OH MY GOD!!!!!! The Hideous Hateful Hens of Houndland are comparing Olbermann to Edward R. Murrow!!!!!
That's one of the reasons he hates Keith - because Keith has often been compared to Edward R. Murrow (and the comparisons really began when he did his Special Comment about Rumsfeld comparing critics of the Bush Administration to, "Nazi sympathizers").

This pretty much lets us know the intelligent level of these ignoramuses is pretty low.
Olbermann couldn't carry Murrow's jockstrap. He couldn't even carry Katie Couric's jockstrap.

Any such message is false. It is not corrupted or infected or anything else. It sits on the same server as the rest of this blog. I'd say go ahead and download it, or you can set your browser to play the file without downloading the file (the settings about how to handle mp3 files). If all that's more trouble than it's worth, just go directly to the audio file and see if that works for you:

Olbermann is blathering over at kos today and let's everyone know what he thinks of FNC viewers:
"Their viewers think they are getting cogent, behind-the-scenes, reasoned analysis. It's a kind of mutual delusion but that doesn't make it any less true to them."

On last nights Factor.....O'reilly And Garrett totally twisted what president Obama said to CNBC's John Harwood about Fox
Garrett stated he{Obama} said: "a network(Fox) that wasn't adequately favourable to him"
Obama actually stated that the network was "entirely devoted to attacking [his] administration"
More spin in the supposed "no spin zone"
The actual quote has nothing to do with being "adequately favourable" to him....Just another strawman from Fox.

Thanks for the Media Matters parroting. I guess Garrett should be crucified for softening what Obama said so he wouldn't look as partisan and thin-skinned to the Fox viewers. In fact, Garrett should have every line spoken by Obama committed to photographic memory, so that if he's ever asked in an unscripted interview he won't have to rely on a more diplomatic paraphrase. You're right, Haggie. Obama's lie about Fox News should be told verbatim.

I think Cablevision may not be that far from finally adding FBN to its lineup. Premium movie channels were moved into the 800s opening up space where they once were in the 700s. And that's just in HD. I can see FBN SD being put on channel 106, one up from Bloomberg TV, and FBN HD on channel 760, one down from FNC HD.
I hope I'm right in my thinking.

Excellent ratings for FNC.
Beck, Baier, Smith, BOR, Hannity, and Greta EACH had more viewers than CNN, MSNBC, and HLN combined.
All of them had more viewers in "the demo" than CNN and MSNBC combined. Of those, Beck, BOR, and Hannity had more than CNN, MSNBC, AND HLN combined.
Great work all.

"using the "it would be an interesting topic for Cable News" ploy....does not work."
Good try, Ashley. I'm glad you take your unsuccessful comment attempt like a man and with good humor. Someone else here has tried to post comment after comment about how his 'free speech' rights are being violated because I won't let him bring up a political point on a cable news thread and divert it into a political ping-pong argument. Those numbers, assuming they exist, are conveniently not made public. This may well be because when you strip a total survey down into smaller and smaller subgroups, the margin of error gets bigger and bigger (because your sample is getting smaller and smaller). The number of viewers of cable news in the 18-34 is probably way smaller than even the 25-54 subset. It could be that Nielsen doesn't consider that measurement accurate enough for public release. Of course MSNBC could release the figures if they wanted, but they haven't done so--even though it is more than likely that MSNBC is or was one of the sources that leaks the daily ratings to various blogs and websites.

"a 18-34 breakdown is invaluable to an ad agency...."
Maybe yes, maybe no... 18-34 is not the standard "demo," it's a demo-subset. The usefulness of the demo itself is debatable... and this smaller group, even more so. (See below)
"Not so laughable when you analyse [sic] the facts."
BUZZ... Wrong-o, Haggy ol' Bean. The theory behind the demo says that people within the age groups of 18-54 have more disposable income and are more likely to spend it, AND (and this is the big one) they are LESS BRAND LOYAL and can be 'convinced' to try something new, more than an older person who may already have a favorite, or most trusted, or most valued brand. The faulty logic in this should be pretty obvious... while someone aged 18-54 may be less brand loyal for SOME things, the older groups may be more available to make other purchases that the younger group simply cannot. For example, the new Mercedes may not interest the 23 year old crowd, but the 60-year-old executive may be very interested. So each group has its own value, despite loyalty to one brand or another.
With that in mind, what is the difference between the 18-34 and the 34-54 that they need to be split up? Well, the 18-34 may have even LESS money to spend, and thusly will be more interested in minor consumable purchases such as beverages, foods, beer, etc. than perhaps a new car or luxury cruise. The 34-54 group, however, probably consists of more families, growing into empty nesters... a group that has more money saved, and may be interested in more expensive purchases. So when you think about the different groups... who would you rather talk to, the folks with limited resources, or the folks with developing savings accounts?
MSNBC may (or may not) lead with the 18-34 group, but so what? Yeah, maybe their interests and loyalties are different... but I'd much rather have a platform to sell a BMW, than a surfboard, any day.
