"One last thought: I wonder when the Fox News channel gets its special access on a high-visibility trip like this."

I'm running the risk of being unfair here, because I'm not sure I under the meaning of the MSNBC HD flap.
However, it seems to be that Spud from ICN INVARIABLY has 20/20 hindsight in just about everything. Didn't he just argue that the cable channel's deal with Direct was NOT exclusive?
Now he's saying that he was aware of the deal and was posting about it many months back??

I believe Spud was refering to the Cablevision/MSNBC deal that kept MSNBC off of the competing cable operators in New York.
The Dish Network HD "exclusive" is a different issue. No cable operator has "nationwide" service. Only satellite operators can make that claim, so Dish issued a deceptive - if true - press release.
It's like calling Clinton's retroactive tax increase a "Bush tax increase" because it took effect when during GHWB's presidency.

White house punishing FoxNews into ratings stratosphere. I hope they keep it up because punishment like this is something Fox can tolerate & bask in for the next 3 1/2 years!

Whenever I've seen Jane Velez-Mitchell as a cable guest, I've wondered why she always wears a coonskin cap.

Cecelia,
It is a mullet. Sadly, but true. I think JVM is probably a very nice person, but she is a horrible tv personality. I tried to watch her once and felt like I needed a sedative after. I cannot believe ABC is trying to say O didn't scope that girl's rear! Of course he did! Sure, it was just a glance, not like Sarkozy leering, but still. How come no one is showing the pic from the day before when they were both doing the same thing again, to yet another lady? I saw it on Hot Air and Ace of Spades, and there is no denying that one AT ALL. Does anyone have a link to it?

Our little ditzy Julie from News Hounds is at it again. I have a feeling she is some high school kid recruited by Ellen because they can't find anyone smarter than a fifth grader.
Julie writes a post like Sara Palin speaks.
She brings up the coverage of Ronald Reagan's funeral and Frank Sinatra's association with some questionable people and tries to compare them to the Michael Jackson coverage.
First of all, Ronald Reagan was president of the United States and most presidents in my lifetime received pretty decent press coverage at the time of their death.
Yes, Frank Sinatra had some shady associates but he didn't sleep with them or go around popping huge amounts of pills just to get some rest.
Michael Jackson was a fine singer and entertainer but he lived a very strange life and mentioning him in the same breath as Sinatra and Reagan is pure idiocy.
By the way, I don't believe that any entertainer should receive the kind of coverage that Jackson received.

DB, the picture you reference is still at Hot Air.
It's funny. I've recently been in the company of two young men and one in-his-prime dude (my husband), who were talking about the picture (my husband hadn't seen it) and they pooh-poohed me saying that Pres Obama was not checking out that girl (who looks far older than she is).
It's was -- 'nah..nah... that's what he was doing'...to everything I said.
They WANT to believe that he was doing just that. They find it funny, and seem to really like him for it!
Men understand men. David Shuster excluded.
