wacky. But you know with Geraldo you'll always get the real deal. You might disagree with it. But you know he ain't no phony.

It's Geraldo

I watched about 1 1/2 hours of Fox News coverage Monday night (it was playing at a pool hall I was at) and tonight I probably watched about as much again.

As a Virginia Tech alumni, perhaps I'm more sensitive to the coverage than most but...

I have to say, while the Fox coverage Monday featuring mostly Brit Hume at the time wasn't awful, it was a sorry also-ran compared to NPR's "All Things Considered." I learned more in about 20 minutes listening to NPR in my car on the way.

Tonight I caught Shep and Geraldo. And, again, while the coverage wasn't awful, Fox News can't resist the tabloid sizzle over the journalistic steak. The overly sensational adjectives and breathless TV coverage ads got tiresome quickly.

I threw together some of my inadequate thoughts on the subject. http://sknabt.eyesonfox.org/?p=63

Sorry if they don't sizzle as much as Geraldo's. Or maybe not...

sknabt: If the choice is between the occasional hyperbole by Geraldo versus the CNN & MSNBC coverage sprinkled with subtle gun control advocacy plus mocking the President as the "mourner-in-chief, Fox News Channel wins every time!
