From The Radio Factor, June 12 2007: O'Reilly and E.D. Hill chew over the PEJ report. Mr Bill thinks it's off-base, but Col David Hunt says they have a point [mp3 audio]: ![]() posted: Tue - June 12, 2007 at 01:18 PM j$p  send Jonathan Holmes, PsD The ignorance that flows from this man's mouth is just astonishing. No debate, just self-rightous outrage and snarky commentary based on no more than two sentences spoken over a two hour radio show. Forget about context, this is a Bill-O "Gotcha!" moment!!! The point is that Fox's competitors are only interested in belittling the administration, the war, and the troops by broadcasting as much negative coverage as possible. Hardly amazing finding, anti-war channels show more negative coverage than the only fair and balanced channel. Some "news". Comment: Wrong. It's because there's always a car bombing or an attack happening in Iraq. What else do you expect them to cover, more gossip coverage of Paris Hilton's stay in jail? Also, can we please drop this myth that the media is undermining the war, the troops and the president? I'm pretty sure that the average soldier in Iraq is worried about not getting blown up in an IED attack rather than what Brian Williams is reporting on the latest casualties and horrifying statistics on the Iraqi War. All he cares about is that "the people know what kind of sacrifices our troops are making." He puts that notion above all else, and cares not of its propaganda value. that being said, of course all news is newsworthy, and I do not believe O'reilly is saying this shouldn't be reported. Bill is simply stating the obvious (to me) that msnbc JUST LOVES to make BUSH look bad any way they can. Blame Bush for all of Katrina, and blame Bush for every terorist act in Iraq. msnbc f'n loves it. My opinion of dan arahms on scarborough, and joe on morninbg joe is that these sons of bitches aught to be decked. oh and a big [@#$%] to Col Jack Jacobs as well. I don't brownnose these Col's and generals for merely being so much. My grandfather was a Col. and he would know like I know that these highly decorated blowhards are simply there to legitimize thgeir respective news organizations, and NOT be challenged... after all they're medal of honor winners, blah blah. And the swiftboat vets can't call kerry a shmuck of a soldier either can they? ]@#$%] MAINSTREAM MEDIA. dumbass loser sheep like Scarborough lap it up. what a [@#$%] banjo boy. Jonathon, if the media covered WWII the same as they cover Iraq today, we would have "lost" WWII. How can you not recognize that the MSM portrays the administration and the war in an unbalanced, overwhelmingly negative light? To comment on such issues, you should indulge in the content matter once in a while. Just last night O'Reilly had a democrat on who worked for NBC. He challenged her to name one conservative, ONE that worked for them. She couldn't. It's not unsurprising, the MSM HR reps likely put a checkbox for democrat on every application and start their selection process there. Also, can you quit tying this bulls%$t and unnecessary war to WWII? Unlike Iraq, there was a competent Commander-in-Chief in charge that didn't keep screwing things up. The media isn't the problem. That would be solely placed on President Dumba@# and his arrogance to see that this war is lost. June 13, 2007, 9:40:53 PM EDT – Like – Reply Fox Fan Way to dodge the question with a divergent rant about Bush. Don't make it too obvious which side you think is the 'winner'. June 13, 2007, 10:05:07 PM EDT – Like – Reply ImNotBlue John... you gotta read your history books better, buddy. With the carnage of D-Day, there is no way the media would be on the side of the USA. First there would be discussions about how fit the president was to authorize such a dangerous attack. Then debates on whether it was even worth it. Then pictures of dead soldiers, their families weeping, and the funerals as the bodies came home. And finally, the question over why we even bothered in the first place... sure we were attacked, but only by the Japanese... and didn't we kind of deserve it? Todays media roots for war, because war reporting makes careers... the same way government scandal makes careers. And once the media has done all they can do championing war, they can go back to hating it, finding fault with it, and making up scandal where there is none... all in the name of ratings, career points, and money. So yes, if todays media was around back then, WWII would have been much different. My soldier grandparents would be dead my parents never born and my religion relegated to the historical groups wing of the museum. June 13, 2007, 11:46:09 PM EDT – Like – Reply |
