The judge ir right.

The current leadership of The United States seems to have forgotten about The Constitution. President Obama and the democrat party is making holding a different opinion regarding their policy initiatives seem "actionable" on their part as the "authorities."

The heat in our country is rising....Obama is responsible for it as the leader.

RE: Fox News and MSNBC battle.

If I recall correctly, not one time in this battle of the cable stars(Olbermann vs O'Reilly) have I seen O'Reilly personally attack Olbermann.

So I would consider Olbermann the big crybaby in this little tiff.

Cable Gamer - "analysis":
--not to mention unlucky co-eds, who found themselves in an elective class they couldn't understand!--

Aside from the grammatical mistakes, this sexist phrase makes me ignore this piece.

I was kinda bored at this whole O'Reilly/Olbermann "truce" (or non-truce) thing, because the one-sided feud has been going on for so long, I think we're all used to it. But now that he's going after Lou Dobbs and his family, this has GOT to stop!

How DOES GE allow KO to remain on the airwaves (or cable, whatever)? No time in history, that I know of, has a commentator gone after people personally to the extent that Keith has done with O'Reilly, and now Dobbs.

But the amazing thing is that Keith's ratings are relatively paltry, and on a lowly rated network, to boot (whatever that means). This is CRAZY!

I could see if Rush mouthed off like that - he is such a megastar with such a mega-audience, his loss would be devastating, and would shut down venues that we can't imagine. But Keith??? Other than a very few on the extreme far left, I doubt that he has much of a fan base at all. How could he - he doesn't have much of an audience!

But that aside, it is just against common decency to attack people personally as he does. I'm sure we would ALL love to lash out at others, and demean them at times, just to make ourselves feel better. But it's wrong, and goes against societal norms.

But not at MSNBC!

Interesting moment in today's crash coverage when aviation expert Bob Tur showed up on FNC to analyze what was going on. He even mentioned that his daughter (Katy) lives in NY.

Wonder why not Msnbc as Katy's main squeeze is an insignificant on air talent for that network.

I think the Cable Gamer has it EXACTLY right concerning the dynamics behind the "truce".

It was important to both GE and News Corp that the truce happen, but not in the same way or to the same extent.

It's important to News Corp, because a feud brings them attention they don't need. A liberal media darling Don Quixote tilting at the windmill of Bill O'Reilly and causing the chattering classes to issue declarations of "yay, Keith!

Those endless fawning articles of "yay, Keith", got to them.

Especially since our liberal media darling can literary say ANYTHING and do ANYTHING and not ruffle a feather among the Tom Shales' and Howard Kurtz' of the country, as long as it's at an approved cultural pariah.

O'Reilly fits THAT bill like no one else.

Keith Olbermann has a nose like a bloodhound for people with the mildest scent of this sort of taint and it brings out all his predatory hateful instincts. A socially acceptable kill...mmmmmmm....savor the snark and the blood...

Bill O'Reilly, with a bravado, a decidedly not nuanced approach to issues, and ratings among the plebes that make the elite snobs sniff, is a walking porterhouse steak to Keith Olberman.

With G.E. the stakes are much higher and far more complex. They ran the risk of O'Reilly making it hard for these same liberal "media watchdogs" to ignore that at the very very VERY least, there is the appearance that the company is lobbying the WH via their very own news division. At most, that G.E. was engaging in mercenary business practices by profitting from deals with Iran, even as that country targeted U.S. soldiers in Iraq.

The dynamics for G.E's desire for a truce are far more relevant to the media industry and certainly more relevant to liberal sensibilities.

That why it galls me to see some circles try to keep this matter at the level of a personal feud between k.O. and BOR.

It's galling to see Howard Kurtz merely state starkly, that some are aware of a possibility of corporate machinations into MSNBC News, and then leave it at that. He offers up no further analysis on this dynamic.

The same holds true for the idiots at Huffington Post.

To its credit Salon Magazine seems to be willing to go out on a limb by looking at the obvious, even if its not so flattering to their beloved Don Quixote.

Yay, Salon!...

His audience is the far-left, Missy. They love him. A few of my friends (that I won't name) are among that group and think he's a champion of the progressive moment. Good for him, they think, for speaking out against the eeevil conservatives, Republicans, Fox, O'Reilly, Beck, Hannity, etc. Throw in some ideological rhetoric (Billo, Mannity, Harold Hill, Faux, Fixed, etc.) and that's how they think and talk. Sad, but true.

I was referring to the far-left as a whole...except for those that work for FNC or have been attacked/thrown under the bus by Keith. They have no use for him.

Plane & Copter crash in the Hudson. and MSNBC can't even be bothered to stick a camera out the window of 30 Rock.

Where is the great Olby? Wasn't he the one who ran (I find that hard) down to WTC on 9-11 with tape recorder in hand?
Oh wait! That's when he didn't have a job, and he had to work for his supper.

Just checked the nbcnewyork.com website. Two things, First it seems NBC4 had at least four people on the story, why couldn't MSNBC just break in to nbc4 coverage?

Second: If this is a joke, I don't see the humor.
If you go to the top of the page of

http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local-beat/Helicopter-Goes-Down-in-Hudson-River-52790622.html

you will see the " NBC logo with New York is sad about Billy Mays using Cocaine."

WTF is up with that? Is that supposed to be funny? Who runs that building on the weekends? Rejects from AAR?

The Dobbs Audio - If what he is saying is accurate, that is certainly good for CNN. CNN is commmitted to "whatever is happening out there is chronicled".

Funny, the audio file openined in my iTunes. When the file ended and Dobbs voiced stopped, the next file in alpha order by artist instantly started playing. Lou Rawl's "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine. For a short moment, it seemed like part of the Dobbs audio.

What I found interesting is that Dobbs, by saying he wants to 'move' CNN to the center, is stating that it ain't there now. I'm mildly surprised that he would say that.

Puck, great catch about what appears to be a twitter caption on the title.

You can use the same link but change the city name to a major US city and you may get that local counterpart.

The NBC Los Angeles version shows the same Billy Mays. NBC Chicago says something about thug beatdowns in a park. NBC Miami is furious about a Hollywood Cop. NBC San Diego is laughing about free pot brownies. NBC Edin"Borough" is hoping Haggis will someday discover the pleasures of being truthful.

It wasn't supposed to be funny, Puck. It means they have a link to a story. There are other "is..." lines used: for example, "Is furious about the governor's party pals," "Is furious about the City Council's staff raises," etc. You click on the "is," you're linked to the story. That's all. All NBC O&O station websites are set up like that now.
According to this, other owned and operated ("O&O") stations are in L.A., Chicago, Philadelphia, San Jose-San Francisco, Dallas-Fort Worth, Washington D.C., Miami, San Diego, and Hartford. The Hartford station's site had "Is furious about Dodd cleared of ethics complaint" when I went to it. Chicago: "Is furious about Mayor Daley's nepotism". And so on.
I hope I cleared things up. Not everything about NBC is bad. MSNBC is a different story.

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Put 100 of these people in a room. Strap them into gurneys. Inject them with sodium pentathol. How many of them would say “I don’t like the idea of having a black president”? What percentage?

CYNTHIA TUCKER: Oh, I’m just guessing. This is just off the cuff. I think 45 to 65% of the people who appear at these groups are people who will never be comfortable with the idea of a black president.

I notice the weekend friends had Dr. Marc Siegel on again to dish up his talking points....The same talking points he dished up for the weekday Friends. Of course there was absolutely NO opposing viewpoint....The Friends simply let him spew away without a single challenge to anything he said.
