Fire Matthews?

Nah....more elitist snobbery from the bottom of the ratings barrel only shows how desperate MSNBC has become.

Positive coverage of Obama is not enough for MSNBC to gain on FNC, so they throw out some red meat for the haters' consumption. Yep, that's "smart."

On another matter.....the analogy of the week.....President Obama legitimising the influence of Rush analgous to President Bush legitimising the influence of Keith Olbermann?.....Our new President just poked the bee hive and showed some poor judgement.

The extreme demogogues like Rush and Olbermann are better ignored and advancing the debate on IDEAS is the place for our Presidents to be.....Rush is going to have a field-day with Obama's poke.

Jon Stewart comes up trumps yet again...He shows the hypocrisy of Fox news brilliantly.

O'Reilly said in March of 2007:

"But this hate stuff, this rooting for the administration to fail in Iraq and other areas is un-American, unbecoming, and unacceptable. Like him or not, Mr. Bush is the elected leader of this country..."

"So I shamelessly say, no, I want him to fail," Limbaugh told Hannity.

So what will Bill have to say about Limbaugh wanting Obama to fail? He has no choice but to call Limbaugh un-American after his statement in 2007.

Stewart asked, "Does Bill O'Reilly think Rush Limbaugh hates America?"

The above is a link that I found on Hot Air to the transcript of Limbaugh's statement.

Limbaugh was saying that he wants Obama's Great Society economic policies to fail. That he does not want to see govt interference and outright govt. ownership/stewartship of private business to succeed.

Conversely, I doubt that liberals would say that they wished laisse fare capitalism policies to succeed.

I think both positions different from suggesting that you hope soldiers in the field fail, despite your feelings of whether they should have been sent on that particular mission in the first place.

Of course such statements from Limbaugh about Obama's "New Deal" policy or statements from the left on perhaps what was (example) .... the Contract with America... often contain characterizations used to describe those positions that are arguable/debatable.

And the statements of outrage from the O'Reillys against Bush critics and the Stewarts against Limbaugh are often intentionally blind and hyperbolic to and of what was really being stated by these critics too.

It's always best to keep SOME perspective, folks...

I can get the site OK....Admittedly not through my electric satellite dish.
Hot air is just a right wing propaganda site...so I can't take it seriously....Just like I'm told when I use a left wing site.

I just hope Bill holds to the same standards he had for Bush....now Obama is President...I suppose that's as lightly as it never raining in Scotland again.

Haggis the link from Hot Air is a link to a TRANSCRIPT (from Limbaugh's site) of what Limbaugh ACTUALLY said.

Just a suggestion-- but it might do you (and Jon Stewart) well to know what you're talking about before you go off.

And in your case, before you go off condemning the WHOLE of FNC over silly crap.

Oh please... You don't "hope" that at all. You didn't even bother to look up what Limbaugh actually said, as compared to what O'Reilly stated.

You jumped right on it and even did a flying leap of logic to then impugn the whole of FNC over a remark from RUSH LIMBAUGH...

LOL....Thanks for letting me know what I think....Remind me in the future to contact you before I come to any conclusions.
I did look at the transcript....It's total fear mongering...Something Hannity/Limbaugh specialise in on a daily basis. Limbaugh said he wanted Obama to fail if he didn't do things his (Limbaugh's) way. Lets hope Bill keeps to his Bush standards and calls Limbaugh on his anti-American talk...Bill you simply can't have it both ways.
If I had know that link was going to take me to Limbaugh site...I'd have activated the auto cleaning function on my browser 1st.

This has nothing to do with cable news...But did anyone here know that the American National Anthem is sung to the tune of an old British drinking song....The Anacreontic Song....the official song of the Anacreontic Society, an 18th-century club of amateur musicians in London.
you learn something every day.

Thinking on it, I can picture a pub filled with drunken Elglishmen singing The Star Spangled Banner with different words. Confirmed true!

Did you know that Haggis is not in fact Scottish but was first created by the American Andrio Diaz from Scotsdale, AZ?

Actually the Ancient Romans were the first people known to have made products of the haggis type...So there you go.

It's not the words to the Star Spangled Banner that I was referring to...They were written in 1814 by Francis Scott Key...But the tune itself that accompanies them.

Andrio Diaz invented haggis, before the ancient Romans. He lived in ancient North America.

I understand that it is the tune of the anthem and not the words, that's why I mentioned "different words". What you said about the tune is true.

"HaggisPlanet" sounds like an enormous carbon footprint is in the making. Perhaps it will help warm places like Iceland, who's government just went belly up. Or just maybe, it might get a 60 minute weekly gig on MSNBC, after all they are looking for a new 10pm show! HF, have your people contact KO's people and do lunch next week.

Julie mentions the technical difficulties at 7:59. I'm just getting to Huckabee, and in her sign off she mentioned how many less technical dificulties they had back in JFK's day than she did that night.
