Debbie Plays Doctor...Quote Doctor
She's baaaaack. It's Deborah of the newshounds (another fine product of the Outfoxed cabal). And she's playing her favorite game: Doctor. Quote Doctor.
How many ways are there to doctor a quote? Let's take Deb's "reports" on one program and see how badly the words can be twisted:
Megyn Kelly Needs To Keep The Drama Going on America's Election HQDebbie gives us a litany of outrages from Megyn (aka the racist slut per the hounds): Major Garrett, Adam Smith, and then this one:
Next try was with Jehmu Greene asking if Hillary Clinton as VP would "upstage" Barack Obama. This didn't work out either since Greene insisted both appealed to different voters making it a good combination. She finally got a little action from Kirsten Powers...
Where to start? OK, first of all Deborah's outrage over "upstage" is dishonest and phony. Why did Debbie quote all of one word? Because it was Ed Rendell (D) who made the statement about Hillary upstaging Obama:RENDELL: Rule one for the Vice-President is never upstage the President, right? Hillary Clinton in some ways could not help but upstage even if she was trying not to.That's what Ms Greene was asked to respond to. Why do you suppose Deb doesn't mention that? The kennel, of course, was happy to weigh in on Ms Kelly:
- Kelly is just another right wing sneer machine on a network filled with right wing sneer machines.
- Megyn Kelly segments are like a televised version of the NY Post
But Deborah was just getting warmed up, and today surpassed herself. First the Debster writes:
Hume, the wise elder on FOX HQ, told Hemmer that " broadly speaking" America is ready for an African - American president noting that Obama has a lot of the qualities the country wants....Now D has really boiled this down to its bare bones, and you don't have to guess the parts she didn't include:
HUME: Obama has about him a lot of the qualities I think Americans would like to see in a President, and especially in an African-American President. A man who seems to have succeeded in much the way that people in the rest of the country of all races have succeeded. He came up, worked his way along, he went to good schools, he went out and started a career and made his way. He comes across as an utterly reasonable and highly appearling and engaging man, a man of many talents and many charms. Most people I think admire that. After skipping all that, Debbie continues:
...qualities the country wants, adding that there is a big problem. Because of his associations, Hume continued...Well no, Brit didn't say there is a "big" problem:
HUME: There is however one potential problem, and that is, and in his associations...So, a potential problem turns into a big problem when run through Deb's quote-mangling machine.
But we've saved the best for last. The ultimate goal of a quote doctorer: to completely reverse the meaning of what someone said. A perfect, 180-degree lie. And thanks to Deborah, we have a winner:
His next comment was a distortion bordering on a bold [sic] faced lie. Hume claimed that Obama said he disassociated himself from the Trinity Church "which he has not done."So according to Deb, Hume called Obama a liar, and insisted Obama never left his church? As you might expect, the truth is exactly the opposite. Note how Dr Deb falsified the only five words she put in quotes:
HUME: It took him a long time, even this year, to disassociate himself from, which he has now done, all the while saying that he's not denouncing that Church."Yes we have here a distortion "bordering on a bold [sic] face lie". Only it wasn't Brit Hume. It was another counterfeit quote from Deborah. When will her lies end? liars fox news

Doctoring quotes is wrong...I haven't double checked you assertions yet...But is Fox News not also guilty of using doctored quotes...Just being "fair & balanced"

Interesting but irrelevant. It appears your quote was "doctored" not by Fox but by the agency that published the original story that Fox reported. That in no way absolves Deborah for what must be something like the 89th instance of her misquoting, falsifying, and doctoring quotes just to smear Fox.

"using doctored quotes"
That's why I said "using" and not "doctoring quotes themselves"....Fox are responsible for what they air and need to fact check it....I could give examples of previous sloppiness....But that's off topic.

Yes everyone can give examples of every news channel being sloppy and making mistakes. Thank you for realizing that is off topic for a post about Deborah falsifying quotes.

"Fox are responsible"...
That sounds veddy British. Do I get from that you a European resident? Just curious, you don't have to answer if you don't wish to.

J$...You've just done the very thing your railing against...Doctoring my statement...I'd never say "Fox are responsible"
You would be right...I'm based in good old Blighty.

This is classic NH, the only site that can take smear machine articles (such as mediamatters and thinkprogress) and dope the messages to an even greater degree of dishonesty using omissions, hyperbole, and BALD faced lies.

Wow. That is seriously messed up.
And yeah, the misquoting of FOX News (Hannity is probably the worse of the worse) is off-topic.
I hate Brit Hume, but damn, that's some underhanded tripe.

J$: You have a typo:
"he's playing her favorite game: Doctor."
"he's" should be "she's" i think

Johnny,
Heads up. Please don't respond to one of our resident trolls.
Oh I am sorry. My face is red. I was confused. For a minute I thought I was the moderator and that this was the NH site.
I am so embarrassed. Sorry.

Though not a huge fan, on this, Savage is right: liberalism is a mental disorder. Liberals like the woof woof crew prove it time and time again.

Well, you have a soulmate here (and at OW, and a troll at NH and elsewhere)who also worships and adores the old White man's version of Jeremiah Wright, although what that has to do with cable news, I can't imagine. Was Wiener on FNC today, or something? Frankly, I get more mental stimulation for a box of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, but, chacun à son goût.

Elllen may be ideologically narrow; vindictive; mean spirited . . . but at least she has some semblance of intelligence.
Deborah IMHO is incredibly stupid. She says things that don't even look as if they make sense. You have chronicled her incoherence and general stupidity rather nicely Johnny,
The kennel does not seem to admire her very much. Yesterday, I notice there were only 24 comments. Today I notice that the number of comments to the article your reference is 28.
Counting all of the sock puppest used at NH and their trained pups, 24 or 28 comments is nothing. Someone could write an article at NH in pure gibberish and people and they could get at least 24 comments, and no one say anything about the gibberish.
One time, Ellen posted the wrong video with her article. Without the right video, much of the article did not make sense. I kid you not, at least fifty posts went up before anyone said anything about the video.
That's why Deborah can get away with her incoherence and her obvious stupidity.

See how we're tagged as "trolls" at the dog pound? Thankfully, that doesn't happen here or at OW. At least not w/out justification. If you want proof, just pick any thread.

You're absolutely right, Danny. My guess is I am more philosophically aligned with some of the NH folks, and All the Marys In Heaven know I am no fan of FNC, but NH is a trash site. Inane. Largely useless. Yet, many posters. Of course, there are many such sites. I do not consider this one at all, although the Whole Holy Family knows we have our own crop of peanuts with the cashews.
