hanks for the "truce" link, Johnny.
We got the essence of Greenwald's comment without having to read the long winded bore, IMO.
I also think he nailed it factually.
What is your bottom line take on this?

I'm biased when it comes to the subject of Olby that my take isn't going to be taken seriously anyhow.

I asked b/c I think that your knowledge of KO makes your opinion important.
Your bias is based on knowledge and therefore your opinion would be knowlegible, not prejudiced.

"Once the NYT exposed this deal between GE and News Corp., MSNBC executives allowed Olbermann to attack OReilly last night because neither Olbermann nor MSNBC could afford to have it appear that their top journalist was being muzzled by GE. For obvious reasons, such an impression would be humiliating and would harm MSNBCs 'journalism' brand. But over the last two months, muzzled by GE is exactly what Olbermann was precisely as I (and Brian Stelter) wrote."
###
The fact that anyone still calls Olbermann a journalist shows just how badly the media has strayed from their once professional and ethical path.
The fact that Olbermann would say such a situation was true (minus he being part of a deal), says more about him as a "journalist," than the left's paranoia about a bogeyman corporate propaganda campaign.....Nothing Olbermann utters can be trusted.
This is all about "image," and that leading motivation, that is making MSNBC and the poor, unprofessional "journalists," deny and lie, is simply one sympton of their overall problem. Editorial choices have many influences....It is obvious that Olbermann, and most of NBC NEWS, picks and chooses new coverage based on faulty, self-serving and unethical foundations.
Where is Howard Kurtz and the rest of the so-called "experts," on this controversy?

Fox News Conservatives Gripe Over North Koreas Release Of Journalists
Reported by Ellen - August 5, 2009 - 37 comments
Gripe?? Was NBC, CBS and ABC "griping" when they discussed the issue of Clinton's visit and failed to show "enthusiam" over the release of the journalists?
Were they "griping" when they discussed the issue of a deal being made with North Korea?
I guess not. As usual, the Idiot Ellen only accusses Fox of "griping" when it is convenient for her agenda of smearing and attacking Fox.
Also, in her tiny mind Fox attacked Al Gore by not mentioning his name. On what level is that even rational?
More of the usual from the Heinhous Hound and her poodles.

If Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes are blackmailing MSNBC (as Olbermann characterizes it), then there must be some leverage that counts as a threat to GE (the fact that they are after govt contracts)
It's interesting that Olbermann can "honor" Glenn Greenwald in his recounting of the talks (He doesn't seem to honor Brian Seltzer for THAT same report.) when it comes to the fact that such meetings took place, but he has nothing to say about Greenwald's expressed (now) opinion that MSNBC wants O'Reilly to shut up because they are lobbying the WH.
The Huffington Post writer can't have it both ways. You can't say this story is only important because of what it reveals about corporate machinations and then ignore the fact that the increased championing of the Obama Administration, by MSNBC, could very well be a part of that corporate strategy.
That Keith evolution from liberal critic to outright DNC cheerleader, Kos Diarist, etc... isn't solely a matter of an increase in ratings (as someone said Donahue was the most watched show on MSNBC when they canceled it), but of because G.E. NEEDS govt contracts.
Frankly, Olbermann quit a job on grounds far more tenuous and less intrinsically important to his industry than these.
Again, you can't have it both ways, especially if you're on the left. You're going to have wave the banner of corporate malfeasance when it comes to GE and News Corp, but yet default to complete credulity when it comes to why Olbermann continues under these dynamics, why he complied with GE dictates after June 1, and how he continue on at MSNBC when its evident that the corporate culture there has out-FOXED Olbermann's most critical characterization of FNC.
The writer at HP says this is all important because of what it reveals about corporate duress, however he can't just have it that way. Instead of distancing himself from the argument that none of this matters because Keith's rear end justifies the means, the HP writer has to embrace it. He has to admit that it doesn't matter to him if Keith has long known the motives behind GE allowing him to have such a one-sided show and for GE allowing MSNBC to slide completely to the left. It doesn't matter that Keith has ridden those dynamics to personal glory like it's a corporately financed call-girl (sorry about that analogy but no other is as accurate).
He's going to have to admit that if Keith is this much of a fraud, that he's just fine with that.

"I second that emotion" was a phrase popularized by one of the pioneers of Talk Radio: Barry Farber. A self-described 'Jewish hillbilly', he was one of the sharpest minds ever to do talk radio, but he wasn't above using a clever phrase to make a point.

I would suggest the above headline read as follows;
Pathetic Priscilla: Still Obsessing About Plural And Interspecies Marriages
Reported by Priscilla - Wed 7:26 AM
She sure does spend an awful lot of her time posting about sex, gays, marriage and other people's personal lives.
I find that her kind usually has something to hide regarding her own issues.

Blackflon, I'll bet Priscilla's post leads to an O'Reilly Attack tonight on "Countdown." Also on the hit list, Eric Bolling, merely for saying what he said in Johnny's "Bolling's shot" link: "Hey, cease-fire. I don't think so. You're not going to see this on Olbermann... I'll bet you that."

Pris-claudo is an elderly gay male, for the record I couldn't care less about his preferences. As for his immeasurable intolerance and endless smears directed at white Christian males & females I find his comments to be nauseating.
No wonder Brodsky enlisted his help to spread the lies on a daily basis eh?

Once again the Idiot Ellen leaves out important facts.
Ever Eager To Smear Obama, Hannity and Fox News Baselessly Call "Mob Connected" Giannoulias Obamas Protege"
Reported by Ellen - August 5, 2009 - 6 comments
There is a story about Giannoulias' possible canidicy that links to a Politco story that states Giannoulias considers Obama considers Obama to be his political mentor.
The Idiot Ellen doesn't appear to like the word protege so she takes the word and creates another distorted post about Fox.
How about the word "mentor" Miss Idiot? Would that help you tone down your craven desire to smear Fox at the drop of a hat?

It's Mike Malloy's tragedy to have been born during the wrong era and in the wrong country.
He have been in his element to be in China, stabbing his neighbors during the Cultural Revolution.

"And Fox News continues on a ratings tear this week. On Monday night and again last night, FNC beat the combined prime time averages, in both Total Viewers & A25-54 viewers, of MSNBC and CNN."
"In fact last night, 'The O'Reilly Factor' (on cable TV) averaged 3.67 million Total Viewers at 8pmET topping the 8pm average of 2.91M on ABC (on broadcast TV), with 'Superstars.'"

Good O'Reilly Talking Points Memo about GE being fined for misleading investors.
No, dramatic gesture to prove his independence. Just reporting and commenting on a story that hit the wires yesterday, from a conflict-of-interest angle that O'Reilly has been elucidating for months.

I could be wrong (not really), but threatening and blackmailing are against the law. Has a complaint been filed with the authorities?
GE employees should be up to speed on unlawful activities; i.e., fraud, pollution of the environment, pollution of the airways, acting stupidly on camera, etc.
